Swede here, working for a firm in your country though. I've been on/off vinyl for a couple years now, See that you haven't posted in a while. Felt like i need to tell you that your channel helped me out a lot, Your personality is great, your tips is great and your presentation is great, hope you come back. A guy like you (articulated, knowledgeable, down to earth) is needed in our field.
He said she was "older" so I wonder if he meant about MY age!? Awesome collection, I wonder where she got so much stuff on Vinyl? During the 90s, in my neck of the woods Vinyl was being phased out in a lot of stores!
Dang Armin it’s been nearly a year since you’ve posted some acquisitions. Are you not acquiring anymore albums? What the hell happened? Did you find a girlfriend compelling you to divert your expendable income to dinner dates and diamond earrings? You’ve got an amazingly diverse and rare collection of material......wish to see more.
What a treasure of a collection you got here! Beautiful! On your last batch towards the end of the video, Belinda Carlisle (you mentioned that you don't know her) was the lead singer of the 80's girl band The GoGos with hits like We Got The Beat and Head Over Hills. As a solo singer, she had hits like I get Weak, Mad About You and Heaven is a Place on Earth.
Man, Green Jelly... thought I recognized the name: "Green Jelly - Three Little Pigs" don't think I've listened to that track since I was in high school. Great memories!
D3cyTH3r it would've been more awesome to see it say Green Jello as that would definitely be a first pressing. Jello wanted to sue the band so that's why you see Jelly on later pressings.
The album titled _The Velvet Underground_ is not their debut but their third album. That's also not an original cover to _White Light/White Heat_ (at least, not an original U.S. cover). Finally, check the back of _The Velvet Underground and Nico_ to see if it has the Exploding Plastic Inevitable still with the image of Eric Emerson. If it does and it's not a reissue, then that's an original first pressing cover (which I had and sold when I was in my early 20s, drunk, and broke).
Last pile. 1. Dave Stewart was a member of the Eurythmics with Annie lennox. 2. Soul 2 Soul - Main man Jazzy B. Most notourious track, Back 2 Life with Karen Wheeler. 3. Arrested Development - Most famous track was Everyday People...Mr Wendel was also released as a single. 4. ?? 5. Heard of Daisy Chainsaw in my teens I think. Pretty sure they were loved by certain factions of skateboarders. 6. Nope, I have no idea either. 7. Belinda Carlisle. Famous 80's lady...ooh baby do you know what that's worth...oooh heaven is a place on earth...awful song. 8. No idea. 9. Wendy James was the lead singer of Transvision Vamp...she was / is / may still be hot!!
Paul Callaghan, Arrested Development track is actually called People Everyday. Lyrics are sung as everyday people but title is oddly the other way round. splitting hairs I know but ..........
Thanks for that. I stumbled across the tune that it was sampled from recently too. If I find it again, I shall post it. The main riff, unsurprisingly is a sample of Bob James.
Official UK chart and US Billboard positions for Arrested Development singles UK/US People Everyday 2/8 Mr Wendal/ Revolution 4/6 Tennessee 18/6 Ease My Mind 33/45 Revolution (From Malcolm X) - /90
Paul Callaghan Here in Germany, "Heaven is a place on earth" is part of the radioplay overplay hell. You will hear it at least once a day on pretty much any random radio station.
You must have broke into a cold sweat when you saw those like only a true record nerd would! Congrats Armien, some absolutely fantastic lp's in there and now you can blast the Spice Girls in style ;-) - Lj
Hey Armien Good too see you back and just wow! A great collection of some key 90s albums, and a great Xappa collection to boot. You always seem to have good luck on your travels, I'm still waiting for that big score! Cheers Dean
I love the layout/setup of your rooms and what an awesome, varied collection. She must of spent a fortune on that lot - Being British i know many of those mainstream bands as that was the music i grew up listening to.
What an awesome score! For the ones you don't know: Soul II Soul is UK R&B dance music. Arrested Development is great hip-hop, you'll dig that one. Belinda Carlisle is 1980's roller skating music in the US - pop vocal. Enjoy the excellent collection!
What a pick! I started to seriously drool as I saw the Weezer's blue and the sleeves condition of the LPs in the metal box. This opportunity had to be seized, definitely.
I know a couple of VC members did very well buying/flipping collections, making the hobby basically pay for itself while being able to siphon off the good/great records - I don't have that kind of patience though. Very cool, Armien. The 90s/Zappa/VU boxes were outstanding! Didn't know Belinda Carlisle from the Go Gos, huh - you must not have had the crush must of us in America did. Fun fact I just found out - she used to be a member of The Germs!
Just found this video. Amazing! I'm a rabid Danzig fan and lost my copy of the first Danzig record and im always on the hunt for it. Unfortunately the cost for it now is huge! Great job and may the road rise!
You have really been at it again this time ! Some really great stuff in there. I really lke the Madonna albums. I bought the Joy Divsion albums too lately as you might have seen on facebook.
That Wendy James LP is fantastic. Elvis Costello wrote the songs, she's the singer. Used to be in a band called Transvision Vamp. I've never seen that on vinyl before. I'm sure someone has already pointed out that Belinda Carlisle is the singer of the Go-Go's. Good stuff.
Daisy Chainsaw were an British anarcho/punk/artrock band with a demented singer Katy Jane Garside. Best known for the single "Love Your Money" from their debut Pink Flower. They spilt after this album which came out on UK indie label One Little indian, and became Queen Adreena.
Nice haul! Glad your back, always enjoy your videos. This is what you work hard for so when you find something worth buying you can afford it. Rega turntables have a lot of third party options to customize. I have two myself. I believe Barakdub has some youtube videos on his Rega customizations.
Thank You! You got me to take another look at my albums and while I do like the digital copies also, the vinyl does have a great sound. Fun to get some ideas of albums to look for. Thank You again.
You have really helped me when it comes to collecting vinyl records, especially when it comes to your love for the jazz genre which I have as well. I hope you are doing well, and upload something soon!
Part of me wants to feel happy for you. Lucky bloke! What a score! But the other side thinks obviously she wasn’t that old to have such an amazing collection. A well looked after collection. A loved collection. Which brings me to my point, what hardship or sad story made this lady need to sell? If I’d just parted with that loved collection and then saw this on RUclips I’d be gutted. Again, lucky you. But my heart goes out to the poor woman!!!
AWESOME collection. I got the impression this was a much older lady. So if the older, more mature women in your country and listening to Megadeth, Danzig, Hole, The Clash, Zappa, and so on, ON VINYL NO LESS.....I MOVING THERE RIGHT AWAY!!! Great scores man. I need so many of those pieces that I am totally jealous. Wait...Sophie B Hawkins and Belinda Carlisle...you have no idea who they are? Not possible! lol....because when they were big you could go a day without hearing them LOL Belinda Carlisle was the lead singer of the Go Gos. Hawkins had that hit "Dam..Wish I Was Your Lover". Take one listen and you will recall lol.
Holy shit this collection is insanneeeee . She had amazing taste clearly I’d love to meet her . God this is amazing I’m blown away . Just watching this gave me crazy chills .

