The Last American flag to Leave Iraq with US Army.
AH64 attack helicopter.
Safwan city in Iraq was the crossing point back into Kuwait. He flew Halo over highway 1 which was their route.
That is his last flight as a Squadron commander and what ended up being his last flight

Attack Helicopter watching out for bad guys for the ground guys.
Geoff did three tours to Iraq. It was his second, tour that was 15 months that he cleaned out Sadar city. His unit was 4th squadron 3rd armored cavalry. Longknifes. His third tour was when he was the last one out while in command.

Uk here, my "grandad" was American, 82nd airbourne, 1944/45 based at braunstone park leicester 1944.

The majority of the American flag IS made in America ~ the smaller flags on sticks I believe are made in China/Taiwan. Each flags that are placed on the graves for holidays Memorial Day are also from the states. We have during the Christmas time we have what is called WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA, for VETERANS that takes place either the first or third weekend. It's a convoy of special big rigs (Red White and Blue that says pretty much Driving across America to deliver these Christmas wreaths to the veterans Graves. Many people volunteer their time with the Military to place in the headstones.
It's a beautiful thing to see these trucks roll past you on the highway ~ got to see them four years ago. Somehow, it just gives one pride and reverence for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you for honoring our American flag. 🙏🇺🇲🪖✨

Thanks Graham ! My dad n Uncle were in WWII…. Army , was with all the troops when Patton was giving his big speech …. One of my brothers flew Navy , was over in Beirut …. My brother in law was a medic in Nam he was Marines ..

Very cool! Definitely not as impressive as your souvenier but I have one flown in Afghanistan, a Unit coin and a "Come and Take It" flag that had to be taken down so the unit wasn't mistaken for surrender. Texans! haha
That’s so neat Graham , looks great. I just got done painting a rock with American 🇺🇸 flag. The rocks I paint on come from Lake Erie in Conneaut Ohio. Good size flat, less than half inch thick and smooth from the waves. Working on a Great Lake Freighter and Jeep rocks lol. 🇺🇸

I have my father's sterling silver jump wings from WW2. My big sister gave them to me, when she came and watched one of my jumps and made me cry. I also fly the stars and bars, everyday, 24/7, day and night. I love that you were given a flag, that comes with a remarkable past.

Graham I'm so pleased for you, wow !!!!. Don't ever let the flag go or get damaged. I feel the same way of my dad's merchant navy items off the HMS Amethyst as I have real letters from the history of what happened in China and the sailors who were in the hospital and got transferred to HMS Concord lol. I have a actual letter proving that some of the film with Richard Todd was in with The Yangtze Incident was true about HMS Amethyst as my own father was on the boat and part of that history. I have items that the museum doesn't have as it's all got my dad's details on it all. It's part of history same as my grandfathers stuff too from the second world war lol. I have the original copies that was given out to people to build shelters in the gardens lol. I see it as this is our history and they lived through it all and we should be proud of them who served in the wars. This is why I respect the real heros of the day lol.m

Graham you need to take that flag and fold it and put it in a glass frame. There is a special way to fold it. That is an historical flag. Ask your friend how to fold it. Also put a plaque detailing the story of the flag. Enjoy. Just love our American flag. Some of my family members served in that war.
I have the original box it came it with the folding instructions.
Make sure you have a Notarized Document providing Provenance for Old Glory.
That would only apply if It was for sale, but I know what you mean.

I love the flag! Being a foreigner, are you bound by all the ceremony involved? For instance, it’s not supposed to touch the ground. If it does, it must be ritually destroyed by fire. When hanging it vertically, the field of stars is to be upper left. I’m GenX, & we recited the pledge of allegiance every morning in school. I was successfully propagandized to defend it. I don’t think they even teach this anymore. Sad. Love ya! 🎉❤
