I think they just changed it because they changed their attitude too. It used to be a matter of you fail a test you're going home. From what I understand now they actually try to help you pass through so long as they see the potential there.
Great video. I remember passing my PRMC clearly. There were 2 make or break occasions. The first was the pool and if you didn't go in backwards then it was looked on pretty dimly as a lack of Command spirit! The second was press ups while on the endurance course. Everybody had to lock arms and hold yourself after a few sets. Everyone who failed to hold as long as the PTI did failed the course if I remember correctly. This was though 25 years ago! Good luck to anyone and everyone joining.
Did you get through the 32 weeks and get the green beret? I'm going to join the Royal Marines, and I'm going to spend a very long time training my self up even before I apply, I have my issues, I struggle with self discipline and eating habits, mainly that I don't eat enough, I'm underweight and a faliure to what I want to be, but il get out of my hole and punch my fucking issues in the nuts, the Jocko Podcast has helped me a lot, but I NEED not want to join the RMC, I want the strength it gives, the brotherhood it provides, and the life long skills that last, I dont care about the title, I care about what it stands for, and how it can improve myself to become better in every way.
@@LRL. The only way I keep sane is exercise and my goal, I struggle with shit, but I got to do it, and i am. Sometimes it's hard to push through the darkness, but if you do there will always be light, if you dont, it just gets darker, well, at least in my experience.
Truly gutted, had my PRMC booked this year but injured my leg 3 weeks before travelling down. Talking to some of the lads who passed and are now training, they're loving life.
Do you mind me asking what injury you got mate? I've had tennis elbow for almost a year now and feeling no different. Tendons take ages to heal so I know I can do it one day but I feel for you man because it'll be at least a few years before I can apply and that depresses me to hell.
I wish I'd have been a royal marine. The feeling of wearing that famous green beret, the macho pride of being part of an elite fighting force, and seeing the world too must be something you just can't beat.
All my family were forces, if I wasn't born with a disability my career path would've been the forces, I would have aimed at green or scarlet beret as I have always lived life to be the best I can, a big salute to all you fellas and lasses past and present who do what you do for this country!

Ben Sturgeon good luck lad when I went down there I was taken aback by how fit you need to be when I went down for sit ups I got 72 and push ups 48 the bft is not as bad for the actual course but the ptis will royally fuck you up but best thing to go off is get the points first day when you do the bleep test and push ups and pull ups and the swim is easy the next days are just about hanging in and giving it your all if you get the points you’ll be sweet
This is some quality content. I'm planning to join sandhurst in a year or so but watching these videos really makes me reconsider my choice. I really wanted to be a marine back in the day but sandhurst is also very appealing 🤔

I would never had past thePMRC course, however I did have the mental strength to pass from Deal to the end of training at CTCRM and spend 10 years as a Marine Commando , I do think that some times we miss out on good sound Bootnecks by judging people to early.

Do whatever you can lad, don’t give up. I am in the exact same boat as you and I know there’s others too. Just have to not eat junk food and improve strength, little stuff like doing more and more push-ups each day

I’ve just been heartbroken 😔 as I have found out I am ineligible to be a royal marine commando because of one of my eyes I hope 🤞 this gets changed in the future or a laser eye surgery is invented for keratoconus

Just looking if anyone one here has had any long term injury in the past and still managed to eventually pass out into the military? I only ask because I got tennis elbow while I was training almost a year ago. I know Ill heal one day but either way it'll take me at least a few years to even begin training again. It's crappy because I was training harder than ever and making good solid progress (I should have been PRMC ready by the end this year) and then my body is the thing that fails me not my determination. Just for clarity I am 17 getting on for 18 at the moment but joining the RM is all I've wanted to do for years. Cheers.

I've got an astigmatism but have 6/6 vision and have passed for paras, as long as you have no worse than 6/12 uncorrected and 6/9 corrected they are fine
Could someone please tell me the rules on applying with epilepsy? Such as is there a time period required since the most recent seizure before you can join
16 pull ups, 60 press-ups, 85 sit ups and level 13 bleep is all quite hard and you need to train properly to achieve those numbers where as 11.5 min mile and a half is pretty easy

Hi, dont know if anyone will see this but on the 1.5 mile best effort the video says you have 11.15 to complete it, from everything I've seen online it says 10.30, does anyone know if it has changed ?
For the old pr joining fitness test( which isn't done now ) you have to do it in 10.30 then on your pmrc( which isn't done now) you get points so you can do it in under 11.15 but you will only get 1 point out of 5.
I guess. Being 14, don't try to replicate everthing these guys are doing or you will get hurt. I would join your nearest Royal Marine Cadets detachment (Part of the Sea Cadets) and get in some extra experience.

My life is dedicated to becoming a Marine. I am a kid, and I am training myself so I can hopefully become fit and strong enough to join a Marine.

If u look on naval service eligibility and guidelines it states all medical standards for eyesight

The Scatman i can swim and comfortably put my head underwater comfortably but its just trying to sink underwater i struggle with.
