- The true story is because I want to help my family; I want to help my mother...there was a boxing show in our place and we heard that there's a prize. Even you lose, there's a prize...we fight and I won, so I made $2...if you lose, $1...I buy rice and food to my mom...I was 12 years old," stated 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, who told the tale of how he got into the sport of boxing. Check it out!

He didn't even know what boxing until he become the greatest boxer of all time
from $2 to $20+Million a fight..... just freakin amazing.
Stonks📈📈📈😏
He had a humble beginning and he's not ashamed to tell it. He also hasn't lost sight of where he came from. He's maternal uncle was once our neighbour. When Manny became rich, his uncle got called back to Gen. Santos City, I heard he was offered a job. He's still there. During his training, he employs lots of people. He doesn't really need most of them but he employs them anyway. He's a genuine nice guy. Performing well in Senate too. Heart's in the right place. I just wish politics don't influence him a lot and become a traditional politician. Overall, such a rare person.
very rare indeed. story of a true legend.
This man went thru some struggles in his life to get him in this position. God bless.
His struggle is the toughest of all.. One meal a day, drinking lots of water just to fill the hunger..
Notice when the interviewer asks "Did you feel something during that first fight?" Pacman did not feel anything. He LITERALLY just wanted to feed his family. That's a fire that is much stronger than any other will out there
Came from not knowing the the sport, to become "THE SPORT".
Fighting your way out of poverty is very difficult but the results are worth it
Joelson Sabado yes parkinson syndrom is so great
@@Skillpointer10 shit, how would you have gotten your family out of poverty in the Philippines?
@@Skillpointer10 you know not everyone has brain damage or Parkinson syndrome in boxing right like look at Robert Garcia he boxed before and he’s old and doesn’t have brain damage look at julio Cesar chavez he’s really old and had 89 fights and look at him now he’s still walking and talking properly and it looks like he never even stepped in the ring and got punched before so what are you talking about
It's an amateur, not sanctioned, sort of underground boxing matches held every week just for local people there for entertainment. People sometimes put moneypot or bet to the fighters. There are no weights class. They based it on height or body mass. The gloves are worn out. Typical third class community having fun. That's where our hero Manny came from.
There was a fiesta. And its like every fiesta they held boxing competition back in my friends place.
what a cool story. he didn't even know what boxing was and didn't care whether he win or lose just as long as he gets paid LOL.

A young manny pacquiao without food, shelter and dad.
Philippines is rough man imma tell you that
He's been living under a rock for all those years XD

From nothing into something! What an inspiring story of Manny. He was not just fighting to his opponents but fighting for survival not only to himself but to his entire family. That's how poor Manny was. he doesn't care weather he wins or lose, as long as he gets the price win or loss.
Fact❤bro
Actually it's was sad story back then
manny could just lie and boast he koed his opponent in his 1st fight. but dude so honest and humble, tells the truth its decision
A sanctioned fight? What a dumb question. It was for $2 with 12 year olds in the Philippines.
True what a silly question indeed.
true... but was it sanctioned? jk lololol
sometimes you become non sense, when you are star struck..
sanctioned by low level corrupt politician.
Hahahahahahahahahaha funny question. Men oh men do some active listening ok?
Win or lose, the goal was to participate and get paid to feed his family. I remember vividly watching his fights back in the day on TV, he was already a very good brawler, his fights were electrifying. I truly believe his success came the moment he started fighting for others first before himself. What a great champion, he's a true legend of his sport.
His life was harder than boxing. Boxing is easier for people who struggle with poverty. The outcome is much more predictable and easier to accept. Life is a lot harder.
I don't know what you mean easier.when you have money everything else will be easier when you don't. imagine fighting while feeling the pain of hunger and not having proper diet to properly recover. plus no training just brawling.
Manny fought his way out of poverty. A champion indeed
We are so lucky to hear a true story from the living legend!
The young age story of Manny Pacquiao's life
That's why God bless him because he's a very humble.
That's pretty kool how he got into boxing didn't know that.
Watch the film called "manny"
From a kid who didn't know the sport, to the greatest pound for pound boxer to ever live.
did boxing just to support his family ❤️🙏🏽 manny a real one
If you watch Kid Kulafu you would actually find out that he came from the Jungle before he was in the slums. When he moved to Manila he had to sleep on the ring he trained on cause he couldn't afford to pay rent as a construction worker. At the tender age of 16 in his first year as a pro, before one of his fights, he saw one of his closest friends die in the ring. Shortly after that he had a match himself. He knocked out his opponent as quick as he could so he could rush to the hospital and see his dead friend and say his final goodbyes. Pac is the realest since Duran. He was literally made for this shit. When it's all said and done we all know who the GOAT is.
Very well said brother
I didnt know that.
its not jungle its mountainous region in bukidnon

Such a humble man! Truly Legend
SUCH A HUMBLE PERSON FROM A HUMBLE BEGINNING...
this is the secret behind his punches, he fight for survival not for him but also for his family and thats my friend a very good motivation.
When you're hungry and wanna earn money in an honest way like boxing, it doesn't matter whether you lose or you win. What's important is you have money in your pocket after the bout.
He gotta feed his family
Very inspirational...teary eyes..
What an inspiration thanks
Every interview Mannys done his English is kept improving .
Manny how it felt to be poor that's why he's kind and generous to the poor.Success didn't get into his head because he found God in his life. The more he became successful the more he became humble.Every win he had manny people will benefits because he share his blessings.God bless you more:)
He was born to be a figther. A champion. A legend.
Thanks for that boxing show..
He didn't know boxing that time because the only thing in his mind is his happy and excited about the fights because his gaining money because of that. Pacman is a Legend. And will always be a Legend. His Contribution to the boxing World is Huge. Someday People will gonna miss this guy when is gone in boxing. People will gonna put Monuments of Him. Not only in the Philippines but also in other Country. Mark My Word.
that guy who asled uf it was sanctioned. 🤣 he was TWELLLVEEEE... LISSSTEEEENNNN
That's the spirit of Manny when you lose its ok you'll just have to do good next time. And that's not what happened to Dela Hoya and Hatton. They were too disappointed of losing to Manny Pacquaio because of their ego and chose to end their career in boxing. That's why I see Manny as a warrior.
The legendary Manny ❤
Manny in his prime was beating legends and now as a legend he is beating guys in there prime

His father ran away.... which is very very rare among Hiligaynon..., so rare that when it does happen the son will do extraordinary things.... I saw an interview with Manny and a Manila sports reporter after a tough fight cut and bleeding in the locker room. After the interview the sport reporter kissed Manny on the top of the head like a proud father would to a son..
From zero to hero.
Joven Banderada sir thank goodness ❤❤❤❤❤
says humbling incredible story. Lady holding the mic "IDC ill just wait at the finish line and pick the winners".
Yes hes really great. He started off fighting to eat or starve..

Manny is like a real life anime protagonist character . His story and accomplishments defines the word "Greatness"

Did I just heard the last reporter asking Manny if it was professional boxing match? When he was just 12 years old kid on that time?
And, imagine a sanctioned fight with $2 prize lol
That reporter was either dumb as hell or didn't even listened to their conversation.
Love how there not even listening to him making manny answer questions he had already answered lol
Very true dude very fue boxer wil tell the trueth asame of being judge by other poeple and they think that. If you tell the the truth its the sign of weakness.
