Same. A lot of people think of ball pythons as beginner snakes too but honestly I think the only reason either of those animals is considered a beginner pet is because they're both hardy. Like yeah, they'll likely *survive* most beginner mistakes as long as the person has done a reasonable amount of research but ball pythons can be very finicky eaters and bearded dragons can be a lot of work. Neither one is the absolute worst beginner reptile out there but there are definitely better beginner snakes and lizards.
@@amandalucky8211 frankly, most reptiles and amphibians need a very specific environment to thrive. I wouldn't consider the vast majority "beginner" by any means. Thus far, tarantulas have been the most forgiving species with which I have worked (and of course there are a litany of exceptions there!).
Definitely not beginner friendly without a substantial amount of research. My baby is my first reptile but I did almost a year of research beforehand & have handled/cared for others reptiles in the past.
My first Lizzard was a Beardie and I do agree they are not the best first timers and I've had many Australian native reptiles, after my Beardie I went into Skinks and restrictors and my Beardie is 12 years old now and she is a beast. I also understand about the Beardies nails my girl refuses to let me trim hers.
Totally agree bearded dragons are not beginner reptiles. I think they get labeled that because they are resilient - they can survive a lot. But just because an animal can survive in bad circumstances (dehydration, MBD, nutrient deficiencies), doesn't mean they are for everyone. It's easy to screw up their care and cause them harm - which can be lifelong damage.
I love them! I’ve always found them to be so beautiful & the ones I’ve met have touched my heart. Id Love To Own One Someday when I move out (I’m 14) But Someday, When the time is right, I’d absolutely love to give one a loving home. They’re just so precious ❤️
Awww Kat the wee hairless hamster was adorable omg...... I'm going through chemo and lost my hair lol so I had a wee awwwww moment 😁😁😁😊 as always huge huggles from Scotland uk 🐹🐁🦎🐍🐸

I need to find someone as supportive as Eric is. My animal habit has cost me more than one marriage, lol... This was really cool to see, there are so many different animals that make good pets if they are cared for properly. Thank you Kat for another great video, from my favorite RUclipsr.
I have a beardie and I don't exactly consider them beginners either I got mine a year ago but my parents had also had 4 (which didn't work out for them) I treat my beardie (nova) like a baby. She gets baths, toe trims because she thinks I'm a personal jungle gym, daily outside time when the weather is good. My family calls her the new grandchild at the point...they love her more than me 🥲
Have you tried giving her real sandstone formations and logs? My girl, Nox, never gets her nails trimmed because she naturally wears them down to acceptable levels on the rocks. Its a life saver, cause Nox does not appreciate when she is denied access to her jungle gym (me).
I’ve seen a boa snake do that to a handler before, and I sort of saw it coming right before yours did it. The handler at the time said they sometimes smell things like other pets on you and thing you’re prey.
My goal when my partner and I get a house is to turn our basement into a pet room! :) I want to have aquariums, frogs, insects (and arachnids), reptiles, etc... Maybe cool plants, too, if I can get enough light.
So many wonderful critters! I love how puffed up your tomato frog was. *So* angry! 😆 I so wish I could have a snake, it's a lovely treat when you feature them. Yeah, so very funny and entertaining!! 😄 You must have a good size tank for albino corys and yoyo loaches, yes? At least a 20-25 gallon? I just got a corn snake in January of this year, and I cannot wait for her to get as big as your's. She was barely 8 inches when I brought her home, and now she's close to 3 feet long. I just adore corn snakes. Love their derpy little faces
i'm fine with all of the typically "scary" animals like snakes and spiders, but FROGS... dude i don't know why they creep me out so much lol! all of your animals are super adorbs, specially the puffer fishes 🥺
Gosh, the snakes had me enraptured, lol, Daisy was my favorite I think. Just, she’s so beautiful and majestic, and her colors aren’t something you see very often in my area for ball pythons. The rosy boas were also gorgeous.
Lol watching your snake bite you made me ask why have a pet that hurts you then I realized I have a giant macaw and I get bit all the time 🤣 then I told myself shut up and just enjoy the video. Just became a subscriber because I’m petrified of lizards and spiders but somehow you make it seem like it’s so fun! Maybe one day I’ll hold one if I get over my fear.

If you don't like your beardies claws and don't want to trim them then put some rocks or rough tiles in his tank.
