The ridiculous thing is that once she gets out, she likely won't have a hard time getting employment like so many other inmates do.
This woman sickens me. That she was offered any kind of plea deal at all is unfortunate and bothersome, but I have no doubt she will spend a great deal of time in prison and I’m glad for that. After watching the gut-wrenching Shonda Vander Ark trial recently, I am more convinced than ever that these monstrous child abusers should be dealt with in the harshest manner allowed by law and should be at the high end always regarding sentencing. These horrific situations must be deterred as much as possible and only swift convictions and lengthy prison sentences would be a step in the right direction.

I dont understand what was the plea agreement? Her sentence hearing is february 10th right? So that means shes in jail until feb to then here how long she need to do jail time or does the plea mean she might get out faster ?

Nope. She was with Jody for years. She was who recommended that wilderness camp for the boy. She just didn’t talk about her. She was often referred to them as church council support etc

Jodi was referred to the Frankie’s by the LDS church as a marriage counselor because Kevin and Ruby were having problems in the marriage. Jodi began working with the Frankie’s in 2020 and ultimately chased Kevin away from the family in April of 2022 and got him fired from BYU. This is even Shari moved out and cut ties with both of her parents and when Ruby began working with Jodi at ConneXions. Ruby & Kevin started their RUclips channel in 2015 where they were seen treating those kids horribly by withholding food,water and the basic essentials. It was so bad that viewers began calling CPS out in Utah which prompted many visits but nothing was ever done. People also began reporting their content to RUclips which ultimately resulted in their channel being deleted. I’m going to assume that you never watched their channel because it was clear as day that Ruby is unhinged and her husband is a cocky demanding abusive pos.

There was a book she was told to read. Which the church aka Jodi told her to read. Jodi was the leader of the church for the family side for many years. Ruby. Didn’t say it was jody. She mentioned she got a book from her church. And suptle things she states in the vlogs and more she didn’t say. If this goes to a court proceedings you will see my point and that I am right. So what ever.
And some things she did were not deemed as abuse. But rather something you would prob not consider doing it that way.

I hope the sentence is not some little slap on her wrist because we all know the last two kiddos are still vulnerable and she and Kevin will go back to over abusing their kids.
She pleads guilty now but she has the chance to stop treating her littles like that but she didn’t.
The way she walked in and smiled at the officer was sick. She doesn't deserve any kind of plea deal. She is 100% mentally capable, she wasn't brain washed. She had enough mental competency to record, edit, and upload video after video literally until the day she was arrested. Shes GUILTY.
Deresrve a plea deal? She made a plea agreement, not a deal. She accepting that she’s guilty and will get the appropriate sentence. This plea agreement won’t benefit her in anyway and it’s what’s best for the children.
She didn't smile at the officer. Her relatives were sitting right there, so she smiled at them.

It would have been helpful if they said what each count was for, instead of just saying 1 through 4. For what charge & against who? They still could have protected the children by saying child #1 & so on. Was it for the starvation, physical binding, isolation? It seems like she's protected.

Her family must be so proud of themselves that they chose not to intervene. They were complicit.
They were cut off. It’s how Jodi operates. Ruby was not safe for them as they were needing to protect their own families from connections. It’s a cult. Cults cut off. The family took in Shari when she got cut off. The family isn’t responsible. They didn’t see. They heard some from Shari. Even Shari called 911 on her parents. They just didn’t catch enough of it. Jodi had the dad out of the house, they kids out of school and the older daughter cut off after telling Ruby to cut out the non connexions family. It was so they could be free to torment the kids without anyone knowing.

They did call. She cut them out before they saw the worst of it. That is how cults act. They isolate from family, school, work and then do the worst. The public was even calling on them stuff from the channel. Shari called, the family embraced Shari when she was cut off. Neighbors also called. She had to be caught doing something really serious turns out.

The Judge needs to give no weight to her plea. She is not remorseful in the least. You can read it on her face. Given the chance she will return to her methods of child abuse in the guise of discipline. A sentence at least until her youngest child is 18 and no contact is the least she should expect.

A plea for a woman that starved her children and tied them up with duct tape, and scared them for the remainder of their lives. These children's children will be affected by this monsters choices and she gets a plea. Her kids pleaded for food, they pleaded for a bed, the pleaded for love. While I am glad this will spare all the children from having to testify, at the same time I hate that a trial won't be happening to get all the facts out there as to what these monsters have been doing for YEARS now, not just the recent events that led to the arrest. There won't be any justice for the older children and what they suffered!
Jodi still has to be dealt with, and there will likely be a lot of people willing to sit in court to tell how she abused them. So, you will likely get the dirt you are after.
@@Ronibearable no, she has a hearing scheduled as well, right after Christmas, so she'll likely be taking a plea deal also. It's not about the dirt, we saw it all unfold in Ruby's vlogs, it's about the victims getting their chance to face her and call them out.
@@2Blessed You do understand that the person arrested does not get to just "get" a plea deal right? They are offered by the prosecution, it's not a right for the defendant to just receive one. If the prosecution does not offer, the it does not matter what Jodi wants or doesn't want.