Armien.....WOW I am blown away I would say this has to be the score of the year in the VC right now. So many titles I would love to own Danzig, FNM, WZ, Basically all of them insane !!!! Enjoy them ! WHAT A SCORE !! -VK
Monster Magnet. Awesome. You could spend $20 bucks on just one and spend your life trying to get all those. When people ask me if I buy records, they show me the good stuff. Ray Price and 101 Strings!
Holy jesus that's an amazing collection. I still need Danzig. Man what a lucky guy to find all of that. Awesome channel brother can't wait to see more videos.
Wow, that's quite a collection, Armien! I'd feel like I was dreaming to see all that there and in such good condition! :D it looks like you'll have a lot to listen to for awhile :)
Lol especially those beavis and butthead picture discs. I always see those there. And I'm just saying, most ppl had these albums from the first crate, but on CD
Armien! That is absolutely insane! To think you were looking for a turntable & found SO MUCH MORE! How do you do it?! :) Green Jelly (originally Green Jello; but had to change their name over a lawsuit) is best known for Three Little Pigs. 🎶 "NOT BY THE HAIR OF MY CHINNY CHIN CHIN." 🎶 Again awesome video. Thanks for sharing. -Brad
Why doesn't anyone ever realize the HUGE Influence on the American punk scene she had? Belinda was the original drummer of the great punk band the Germs
killer haul man! digging that How the Gods Kill and Countdown to Extinction...very hard to find. I've been looking for that that Warrior Soul Space Playboys vinyl. it came around '95-'96. cheers bro JC/Miami
that little old lady has killer taste! out of the unknowns you have, Green Jelly has associations with Gwar if that helps, Arrested Development were kind of a folky/roots kind of hip hop rythm and blues group. who had hits with "Tennessee" and "Mr. Wendell". killer rock and punk stuff, excellent score!
I love how he says "some other stuff" when he points to David Bowie
LOL
This is NUTS. You basically bought an entire record store from 1996.
yep,worth,,,what he paid.
Good lord this is the 90s holy grail. Congrats.
Where did you go man ? Are you okay? Please come back...your channel is so awesome!
It’s so strange that he has disappeared for over 5 years with no update. I hope he’s okay.

