Old school values are what this country needs. My family had our version when I was young. I'm not Italian but French, and our lives revolved around our grandmother.
As a 67 year old man growing up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn and now a living in Lehigh Valley PA, I can connect. Being old school is a dying breed. It’s genuine! Not corrupted by all the woke bull shit that is going on. Traditional USA loving, family man, grandpa, and appreciate our military old school conservative man!
I sold Tommy that 78 eldorado he mentions at the end of the video, it’s one out of very few that’s fuel injected. I know Tommy a long time send my regards Chaz.
My mom's Italian family had way more in two blocks. Maybe 150. My grandmother had 8 brother and sisters. That live in one 12 flat . My grandfather had 16 kids. Plus all his brothers and sister kids. Plus extended family. As people got married they bought houses on the block or live in one of my uncle apartments. He owned 7 bounding on the block. Some are still there.
My dad used to deliver beer with Schaeffer and he would tell me about Arthur Ave, Bronx, areas of Brooklyn. He covered the 5 Burroughs. And grandpa delivered Rheingold beer. Chazz love your videos. Was always friends with Italians in Oceanside LONG ISLAND..mmmI remember the homemade dinners: manicotti, parm, ravioli, meatballs. On Sunday mornings smelling the delicious homemade sauce. Lol and all the bones in it. Our next door neighbors were like surrogate grandparents to us.. old school loved hearing stories
enjoyed meeting Tommie and his friends last weekend at the Italian Festival in Jupiter, FL. I’m an OS guy from Jericho, LI. Love the mention of Club 231. My sisters 13th birthday party was celebrated there. great memories
Hey Chaz, Big Tommie is very interesting to say the least. It leads me back to my childhood growing up in East New York Brooklyn. Me and my cousin grew up right in the middle of “Goodfellas” area of East New York,we were just a stones throw from The Big A racetrack and JFK ( Idewild ) airport. My father had a pizza place around the corner from where we lived . He opened in 1959 thru 1965. You know how that goes ( characters from under rocks but these were neighborhood superstars) from Fat Louie to Louie the Lip to Wah-Wah. I’ll forever remember these people and the times. Good times and Bad, from the night Tommie caught himself engulfed in flames on a summer night right outside the pizza place while most of our crowd sat reverse cowboy on our wooden chairs watching the entertainment for the evening “Tommie the human fireball”, My Dad “came running out from behind the counter with water saturated tablecloths to wrap Tommie and put out the fire. The rest of us didn’t see Tommie for such a long time. It wasn’t that no one wanted to help Tommie, I just think everyone was in “SHOCK” no one had ever seen a human fireball in person and no one knew what to do,It all happened so fast. I could go on forever. Thanks Chazz,Thanks for the Memories
A few weeks before he died, my dad was over at the house 27 years ago. We watched the Bronx tale together. I was still kind of young man and I looked down my nose at the mafia. My late father looked at me and said," It's their America too." You must have done a really outstanding job of playing Sonny, because you can watch it and do the TV made me nervous. But my dad had it right, they're just as much a part of the Mosaic that makes what we call America Today.. I don't glamorize crime or a criminal lifestyle, but there's many a times where the mob guys have been more ethical and true to who they said they were, then many people in the US government and it's various agencies which grow by the day. Every time I see "Bronx Tale", I enjoy it for two reasons, your stellar entirely believable portrayal of Sunny, and the movie makes me think of my Dad, I enjoyed everything you ever acted in, I hope you going to make many more pictures. Have a good one and God bless you.
Thank you so much tommy! Great interview, I’m litteraly buying because it’s tommy lol. I’ll probably love the cigar and it will be my to go to. Chazz I cannot wait to visit your restaurant with my family 🙏🏻. Most likely the city , much love to both of you. God bless!
