Parts to include:
- 2 pcs 2,8v 3000F SuperCapacitor
- 2 pcs Super Capacitor Balancing Protection Board
- 12volt Double Pulse Spot Welder Controller Board Module
- Mosfet 522A AUFS8409-7P 40V and board
- 3psc Resistor 100w 1R
- Power Supply 5volt - 60A, 12v-2A, 24v-2A
- Old Pneumatic cylinder and Switch

Was thinking just the same thing... :D But he make for living out of his work: building E-bike's, E-skiro's and all kind of E powered vehicles and I bolieve he have purchased few - but low quality ones so he decided to build one to last... Im guessing.
you could achieve the same (spotwelding) way easier and cheaper with a Microwavetransformer build. You can easily adjust the power with these chinese 2000w AC motorspeed controllers (2$) when you put it between mains voltage and the transformer.

Love it all wish I was there with you just making things everyday I’m always making gadgets but the parts in the UK are expensive I used to enjoy a bit of welding as well, when I see all your parts and accessories you collect I can only imagine how much it would cost me to buy all those bits by the time the greedy UK government have had there bit. It's overkill to use 12 AUIRF8409 mosfets. The ultracapacitor can only provide 2050A current at max.

What a Build!!! Probably one of the best I have seen on RUclips and I build DIY Welders all the time for my channel. The only problem I see, is your parts list. Would be costly to source all those parts and pieces and the cost may be more than most can afford. But, I am sure the same welder could be built with less, just have to take the time to figure out the parts list for that one. Great Build like always.

That's the easiest part. Maxwell makes plenty of supercaps from 2.7 to 3 volts and 3000f, though I think someone bought them out semi recently. Maybe Tesla? Anyway, there are definitely companies that make supercaps that will easily ship to the UK. I know Limitless Lithium carries supercaps under their brand name. Alternatively, you might be able to use big lithium titanate cells, but they are 2.3v nominal

very good build but I think its a bit over the top really my friend don't take this wrong way but I have been following you since your first video etc and how you started with the tools and so on as you can see as time has gone on and more views followers and so on more money you earn and donations for you to use of parts/tools etc please don't let this take over and spoil your videos as you are a very clever man and very good at what you do.
I have to disagree with your statement. I for one find this to be very helpful as I have been gaining knowledge in spot welders. I currently have a machine that I can spot weld 99% pure copper 0.35mm straight to the batteries. Not a fan of nickel at all. I like that he adds the pneumatic head for a complete solution. Much cheaper than if you were to purchase one that has already been manufactured.

Only 1 mistake IMO - you should make more space between electrodes and holder because you can have big battery and you cant spot weld batteries in the middle. 100-120mm should be enough.

Why do we need this much advance and bulky spot welder to do tiny spot welding on batteries? Waste of time and money even though it's a DIY equipment. cheers.
About the switches that show up at 34:30; Shouldn't the switches be activated by the individual sliders(the paired ones) not the pneumatic piston. It appears that you measured the height needed for specific batteries against the piston instead of letting the machine do it automatically when both paired sliders have been compressed. Then instead of the 4 wires coming up, you can use 2 wires with the switches wired in parallel to the switching mechanism. Any response is welcomed.

Тут есть один обман, в том, что он ни разу не соединял сторону "+" у акуумулятора, так как для его сварки нужны высокие токи. Сторону "-" я могу приварить даже своим самодельным аппаратом из трансформатора от микроволновой печи.
