You have some purdy clever tricks for keeping warm. I personally love winter time, I probably camp more in the winter more than summer. Here in Montana, it doesn't get much above zero degrees Fahrenheit for several months.
The worst thing about winter camping is the shorter days for sure. A cuddle buddy is an excellent heat source ;-). You should try real winter camping like here in Minnesota, USA. Last year our coldest temp was -55F !! I wasn't camping in that. Using those reflective window shades really help. It's amazing how much heat is actually contained when sleeping in the vehicle as opposed to a tent. But when it's really cold nothing is going to help much.
@@OverlandLady Yeah...I am not a big fan of winter too much. A little is ok. Usually I would leave Minnesota and go teach English and travel around in Thailand from about January to April and then come back home and it's getting green and ready to start traveling all over the west. I think your winters where you are aren't too bad...probably just really wet which gets kinda suck. ;-)
Wonderful video. I have to admit, winter is my favorite season for camping. I get a subtle peaceful feeling while sitting by the campfire on a snowy winter night.
Hello, Very Beautiful Place and very Beautiful Winter Camping. You have all the right setup. All the heated Blankets are fantastic. Enjoy Camping there. Take Care.
Great tips hun. Those sleeping bags are nice. Someday you’ll find someone worthy of sharing your sleeping bag. But only on your terms. For staying warm, stay dry and layers of clothing. Plenty of real food. Not much alcohol. You look super cute in the hat. Take care of yourself and stay safe. 🍻🎄
The video made me laugh reminded me of my ex-wife not you personally but all day he did battery-operated stuff to try and keep warm. Me personally I’m not so good in the heat the ex-wife was I’m much better in the cold she used to refer to me as the human radiator. I don’t use any of that battery-operated stuff I have a nice sleeping bag that’s it I climb in my body just generates heat. I guess I’m just a strange guy I watch everybody else freezing cold even when I go to bed now no matter how cold it is outside I’ll go to bed with the window open and I will only be using a sheet I don’t use any of the other covers at all. So watching you with all that battery-operated winter gear it’s kind of funny to me but then I start to think about it and thought wouldn’t it be nice if you could get suits that made you cool when it’s roasting hot outside I could do with them. so where you have things to keep you warm I’d have suits to keep me cool LOL
Cool Vid. You can find cheap aftermarket diesel heaters which can be easily hard mounted in the back of your 80(see version sold on Amazon 135USD) Fits nicely in the side panels and small holes to exhaust it out. Be careful using electric blankets and buddy heaters as I have known two people burn their rigs down using them. I use hard mounted diesel heaters in both my Tacoma and 1st Gen 4rnr. Safe travels and amazing informative content as always! Totally getting a heated chair though. Thanks for sharing🙌🏾
I run hot, so a good sleeping bag/blanket is enough for me. but no heat goes to my nose, and that's the one thing you can't cover up. Still trying to find a solution for a cold nose, might have to heat the whole tent for that.
Keep your eyes open for seasonal deals. Couple of years ago I found a -20 sleeping bag at cabelas for less than 100 bucks. Went camping last weekend and I had to vent it because I was too hot.
@@OverlandLady you literally drove past my backyard, sadly missed. May see you in Canada once the pandemic is over, it is on my bucket list now. Next time should invite your parents here, try some best dishes around Melbourne. I just uploaded some recent travels but nothing compares with your professional work. Cheers.

Im sure many would if the border was open
Oh man, that reflectix/suction cup trick is GENIUS! Gonna use that once I have my truck for overlanding. Thanks for making a really useful video!
Glad to help!
Heat the Nutella by the fire and you'll have chocolate syrup :)
Good idea!
Great ideas we will keep in mind! 💕🐯🐯
Socks! A good pair of socks can be worth all the heated clothing in my opinion.

My whole winter bedding is buffalo plaid on a twin bed in my vehicle. Lol ( fitted sheet , pillowcases comforters and quilts)

Wash/soak your feet in cold water before going to bed....guaranteed to sleep warm. In the Scottish highlands it's our way to keep cozy

I like your ideas for staying warm. The hand heating pads in your socks. 👍 going to try that one.
I JUST LOVE THIS OUT DOORS, BRAVE WOMAN!!!!
Are you from Germany ? What's your accent?
Thank you for another great video. Merry Christmas.
Awesome!🙂
I love camping, especiaclysomeone like you .
Great tips! Hope to bump into you on the backroads!
be sure to say hi!
What is the tent/cot that you are using in the video?
It’s a ARB swag. Aussies use that instead of thin tents.
Great tips. When I get some time I'm interested in building a diesel heater.
They have some on Amazon that are an all-in-one style too that are about the same price. check those out too.
@@NigelNaughton Thanks, will do.

Just a suggestion, why you don't use a webasto heating sistem in you car?
Great job on the videos! Keep up the good work!
Diesel heater. ya several of my friends are building them for their specific heating area needs.
Хорошее у тебя снаряжение
I am you ! & you are me. I hope to see you around !
Awesome!!!👠🚌👠
great video. why did you chose an SUV rather than a van?
i started going to the mountains in a Jeep Rubicon.. so 4WD is always my first choice. not just a city SUV.
Sitting here trying to figure out what to make for dinner , breakfast it is !!!
Thank you 🥞🥓🍳✌
pancake for dinner why not!
Just made a pile of pancakes, sausages and scrambled eggs ... ! Out of whip cream .... dang it 😕 lol
