Its like Christmas! You never know what will come out of the veins! I love rocks and minerals. I get so excited when you pull them out of the dirt. I love the way the crystals natural fascists gleam in the sunlight! They are outstanding specimens!

cheapest is 300, and goes up to 2k+ The more you pay the larger your pocket is going to be. worth doing a lot of research if you have never dug a vein before, it's a lot of manual labor.
I am trying to decide between the two mines. I'm not wanting to pay a lot for phantom pockets at twin creeks. Would it be more beneficial to go to Ron Coleman instead then to look through the tailings?

How do you clean them? We found a bunch in South Carolina recently and have them but no clue how to get all the mud and off. We rinsed in water and soaked for a week or so. Still not coming off. Do you soak in acid or vinegar?

Scott, I have no idea what the value is of crystals like these. Are they valued by carats, or what? What would be the approximate value of the crystals you guys found on your one day of digging in Arkansas?
Quartz itself is not that valuable. It's only when a crystal specimen has certain features that can make it very valuable -- it is perfect with no damage, the luster is high, the clarity is water clear, the size of the specimen, and other factors like shape or inclusions can add aesthetic value.

We did the coleman mine a few years ago and it seemed infested by rattlesnakes. In one day we saw at least 24. Workers came around warning everyone to look out.

It's an amazing drone. Previous drones had too poor range, battery life, and bulk to really be useful in the field.

Most crystals are worth more the further you get from the source. I know some people that dig and sell, and some of the mines wholesale as well.
