I’m glad this is here in RUclips. I like this lecture series and is helpful given that my own hermeneutics teacher in seminary just assigns reading and no lecture.
At the end of the day, who really cares what these anonymous authors, writing a hundred years after the lifetime of Jesus, had to say about anything? We don't get all gooey about the Wisdom of Ben Sirach. "Jesus did this and Jesus said that." It's all made up. How do I know that? John wrote about a three year ministry of Jesus and the disciples. But in the synoptics, his ministry is brief, possibly only a few months. Whom should we believe? If you apply the well vetted "law of non-contradiction," the whole story of the angry hateful god of Judaism simply disappears. The proper biblical hermeneutic is not all of this guy's shenanigans, but rather "What was this guy smokin'?" No, Jesus didn't perform miracles. Paul didn't perform miracles. Nobody performed miracles. It is all a huge scam perpetrated by Rome, to secure the Emperor's position, officially and permanently as God's Kingdom of Earth. David Bauer probably knows the whole thing is a scam, but plays along with it because the truth/facts are too hard to face. The gospels are NOT a credible source. They are lie-machines. Hate-machines. Control-machines, posing as truth. Lies persist everywhere. Christians think their "The Bible" will give them the ability to distinguish between truth and lies, but that is in itself a lie! If Jesus actually existed, Matthew would not have provided a patently false birth certificate, which Luke felt compelled to replace, because Matthew's fraudulent birth certificate actually demonstrated that Jesus' descent was forbidden by God by his curse upon his family. God curses families? WTF? I know you have compromised your morals, but on equal authority from "God" and "Saints" and "Apostles" etc., I don't give one f* about you and your circle, because, like "Yehovahe," I'm married to a particular people. Get it? Of course not.
