@@jrgills certainly every online qualifier will have a registration fee as well as registering for each tour event and then in person ticket sales and eventually title sponsors & media vendors etc.
I didn't miss the SoCal event, watched every minute of it! And aside from the wet floors at night with athletes sliding around and the obvious difference in spectators than you would typically see at Miami Wodapalooza, SoCal did go very well for a first year event 😎
It will be interesting to see how the 40 invited athletes compete against each other and challengers. I wonder how many athletes of the original 40 invitationals earn Pro cards for 2025.
Justin is turning into the Detroit pistons of CrossFit. 2 in a row but getting lost in memory due to his attitude since he lost his edge. Coincidentally it was when he started a relationship and opened the perception that he cares more about that then winning. All that is fine but you can’t hate on the critics when you knew that was going to happen.
He looked so good this year at the West Coast Classic Semifinals, he was dialed in. But then the Games happened. I am not giving up the idea of him making a valid run at it again just yet. But I am very surprised by the blocking.
This year will be interesting w WFP and CF since there’s only 3 events. When there’s 6 WFP events there is gonna be overlap. There is always the possibility that if WFP is successful, private equity will just cancel the Games rather than try and compete. And your mom mode was hilarious!
Haha that's not a bad idea. Miami spectator traffic is 10x the amount of what SoCal was. Will be interesting to see how it all goes first year new spot.
Ever since Ellie entered Justins life, she has dragged him down. But that says alot about him as well. You are a 2x games champ and you are changing who you are for this Australian that hates America.
Most beta males do this, they completely abandon who they are and acquiesce to become what he assumes would make him more attractive to his girl. In this process, the man strips away all the attractive traits that attracted her to him in the first place, becoming something he assumes would qualify to her and “lock her down”, but does the opposite and makes him boring and unattractive. Guys could have whole the world in the palm of their hand, but once they get with a woman, they change, and their entire relationship and lives spiral out of control. Justin and her will be broken up/separated within a year or two. Faster if he’s more assertive and self aware, longer if not.
It’s not like Dave Castro is the only one who can run a competition. Rogue sets the standard. Better programming, better streaming, bigger payouts. Competition is good. Crossfit has seen no progression since forcing Greg out. Maybe this is what it needs to rise from complacency and start evolving again.
The Games is hardly just any competition. I do not think the Rogue programming is better, it is simply different. The streaming was pretty amazing with the VR rooms and other options, but the major thing you got WRONG is the payouts. Each placement at Rogue down to the 9th place finisher paid anywhere from $33k to $13k less than the CrossFit Games depending on the placement..the 18th place finisher at the Games got $5k more than Rogue...and the Games not only pays the individual athletes but also the Teams, Masters and Teens.
@@daveanderson4406 well it was stated as a fact. Affiliate teams go way further in the games comp process... And if rules are stricter... Teams may be what really keeps the CF games comps going. These events don't make money. They've been struggling in attendance. People show up to see their affiliates comp. I was one. It's only semi I attended. CF makes money off affiliates not off the big games athletes competing.
@ Going great! Private Equity continues making the case for why affiliates and high-level athletes should abandon CrossFit. We will provide them an alternative that affiliated gyms will own and the revenue collected will be used to promote, defend, and differentiate the brand instead of profits for Private Equity.
Not shocked Ellie and Justin blocked spin + Sevan and crew. It’s clear they are all just completely self serving, inappropriate, disrespectful + not people that any major label would want to be associated with.
Self serving ? Sevy and crew have driven CrossFit forward, only supporting the affiliates and GIVING to the athletes. You saying inappropriate in a world where women can show they’re buttholes on insta is hilarious
How does the WFP plan to make money…? In-person comps are really expensive

Sorry if it was in the original podcast but what is the role of the PFAA in the WFP? Are they nosing in that too?
Will has talked to Brent and the PFAA about basic things, movement standard recommendations and such but no official partnership mentioned as of yet.
@ PFAA = 🤡 , thanks for the update. You’re the best!
Thanks for keeping us updated!
You're welcome!
No trolling at all! You missed SoCal- it was on the beach, and went very well. Definitely wear your shoes though.

Also curious what prize money will be for each Tour event. That wasn’t asked.
The WFP needs to reach out to big time sponsors like Budweiser coke and Apple. Then it will be real league
Maybe they have 🤷♀
I struggle to see how this goes past 1 year 15mil aint alot to get something like this off the ground lets see if they can pull it off
