    As a fellow Shere Khan Villainous designer, I admit I love RA's reinterpretation. A lot of our card names, abilities, and art choices lined up pretty well.
    The Fire tokens are new, but the tone of the gameplay feels similar.
    Edit: Tiger by the Tail has the wonderful phrase "you may". If Mowgli comes up, you can choose it, and just choose not to use any or either ability. Mowgli and Vanellope can never be forced.

      Are you sure about that? Only reason I say that is because there is a “clarification” regarding the He’s My Friend card which states the card may played with no effect. However, the same clarification is not present on Tiger by the Tail? If you have a link to an official clarification somewhere, I’d love to see it, thanks!

      @@theabsentfriend4002 Generally "You may" implies the choice, so it doesn't usually require Wiki clarification. That being said, I'll work on it. If nothing else, you always have the option to move the Shere Khan mover, even if you choose not to.

    Regarding Tiger By the Tail, both its effects says "You may" which means you can still play the card and choosing not to use either effect. No Fate card in Shere Khan's deck (or King Candy's) is ever unplayable, so an opponent can never be forced to play Mowgli.

      I said this is in previous comment, but are you sure? I haven’t seen any kind of “official” clarification on that. I know it says “you may” but I see that as you don’t have to do both things, you can do one or the other. See … He’s my friend doesn’t say “you may” but it can still be played with no effect. I’d like to understand it better

    • @HTSirohn
      @HTSirohn 2 месяца назад +2

      @@theabsentfriend4002 'You may' means that you got the option to use that effect or not when the effect is played. Unless a card lacks 'you may' you have to be able to resolve parts of the Fate effect to be able to play it. In this case the "Choose a location..." part of He's my Friend is not optional, but can always be done since it has no requirments about the location.

    • @TylerMawhinney
      @TylerMawhinney 2 месяца назад +2

      With TBTT, if it says 'you may' you don't actually have to play it. If you pulled both copies in a fate action, you wouldn't have to play them and consider it a dead fate.

    I’m really glad you made this video. I was playing against Sheer Kahn the other day and got absolutely smoked as the person playing him got “Sure to Pick Up His Trail” and “It’s Me Sheer Kahn” on their first turn, and then another “Sure to Pick Up His Trail” later on, so they could just play both cards when they had enough power. Honestly thinking about it, that may have been my fastest game. It feels like you need to aggressively fate the murderous kitty to keep him from winning.

      Well, I almost had that happen to me too, but the person playing Shere Khan forgot that Mowgli added fire, but it didn't take long to get rid of the fire and defeat Mowgli. I feel your pain! He's definitely a fast villain with some killer combos if played right.

    Good Afternoon Mate. Looking forward to getting this one for the old Tiger. I can see him being a tough play with it be fairly easy to put down fire. Certainly those monkeys are going to be important as the Khan Fire dept.
    I question the ability to play the "He's My Friend" card if there are no heroes present. I have always interpreted such cards as only being able to be played IF its effect can be applied. If there are no heroes at that location, the effect cannot be applied, and therefore the card cannot be played.
    I guess Scar is the "best" Murder Kitty considering he actually did murder his brother and did succeed in taking control of the realm which is more than can be said for Prince John (his brother Richard turns up at the end and just takes over again - which is pretty much what happened in real life) or Shere Khan who certainly tries to kill the man cub but basically fails to do more than beat up Baloo and discomfort Kaa.
    Of the lesser cats Lucifer can't catch any of the mice, the Siamese Twins are annoying and get away with everything but fail to keep Lady from returning. Felicia does eat Sebastian but gets eaten at the end by the Royal Corgis. Honourable mention to the Cheshire Cat who might not be a villain but pretty much pushes all of the Red Queens buttons.

      It is interesting how Disney has so many murder kitties, but no murder dogs. 🐶
      But yes, I thought the same thing with “He’s My Friend,” too. It turns out, since the wording of the card says “Choose a location” first, you can still play it even if it has no effect. Just declare which location, and if nothing happens … nothing happens. I can’t say the same about “Tiger by the Tail”

    Two years ago, I created my own Shere Khan game for Tabletop, and it looks like Ravensburger and I had some pretty similar ideas. Similar effects, allies, heroes, and locations. But The Fire Tokens were new, and I originally had no vanquish action for him. I had something similar to Evil Queen where you would pay power equal to a Hero's strength to kill them(Claw Action as opposed to Poison in this case). Even though it's not my version of Khan, Ravensburger actually did a very good job, and possibly one of my favorites to play as. My only complaint about him is He's My Friend, which....C'mon! Why wasn't it just called The Bare Necessities?!

      Yeah, I remember the Tabletop Simulator version of him being was close to this one. I think RB’s version is well executed, but yeah, there needed to be a “Bare Necessities” card. Also the thing with Baloo is a little unclear.
