Came across this song randomly and not a fan lyrically because you shouldn’t have to sell your soul. It’s the one thing that’s missing in a lot of music this day and age, not to sound overly critical. Voice is stellar, musicianship is on point, and beauty is impeccable.
Eh you've got an incredible talent. Don't waste it falling into the same track as everyone else. People used to turn to music to uplift them when the war was around. Life is beautiful and every song seems to be about money and heart-ache. I understand emotional songs have a place but don't lose that soul. God is great and he gave you a wonderful gift. Anna, I was so glad to see you uploaded a new song. I love it, it's a great song. Musically, it's very catchy and engaging. I have to say, I was baffled by the introspective sincerity of the lyrics, by how deep they cut into your recent years experience. My favorite line: "I just wanna get the most out of life".
Now, I hope you won't mind if I challenge you a little (I'm sure, some fans will mind!). That beautiful line, is that the same as fame and "green and gold"?!
Here is what I think: you are amazingly talented - your songwriting, your great voice and interpretation, your keyboard playing too - , you already gave us (your fans), through the years, the gift of dozens of beautiful songs. I hope you'll get the recognition you so much deserve. There are, as you well know, so many famous acts who are commercially successful - but rather worthless artistically. On the other hand, there are also true artists (your category...) who achieve massive success.
So, I wish you the best of luck, I wish your tremendous talent will get such recognition, that one day you'll be able to look back and say something like "in my younger years I was singing about 'selling my soul' ('cause 'all I wanted was for people to know my name'), but not anymore, they already know my 'name' - they know my real soul, for what it really is!".
Fame, "green and gold" can serve as vehicles towards the real goal: a beautiful musical career developing under the sign of authenticity.

I wish you'd keep your should because you have a lot of it and truly beautiful things are made when the heart and the soul are poured into them :) So much commercial music lacks soul/feeling. Nothing makes me more sad than people my age and younger (I'm 25) who think emotion is a weakness. It is a strength. You're an amazing artist Anna, let your heart guide you.
I actually heard this on Pandora today!! I just added this to my iTunes library, along with all your other hits... including "Army of One" from "Silly Dreamer", circa 2009!! I did get to see your band play in Strasburg, VA at Cristina's Cafe. We didn't get to meet that night, but we will some day.
