I feel the same way about death in the family, loved it as a kid who got the trade paperback in the UK now ive got the number 428 in my PC years later and its very undervalued I feel. Would definitely make a awesome movie, love the Joker as iranian ambassador could see that in a movie for sure.
I have all of these aside from 1st Gambit and 1st Deadpool, and I have no desire to own either of them. Hard to find 1st Hobgoblin w Tatooz ! My copy was purchased over 20 years ago and even then you couldn't find one with Tatooz.
I don't have Wolvie 1 but I did recently get two beautiful copies of 2 and 3 (raw) for a nice price and was very pleased. I think that if you can find high grade newsstand of some of these issues, even its VF do it.
@@mightycomicsandcollectibles It's too late to beat any hype. But I scored what I believe to be a high grade copy of Sandman #1 at $217 which is still a fair price imo and I don't carry fomo about it anymore.
1st Harley Quinn is still a great book to get but it has cooled off quite a bit. The character is still very popular though and it's a blue chipper 4 sure. I dont have one because again, I don't purchase books of that value if the character doesn't rate high with me. But from an investment standpoint - I would recommend it to anyone.
Ah secret wars 8 my fav with ASM 300. Secret wars 8 is soooo under valued and for 350 on a 9.6 is cheap. That will def be a 1k book at 9.6 when Peters suit turns black...
Hello collecting fam..I enjoy these posts. But when I hear only buy high grade just makes me have to message and give a flip side to those statements. While I respect everyone's opinions. Ones like this couldn't be more wrong. If you are a newer collector. This advice is very bad in my opinion. Spending thousands on high grades may work for some. And I have all these books mentioned including the TMNT #1. Not tooting my own horn. But when collectors ask me how I have so many grails. I simply say I wasn't picky on the big books I wanted. Didny listen to only buy high grade 3 to 4 years ago. If I did I wouldnt have xmen gaint size #1 hulk 180, 181and 182 in multiple copies. And 100s more of those type of books.. Buy what you can afford and if the grade isn't the best dont worry about that. I bought 3 copies of asm #300 for $100 bucks each raw in about 7 to 8 grade range. Do you think I'm ever worried about what that book is selling for in high grade. Nope I just know my $100 bucks was a smart buy. And is alot more for those books today even into those grade ranges...Not dropping 800.00+ on one higher grade copy a couple years back. Or the $150.00 spent on fantastic four #48 in a 3.5 range. It doesn't bother me if the 9.8 went down from 15k to 12k or whatever the crazy prices have gone up to recently. For collectors that spend crazy money they have to worry. And thats cool if that's how they want to collect. But to hear stay away from new mutants #98 unless it's a 9.6 or higher is insane to me..I'd take a 7.0 or whatever grade it was if the deal is right. If you want those kind of grails/keys. Go with what you can afford. I own 6 copies of New Mutants #98 6.0 to 9.6 some I bought for $50 some I bought for 2 to 3 Bills. But I love them all the same. Not tearing this dude down at all. Just calling no way.. on the takes of only buy high grade. Most collectors I know. use the saying low grade better then no grade. Think about that...:) dont be scared to get a big book for a great price even if the book isn't perfect. You may be surprised. As the higher grades go crazy prices wise. They will pull up even the lower and mid grades value way up as well. And you won't break the bank trying to just buy one key high grade. You might be able to buy 3 or 4 big keys at the same price as that one high grade. That's the way I collect and its never done me wrong over the last 8 years. :) just collect what you like at your budget. I don't high grade chase nor does my close circle of collectors. And we all have amazing PCs. Just my humble advice to the collecting fam. :) and I enjoy this man's content just dont agree with his collecting advice. Hes not alone. many collectors wouldnt touch a 5.0 book. Hahahaha that's ok. Collectors like me would be there happy to buy those books. And I have.... ;) be safe and blessed all.
@@browngreen933 Its really not set in stone though. Some ppl still consider Bronze Age to run through to 1987. Copper Age should end in 1992 with the release of Spawn # 1 as the beginning of the Modern Age.
@@mightycomicsandcollectibles There are some ppl who think that the Copper Age is not even worthy of distinction because it is too short of a time period. I am not one of them because I think that in the mid 80s, right around the time of Secret Wars, the comic industry began changing.
You can buy buy buy but sell before you die! Leaving collection for your kids or family is not a good thing. I see it all the time the shops pay crap and the family takes it and happy they got rid of it. Kids today will not want any of it they will be part of the great reset. It's already started. You will own nothing and you will be happy!
You just said that your favorite version of Robin is the one who gets beaten to death with a crowbar. What does that say about the Robin character? That nobody likes him. He needs to just go away forever.
