I miss Jake's casting, he explains the game in a way different than most. Glad he's on the OWL desk at least
He just casted the games today.
not anymore 🥲
SVB is secretly collecting coaching like infinity stones so he can become OW’s Thanos. He not slick.
i'm a plat genji and i think this is the best instructional genji content i have seen on youtube. i will probably rewatch this video multiple times.
I was dykng of laughter as Jake tried to coach SVB to deflect grav, but the Zar decided to hold grav until PvE.
Zarya used it the fight before
Yeah the voice line came out as he died the life prior to the comment
Jake has such a great coaching style being brutally honest and giving really useful tips that are practical.
i feel he is still being nice, he says mechanical issue but most of the things he did lacked mechanics
As a gm1 genji main i agree with jake on a lot of things. I find it very interresting to see someone else coach someone on this hero since i have done the same, and think i understand the hero very well.
One thing that i always say is what makes genji so hard to master is that what you can get away with relative to how good mechanics you have. This is the same for a lot of heroes, but i would say for genji its very relevant.
Also the more risks you take the more you learn what you can deal with.
A lot of genjis end up playing poking genji to get blade, and that is def a way to play him. But its not even close to the value u can get from the hero. Assasin genji is def the way if you wanna reach high rank and use the hero to full potential. The more you understand when to be passive and when you can be an assasin or follow up on targets (timing) the more insane you become.
What makes genji soooo hard to master aswell is the animation canceling and 1 shot combos. The more consistant you get the more crazy stuff u can go for. And the better you get at the movement the more u can dodge and have better escape paths.
There is SOO much to touch on this hero and i love talking about him 🤓
what do you mean exactly by animation canceling and 1 shot combos?
@@draymonddream1316 he means when u ult u swing and dash theres a time frame if u mess at up u wont get the kill because it wouldnt have registered theres a map u can use to practice his ult n u can put zen ult on them and u can practice the time n be more consistent
@@draymonddream1316 good deflect cancel timing, wallclimb/dash to cancel the blade faster. when to rigth klick dash rigthclick, when to leftclick dash rigthclick. when to melee in general and knowing how much dmg you need. some combos like allways rigthclicking before deflecting (99% of the time), allways rigthclicking rigth before pulling out the blade. there are some INSANE cancels that i cant even do. Recently i learned that u can wallclimb between blade swings to swing a tiny bit faster (im not sure exactly if its even true but i saw necros do it once and it was insane). there is a lot.
@@blacktuxwidow4318holee shit I know the necros vid u are talking abt it was a 3k blade, the slash - wallclimb - slash animation cancel was fucking nuuuts
1 shotting someone on highground is probably the most satisfying thing you can do in this game
Jake has an intellectual understanding of the game that has taught me so much. Great Collab!
All those coaching tips are unbelievably valuable! You can learn so much from the small details to huge mistakes!!! Really good! You can take so much from this video! A lot of tips can be applied to your main Hero as well making the content even better!
Amazing video! 💪🏽😎
It just amazes me how much knowledge difference GM players could have among each other!
I thought there is nothing a GM player could learn but this video teaches you how you can constantly evolve even on GM lvls!!! Really appreciate your content!
PS: You can clearly see that SVB-Side wants to learn more and more from Jake! Jake‘s mentality towards obstacles is different from other’s perspective.
I just baffles me that one GM player wants to learn more! Jake has incredible in depth knowledge about the OW game overall! You wanna take everything in!!!
1:03:49 welcome to the nightmare that is genji QoL. Your deflect is unfortunately ping dependent. So is your blade and dash
I love that he explains from the perspective of different potential outcomes and levels of mechanics. Explaining what to do if you do or don't hit shots, land abilities or whatever might happen is so refreshing. A lot of coaching videos I see whoever is coaching seems to approach the game from their own mechanical level; whereas Jake explains what to do in the situations where something doesn't go right. Such a good video honestly.
dude this is so helpful! more coaching vids, if you can please!
Regarding Jake's topic on team play, I have to agree with him, I enjoy the game much more when I think of it from a team based sense, but, the level and scenario in which I play doesn't require that and doesn't make it optimal. Also, would be great to have elo specific tournaments even if there's no big reward.
That's why I enjoy the game way more when playing with friends, comp and quick play. Even if out calls are quite simple and we don't execute too complicated strats, it just feels so much better that when you call something out there's a higher chance it will be acted upon, your teammates will be consistent and it just also helps with mental.
SVB got some of the best educational content
The best educational one are the ones of "awkward" for me.
