Very clear and concise instruction. I love how he walks through each step even though it might a repeat of a previous step. That really helped me commit it to memory.

Power Query is so much easier and I find there to be less chance of an error. You can also use custom columns to force it to find entries with similar naming formats. i.e. greg smith and gsmith.

I really enjoy your videos and the cadence you put to explain them. I am trying find a way for Power Query to exclude (without removing from data) certain data points. I can have two tables and the request is 'If you find this item don't bring it'. Access had a built query to 'exclude' the matching points from table.

Here is the scenario: I have master data table, and the another table is Countries and Race. The master data has several columns + countries, with the Race column with blanks. So when I receive new data set I paste it in the master data table replacing the previous/old data and I have to place the race related to each country. Some rows don't have country because not all the individuals are foreigners. My question is after all these queries you set up, if I delete the old data from the master, paste new data set, will the query updating by refreshing, or I have to set up the whole process making the queries? What should I do with the Country Column that has blank. Should I trick it? putting type blank on the Country row and put on the Race column from the Countries and Race list as 12-Unknown? then after merging I would get rid of the blank texting. There are 100, 1000 rows where you don't want to type the race manually or use combo box with excessive clicks and select the race that hurt your hands causing injuries.

thanks but i guess you don't have to convert it into "tables" to do that 1:46

This is helpful but your example is too perfect/clean. All rows matched on your left join. Better example would to show messy data where you have a significant amount of mismatched data (15k rows match out of 29k)
