Gangs of wassepur is a masterpiece It can even be put higher than most of hollywood greats like training day, departed, Aviator, and many others I can't name all of them
Major issues with those movies are that they were all acting. But here, Manoj, Nawaz, and all these actors are actually from rural areas and understand the soul of the movie, and it doesn't feel like acting. It actually feels like it's happening in front of us.
wasseypur is good but then dont compare with the departed. Its a Masterpiece beyond anything .... its that good ....👍👍 and like if you really scale wasseypur upon reality then what is in it ??? 2 muslim families fighting and killing each other along with plot involvement of a coal mine owner turned Politician plus a brainiac.... wasseypur is bollywood masala along with Guns , revenge theme & abuses .... imagine if departed had such abusive scenes here n now in and out in every frame....it wouldn't have become successful at the time of release 👍👍 in fact thats why GOW gained cult following only with time but couldn't earn that much or double than its budget at the time of release , even in spite of terrific acting .... so there are always flaws in each n every movie but then if its directed by martin scorsese it becomes legendary .... i respect GOW but not more than Departed or The hurt locker ....👍👍 etc ....

GOW is one of India's best cult classic so far, all film schools will have a special mention on this in their curriculum, wonder how it was not noticed by Oscars (wonder how some cheap, unrealistic movies make it, credibility of Oscars are in question now a days )despite of having all legendary method actors, reminds me of films like Danjo Unchained, Machete Kills etc.