@@2Blessed Part of the Plea for Ruby is that she agrees to testify against Jodi. (look it up and READ it) If the prosecution intended to give Jodi a plea deal, then why would they include that in the deal for Ruby? Also, keep in mind that no one is prosecuting any abuse prior to the few months at Jodi's house. While I understand that many feel that it should be, they aren't. What they have accomplished is this.. an extremely fast outcome ending in 4 felony counts that will result in significant time, along with the agreement to testify against Jodi. Go READ what Ruby ADMITTED to! It's not going to be a 6 month sentence, I can assure you based on what SHE admits to. It's worse than anyone imagined! This is going to be an extended sentence for both of them.

Closing her eyes and taking deep breaths every times she admits her guilt, trying to act as if she feels remorse now… she should have done that when raising those children take deep breaths and walk away instead of torturing them. I was Abused as a child, now I have three of my own, not once have I even thought of doing anything to them. She was not brain washed , she did everything she WANTED to do to those children, why would her oldest daughter post “finally” when news of her being arrested got out. Her husband is also guilty. A father will stay away from his children for more than a year??? Plus they are lds, it’s in their religion to seek help through church members and even the law. They are smart ,educated and wealthy enough to play and work the system. And her smiling ? Sick human.

The over acting at each charge was telling, she still wants to gaslight and has no genuine remorse. Even when she glanced at her lawyer, she just had to do a deep scan, she just couldn't stop analysing even in court. If she gets let loose and is free range, we may see her again.

You do realize that Consecutive is the better of the two options... if she gets 2 years each count, that would be 8 years total. It's concurrent that runs them all at the same time... consecutive means one at a time and so they stack up. Websters works.

What is a Rule 11 plea?
As much as I absolutely hate this woman and what she has done to her own kids, I am happy that said kids won't have to relive their trauma by testifying against her. I had to testify against my father with him in the court room, glaring me down as his sick attorney tried to twist my words against my siblings', all the while seeing my mom silently crying on her side of the room.
I am so happy to hear that whatever her sentence is for each count, that they all must be served consecutively instead of concurrently, even if she gets 2 years per count, she is in prison for 16 years. Of course I want nothing more than for her to receive maximum penalty for each, but considering it's a plea deal, that isn't likely.
I also think it is interesting that she is trying to throw Jodi under the bus when people have been sounding the alarm against her abuse years before that psycho entered the picture. Now, that isn't me saying that she doesn't deserve every awful thing coming towards her, Jodi is an abusive monster and has been one for years, but all Jodi did with Ruby is escalate her already abusive tendencies. She didn't turn Ruby into an abuser, she already was one.
I pray that they both get locked up behind bars for many, many years to come.

I was glad to come across your comment, as I was beginning to think I was the only one to notice the "consecutive" part.
But how are you getting 16 years? It seems like 2 charges may have been dropped. So: 2 years x 4 charges = an 8 year sentence.
To me she appears genuinely afraid. I watched a lot of the body language videos on her and Jodi and I got the impression that Ruby is dumb as a stump and Jodi manipulated her easily.
Both her and her husband are psychos (imo) but unfortunately the child abuse charges are just for the most recent abuses, if they _were_ to charge her husband then they would also have to hold RUclips accountable, and they will never do that.

Prayers for you, for the what despicable trauma you had to endure... I did, too. Thought after my father passed it'd really help me deal with it better...didn't happen. I strive daily to be an overcome. Please know -- you are NOT alone...🙏💞

I blame her upbringing in that "church" that seems to have harmed a lot. of people and her parents as well. But I blame her for her life choices and taking the side of Jodi over her families. I really hope that justice will be served eventually and that the children are taken care of as they should be.....
It’s sad to think about what the children are enduring now. I know they are out of their parents abuse, but I have to consider the conditions they are living under now. Where are they, are they together? I was in the care of foster homes and a baptist children’s home from age 8-12, and I don’t have the words to tell you the sense of loss and sadness I felt. Some of the stories of those years are still with me and bring tears to my eyes, and I’m now an 81 year old woman. I never stopped loving or needing the presence of my parents no matter what, even today, after all these years. It’s the children that suffer more than anyone else, for the rest of their lives. My thoughts and prayers are with them through this holiday season, and always. I know how they must be feeling.

I watched 8 Passengers as vloggers for a few years. I slowly stopped as u could see things weren't right. Like the youngest forgetting her lunch and the mom said she can be hungry don't feed her think she was 5. Then the oldest brother played a prank and punishment they removed his bed. You just don't kids don't learn.
It was nice to see her family in the court and I hope Ruby looked at them and felt bad. I can't even imagine how the kids feel. Even her parents and siblings.