Very simple way of playing. Teaches you how to always stay alive and always bring value, no matter your aim. People in low ranks are often lost so they shoot tank or are healboting. His channel for me is a gold mine for improving, nothing complicated mostly just how to position, yet if you master it, you can be master..
@@CNV71 Yes, Awk is amazing. I am getting better and I can notice I am winning more. But SVM videos are good too! Nothing like consuming these instead all trash TikTok content with silver takes and dumb analysis.
@@CNV71 Awkward is amazing for beginners.. Jake is incredibly well spoken, has coached at a professional level and very well so, and his stream-of-consciousness full of insights and observations is something you won't get from Awkward. Best to bookmark this and come back when you need more. There's a lot in this video about how to play against at genjis too.
Another awesome vid. Thanks for this series. Can’t wait until the next one. (Jake is awesome. I miss his RUclips vids. )
19:09 yeah you can climb there just get off the wall early by letting go up jump and them back up, and double jump and you can grab the ledge.
1:24:03 SVB channeling his inner cavalry with the head movement
25:04 class genji things lol
When u die on second point defence to Moira ult, none of u or jake recognise that sarta used grav in that fight, and u tried to play around it after jakes calls for 2 minutes
I first started out with low sense like this on Genji, but you really need something above like 5000 edpi otherwise your 180s are gonna be way to slow like yours and you actually do miss more shots with lower sense on Genji because you are constantly going vertical and that is so hard to do at a high level with low sense, I recommend going with something like double the sense of what u play hitscan on, then u don’t destroy your muscle memory because the two senses are so far apart
I'm gm1 on genji and I play on 800 3.5.
I honestly think his mechanics are just bad, it's not really the sens
im masters running 800 dpi 5 in game. it's entirely possible to use a lower sens on genji, you just need a very large mousepad.
You should see my console genji lol half my time is spent turning
Not trying to be rude, new to the channel. Are you Grandmaster at tank or support or something? Or just randomly decided to learn Gengu as a GM dps?
Awesome content. I've always been a big fan of Jake so this is a great watch.
As a Genji main I def appreciate this video💯🤌🏽
That coaching was terrific 💯💯💯💯
lmao that trap dash in kr was scary i was sure he'd get trapped but nope got in and secured the kill.
Thank you for posting such a long vid of this. Incredibly informational.
This man will go on to say he’s never played the hero even tho he has 💀💀💀
Just found out about you so far love the content i watch your videos on and off while they play in the background and my girl loves them because of the music lol great video though and the doom video helped me alot aswell.
it's 10 months later (and the game has changed a lot since then) but I've just found this video
first game I played trying to practice as much advice as I could, I went 32-2 and got told to touch grass in game chat
jake is a genius
We NEED Jake coaching for Junkrat
Also why not have Jake's name in the title too so people would know?
Was just keeping the title consistent with the series so it's easier for returning viewers to recognise. But have added Jake's name to the title since so many of you requested it :)
@@SVB-Side That makes perfect sense. I just want your content to get more attention as it seriously deserves!
@@SVB-Sidewhat does C9 mean?
@@MaidenlessGhahaha, so basically they’re a team (or was idk if they are anymore) and they left the opponents to take the objective which caused them to lose the competition so it became a running thing to say “C9” whenever someone or a team does the same thing causing them to lose bc of neglecting the obj
I'm a support main but I still managed to learn something about my own gameplay and what I could do better
I wish I had some of this advice back before I switched to hitscan.
genji is legit the only reason im playing this shit game. hes just so fun to play and such a unique experience in terms of first person shooters. really wish he didn’t feel bad a lot of times
Hey SVB you don't have this channel linked in your channels tab on the main. Thanks for the content!
Just found your channel today super enjoyable content sir 👌
bro is so good at coaching and majestic asf W
Dudes the hall monitor of OW2 with the reporting. Jesus Christ.
Never ever played genji... found him impossible in qp or mystery heroes... watched this play like 10qp games and went strsight into comp and carried. Im a turd plat but still... I would've hard thrown without this video. He's so so so fun if you get rolling.
I don't play Genji but i still could get some interesting info from this video. Jake's the best
"Play Tracer or just any hit scan and do 100x more" pretty much what I surmised from this coaching session.
Yeah it was lowkey making me mad every time he said that lmao. I get mentioning that Genji is in a slightly bad spot and that Tracer is in a better one, but this dude wanted to learn how to be better on Genji. Having the excuse of “oh other heroes are just better” doesn’t help you improve.
If the video was “I want coaching to play Genji in professional competitions” I would understand mentioning his viability more
1:27:00 svb def made the right play turret would be up and running again and looked like torb popped ult before he passed
Homie can’t stop himself from dashing lol
Are there any practice maps where you can practice genji one-shot and blade with variable speed? Like trying to get the consistent performance, but at 40% speed and then gradually increase the speed?
