Still claiming perfectly level and flat streets were MUD.. Hilarious. Look at earthquake photos of Market St in San Francisco 1906... clearly shows the paver stones underneath. No street sweepers, but 'roman' streets from coast to coast... 1852 San Francisco depicts reality of it. Hard to see up close, just think about wagon wheel ruts.. those streets wouldn't be so level it they were actually dirt roads. We're not on the write side of history.

In southern CA, we had NO sidewalks at all until the 1960s!!!
