Just discovered your channel today. Very enjoyable, I have just watched two so far, I look forward to watching your back catalogue. This country has an absolutely marvellous number and variety of churches. I live in Devon where of course we have many rood screens surviving, some with panel paintings. Just visited Holcombe Burnell church near Exeter the other day, which has some such panels(but no rood screen) I just hope we have enough people who love these beautiful buildings to continue their upkeep well into the future. Thank you for posting. As an interesting foot note I am a direct descendant of the Dowsing family of Suffolk and Essex, the infamous William Dowsing the church smasher was of this family. This makes me slightly uneasy, I agree with the commitment to the Christian faith, but he unfortunately did a fair bit of damage to churches in the district as you will doubtless know. My great great great grandfather was a baptist minister on Mersea Island in Essex , he fell out with the Rev Sabine Baring Gould who was rector of East Mersea over matters of church practice. The Dowsing family were it seems extremely focused on their mission. All my mothers family were Strict Baptist and other non conformist types. Sorry William but I think you oversteped your mark!