VILL4IN Hahaha, sure
VILL4IN hahaha
That Joy Division record is everything I could hope and dream to find. Especially if it's an original press
Tommy Yeargin I had that exact pressing of Still as well. It sounded amazing and obviously better than my CD copy.
Anyone else hoping that he will return one day? It's been almost 6 years, crazy
I’m guessing something happened. Four years is a long time. I really hope he’s ok.
I never have this kind of luck. Those danzig albums, just wow.
the best 2 danzig albums. wonder if there was any samhain or misfits in there

He's alright, he just posted a photo on Instagram

Probably somewhere in France or in a foreign country but the man is French you can tell !
Sultan Rex He’s actually German, it’s in his bio
@@peytonp8911 Is he ? Usually Germans can speak English with better accent than he does.
Sultan Rex he says he’s from Germany in his RUclips bio so I thought he was
I've never collected vinyl before, but I think I might start with my favourites - The Pixies :D
The only one I have on vinyl is Surfer Rosa.
I should just get them all.

Stéphane Pinck I still rock the blue album... Its all killer no filler. One of my favorite albums of all time.
Really jealous of those two German copies of Metallicas black album.
In the last stack you had Sophie B Hawkins of Damn Wish I Was Your Lover fame.
Man, that 90's stuff is amazing, literally I listen to most of that.
Excited to watch this! The thumbnail alone made me give a thumbs up. 👍

I think she is from UK and i think she sold her son's vinyl collection.
Amazing find! Congrats!!!! So much great stuff in there from an era where these albums were continually thrashed on compact disc.
She obviously stole my record collection. I've been looking for it. I think you need to return it to me immediately! 😉
Amazing score!
Really fantastic stuff in there! The 90s were the best decade for music by far.
Hm... not in the UK. Probably the low point.
Belinda Carlisle 14:31 was the lead singer of the Go-Go's
she did songs such as
"heaven is a place on earth"
"we got the beat"
"runaway horses"
Holy shitttttt. These records are all worth serious money.
Enjoying watching all your videos from beautiful downtown Fifty-Six, Arkansas!
How could you NOT know Belinda Carlisle [The Go-Go's lead singer]?
Because she's only popular in the States.
and the UK as well.
george price and Australia too......
I stand corrected. My point is she WAS popular in the 80s and not too many people may remember her outside the anglo-saxon world.
Exactly,Wade!
This woman had a collection with artists ranging from frank zappa, captain beefheart and VU to the spice girls. Just let that sink in for a moment.
That is the mother haul of all hauls
For some, the hobby has more in common with stamp collecting than a genuine interest in music
Where are you? Over a years ago for your last video. Are you oké? Greetings from Rob in Rotterdam, the Netherlands