Dope video bro!
watching this was so fun
i get you dont play genji or tracer, but its hard to believe youre gm with that gamesense
Jake has a lot of patience
Top genji tech: switch to tracer
I love to see more vids like this. Who's next? A10? :)
a sens increase might help with those 180s
What sens were you using?
Is it just me, or Jake looks like young Joaquin Phoenix?
Great advice from jake as usual. But man some of those teams were toxic af, no wonder I don't use chat..
question, does the genji dash not reset during his blade on kill?
It does reset. You don’t even need to get the killing blow - even if you tickle the enemy with 1% damage and your teammates gets the other 99% and killing blow it resets the dash for you still.
Can u get Rokit coaching for tracer?
Doomfist and Genji are fairly similar, so this was best choice!
Jake is the definition of the worst thing you can do in overwatch is dying. It's great advice! The best value you can get with genji is staying alive and using his cooldowns defensively when needed
jake is in my house, jake is in my house, HE HAS A RIPTIRE, JAKE OW HAS A RIPTIRE, GUYS HELP
Omg those guys on kings row have no remorse
1:32:35 OW match chat moment
You should be able to deflect discord orb.
number 1 tracer glazer
2:44 ayooo?
40:47 Poor rein
if i try to search for this video again in the future, i will definitely be frustrated to find out jake's name isn't in the title
about that
Bloody hardest hero to play for me. So difficult to get good at.
Genjis dash should have two charges.
too op
@@ethan-se8st see, I don't think so. He would maybe need tuning to balance around it, but 2 dashes would not only be a lot more fun, but would make the character viable in many more situations. Also, give back Hanzo his one shot.
Dear svb, i m a mercy and Rein/Zarya main in bronce 5. I never never play genji. I bought the golden shuriken and put thr kendoka skin on...u know to show off 😂. I got 12 elims !!! JAKE works also for the worst noobs.
49:04 DMGRE
LOL flexing GM4 in OW2 is essentially 3200 Diamond ELO in OW1.
The gameplay from plat/diamond to GM does not seem that much different.
This makes me so mad knowing I perform and play better than this grandmaster genji but I’m in Diamond I hate it
38:25 me in a nutshell xD ;(
I love Ollwatch
bastion next
It's weird to me because some of the stuff that the dude with the glasses doesn't do or is completely unaware of It's stuff I know about know how to do but I am low gold very interesting
Thats the reason you are gold and he is gm. You are too invested with other peoples mistakes while Thinking you are godly and do 99% if Things perfect
First thing you do is ask the reinhardt to switch, he's rein on Numbanie, ask him to switch. If he doesnt switch he's greifing - jake
how cute is jake omg
Man that persona 5 music is soo f-ing anoying
I like how lil bro SVB just disregards and tries to ignore the advice of the former OW pro about asking the rein to dive on Numbani in a polite way. Lol.
jake handsome
jakes cool but he knew in advance this was a genji vid... yet he keep trying to get svb to swap.
why would u not put jakes name in the title what
can't believe I'm better than svb. I feel like a whole new man.
persona 5 is still the greatest game of all time
seems like everything blows your mind these days... any mind left?
This is me
1:15:41
gm ow2 = plat ow1
You’re not gm… idk why he keeps lying, never finishes unranked to gm beyond diamond. Always stuck, who are you lying to… grow up…
I loved watching both, but Jake is a much better coach than Awkward
good video ! But honnestly i don't get how SVB is GM, game sense and mechanics are lacking on each role ! probably a mid Diamond low master
overwatch 2 is just boost galore
I don't understand how he got to diamond 3 on genji with such poor mechanics, blades and ability usage... I main genji and I feel like I play way better but I am only diamond 5 peak
@@griglog its not hard - i barely play genji and i can play him in masters 2
@@griglog You just described all diamond players
@@brettnguyen2085 soooooo true
I found this a little frustrating to watch, I’m not trying to be a sick, but like you’re getting some juicy tips and I feel like you straight up ignored or did the opposite of what he was saying. I get it bad habits are hard to break, but damn lol
this dude just does not listen to advice
bro havent play any heroes at all
gm na, gold eu
I play both regions, and I would say NA is genuinely harder.
u cant even kill someone in diamond lobbies wtf.
first - also, JAKEEE LFG
how is this 1. A diamond lobby 2. a diamond genji I am plat 1 and 20x better than him in every way if I saw this gameplay with no context I would guess he was silver at best
NA dps for real.. you'd get avoided on asian servers playing like this
Bad video
