I don’t really blame Hirose too much tho. English is one of (if not the) only language(s) that had the rhotic “r” sound - where you pull your tongue into the back of your mouth to pronounce it. The rhotic “r” is _very_ difficult for any non-native English speaker. In the case of native Japanese speakers, any “r” sound is replaced with an “ell” sound; “Rui” sounds like “(r)Lui”, “Ren” sounds like “(r)Len”, etc.
