I don’t have much good to say about American Idol, but I can say beyond any shadow of a doubt that the show produced one of our generation’s most amazing voices in that of Ms. Clarkson. To be that purely pitch perfect and so incredibly soulful with nothing more than a simple microphone is nothing short of miraculous. Her inflection evokes deep emotion, pain, passion, sorrow, and joy all at the same time. She is simply amazing. This rendition is haunting, effortless beauty in song.
