Omg she knocks the fashionistas out of the park! I love her wheelchair so much because the barbie ones are more like the temporary hospital wheelchairs, the defa lucy wheelchair is a low back chair which is great for people with a lot of upper body mobility and allows them more control over their chairs (no elbows knocking into those tall backs lol). And many longterm wheelchair users customize their chairs with stickers, spray paint, wheel covers, so she is like. Literally there are alt fashion girlies who use chairs just like her thats so crazy i love her! ❤❤❤
I've been wanting a barbie with a cool tricked out wheelchair for a while so I'm glad defalucy is doing it.

I love that they show her standing on the back of the packaging. There are a lot of part-time wheelchair users and I love the representation in toys. My grandmother is a part-time wheelchair user and my doctor and I are fairly sure I have the same thing that she has (just not as severe)

Thats really good the doll brand is giving attention to details like some do playground equipment or salon booths because it promotes sales. The design of the wheelchair is cool pretty and compact it could be sold separate too so customizing characters is more broad options to buyers.
I got the new Barbie Looks dolls today! I got the blonde girl with the blue dress and the red haired girl in the purple. They are so beautiful! I'll be getting the rest soon. I got the one dude in this round of Barbie Looks, too. He's OK. Lol.LOL. I got this Defa Lucy girl a few weeks ago. I think she is my favorite dfa Lucy girl.

When I saw the wheelchair "The Jetsons" cartoon theme came in my head with "Daughter Judy"! Lol. The chair is like a futuristic wheelchair. Also, is it me, or are the doll rooting getting better on these dolls? Hopefully, Defa Lucy will keep improving and maybe adding guy dolls and more diversity. I love how loving, caring, and helpful mini Arjen is with this girl. I like to think she just had an operation and needs confidence and help to learn to walk again. Love the video.❤

Defa Lucy dolls have some interesting looks. I like the face screening on most but, as you know, the hair can be awful to restyle. The all pastels of this wheelchair doll is delightful but the design of the chair is flawed. She couldn’t push the chair on her own . However, it’s a doll and made for play so that can be put aside. I’m in a power chair and would love it to be pastel…. I always, ALWAYS, enjoy your content. Thank you. 🩷🌷🩷 p.s. I say magenta too. 👍🏻
I was thinking the same thing about the design. She can’t reach the wheels, and if she needs help being pushed around, there’s no handles at the back either. As a fellow power chair user, I totally feel your want to deco your chair! ♥️
Power chair user too..I wish they had a little nob on the arm so it looked like it was a power chair..def wish there was a way to customize our chairs..I just have mine decked out in stickers and a colorful side bag

What do you do with all of the original made to move heads? I’m imagining you showing up to a thrift store with a bucket of Barbie heads and wondering why you’re getting weird looks. 😂
😄 That would be a sight! I'm thinking maybe he puts the made-to-move heads onto the bodies that came with the new dolls.
I actually am quite a fan of Defa Lucy. I have now a few of them. The ones with the 5 point of articulation, I swapped on Barbie extra bodies. As they just sit on display, and I am not doing doll photography, I am happy enough with the 11 points of articulation and lesser visible joints. ;) The Barbie mermaids I have on mtm, so they are able to touch their bum with their feet for extra fishy poses, as they still are mermaids. I do not dislike mtm, they are just not my preferred look. XD
I love the faces of the Lucy dolls, they are beautiful, no paint bucket make up, not pixelated, not wonky, and have personality. Sure they are still somewhat lacking diversity, but they have a lot of potential.
I got my first Barbie in 1989, when we were first time allowed to visit the western side of Germany, It was dance magic Barbie. I was 8 years old, since then I was hooked. And in that time, there was not a lot of diversity either with Barbie, nor Steffi Love. They both developed a lot. I mean Steffi in the 90s was dreadful, now at least she is ok ish. I love how inclusive Barbie became, but still I wished they kept the level of quality and fantasy in fashion they once had.

I tried really hard to like Defa Lucy... But i can't make myself to like her.
I have multiples disabilities .. not in a werlchair but i have orthesis for my legand my arm. i have hydrocephalus.. its okay now but wasnt easy back then.. i lost almost all of my visual fields and seeing dolls with wherlchairs, orthesis and prosthetic s... love love love... i would love to make for me a mini me with a white can.. so sad that reel wheelchair or orthesis aren't these cool colors.. love the design too but it isn't look like practical

Nope! How is she supposed to use her wheelchair?!?! There's a huge hunk of plastic covering the wheels so she can't touch them!!! Huge fail! A for effort as she's aesthetically pleasing. I love the leg braces they're such a wonderful touch as they show she's independent & capable of using her legs for some tasks & which is rather realistic. Yet, as someone who uses a wheelchair from time to time, it's a fail. The plastic covering strips away independence, making her rely on someone to push her. As It's not even a power chair.*
She's not helpless, her legs just aren't reliable.
Most wheelchair users who are capable of using their arms use them as much as possible. It's a source of pride, independence & much needed exercise.
*the cushions & wheels arm rests are complete different plus there's a lack of arm rests.
Yeah my dad is a part time wheel chair user, and I saw that the plastic covering would prevent her from using it independently too 😢 like that they tried something new though! Hopefully they’ll improve that!
