I was about to say that as well. To be honest I loved the anime and how every episode had an underlying theme of one of the deadly sins and that the overarching theme was how someone's actions has consiquensis. You saved the day and gave back the food to the starving people.......then what? Do you properly distribute the food to the people or do you just want away and let the people go bat shit crazy from the lack of leadership? But now comparing it to the game......I thought it was faithful twords the gaming machanics, BUT not the plot. Like you have characters using in-game abilities that actually pertains to there classes, and even the final boss was cool with a nod to the flying in the back.......that and Ethan is the actual Default character model from the game all the way down to his actual name. BUT plot wise it's the bare bones of the games plot. I mean I would have preferred that your town was destroyed and you're wife murdered so that you as the character would have something definitely driving you to go after the dragon in the game BUT that's not what happens in the game.
@@grosslyincandescentgaming5130 its not supposed to be a retelling of the game nor was it ever supposed to be it seems. I would've preferred if it was but you cant really judge them for something they never set off to do. the anime is probably supposed to be a prequel or an entirely different world considering dragons dogma has multiverse in it.
@@xdervin6114 I actually prefer the depiction of the Dragon's Dogma world in the anime to the game, the overworld in the game was really small and didn't have a ton of content meanwhile the anime's world feels much bigger imo. (Also the story was very basic in the base game)
"What is your purpose here, Arisen? If you sought to live, you had naught but run and hide yourself away. But then, tell me, child of man... what does it mean to live, in truth? To wage war against the passing of days? To pray to the unseen for a few breaths more? To raise grand cities from stone and spawn new life in turn? Mankind has done this, yes, and more. But is the tapestry you weave truly of your own design?" "We eats when 'ungry an' we sleep when tired of eatin'! We kills 'em when we wants 'em dead!" "Their kind is easy to fathom. They go on living from simple fear of death. But not mankind. Some welcome the end with arms outstretched, while others come to face death incarnate, arms in hand. I ask again. What is your purpose here, Arisen? One path to your survival lies in my defeat. Still my heart, and you stay the coming end. Another path before you... Is to offer up that which you hold most dear. Abandon all delusions of control. For the price of a single life, I shall leave this land in peace. As my vanquisher, the duchy would bow to you. Wealth and Power are sweet anodyne for heartache. You'll not gainsay my terms are more than generous. If it matters aught, the man who rules this land now won that honor through just such a bargain. The decision is yours, Arisen. Now, choose!"
Of course it's not good with the Netflix cheapskates. They gave the job to Sublimation, a studio that primarily does 3D GCI work for other studio's works and have only 4 anime titles in their name. Studio MAPPA would have fit the job like a glove, especially after seeing the amount of great work they have done in Garo (Live action to anime adaptation) and Rage of Bahamut (TCG to anime adaptation) but they're probably busy enough already with Attack on Titan S4. What a wasted opportunity. At least the IP isn't dead I guess. Maybe a 2nd game will come at some point? (please Capcom)
Anyone that even remotely likes this show should just watch the older anime of/read Berserk. It’s much better and has a writer that actually knows how to write trauma and rage.
Anime and 3D blender models together makes me mad, how is the case that in the 90’s with less money and technology the animation in 2D was miles better than 2021 animation, we live in the cursed timeline
personally i think the anime was interesting and i did enjoy my time, it was cool to see some of the monsters in action and seeing that Succubai aren't just glorified harpies and what not, but it really pales on comparison to the game, especially with that really bizarre 7 deadly sins thing, i seriously didn't know why they did that when the game is about something MASSIVLY different and a little ps note to add, i think the BIGGESR reason i enjoyed it just abit more then most is we are seriously lacking in dragons dogma thing (also still low key sad Dragons dogma online not only never came to the west but shut down) but most of all im way to dissapointed that Grigori sounds so.....modern? idk how else to put it, sound slike a gruffy gumpy old giant rather then a philological dragon
I liked the Seven Deadly Sins thing, personally. It's a logical addition to the lore. In the game, the Arisen needed to demonstrate their strong will, the will to defy destiny. Which is good and all, but evil people can be strong-willed and powerful as well. And considering that the Arisen is supposed to become GOD HIMSELF, it makes sense that the rules would be more strict. Now, the Arisen has to be a noble, incorruptible human being by overcoming and rising above the Seven Deadly Sins of man.
I enjoyed it as well. I dont think it was meant to emulate the game's story cause... i couldnt take the actual story all that seriously lol. but i think it did its job personally. But it'd be weird for someone who doesnt know about Dragons Dogma to watch it.
My gripes with the show (aside from the animation) is that instead of working from the base game and actually providing a nice, more complete plot that plays on the events and some sidequests from the game, they used a different episodic 'story' altogether. Also, what they did to Grigori's voice and overall demeanor is a travesty. My man went from a really imponent, scary and calculating figure that just does its job as part of the Grand Design, to a generic monster bad guy.
The part that i was annoyed me the most, is David Lodge returns to voice the Dragon, it is the same voice actor, but they pitched his voice to a point where it doesn’t even sound like him
Netflix adaptations and a lot of their own new shows/movies don't tend to be great. Take their Ghost In The Shell Netflix anime compared to the original anime film and especially Ghost In The Shell SAC? No contest the older show and anime were better. Aggretsuko, Brand New Animal, and Beastsars are probably better than the CGI stuff. Can't wait to not watch their awful adaptation of Resident Evil. Yes, i know it is live action, but will still be an awful adaptation. It's not Resident Evil at all, the 1st live action 2002 RE film is more RE than what Netflix is doing lol. They should just make these stuff new shows, as their not even trying to adapt the games their based on. Heck even the Sonic The Hedgehog movie did this better. Can you believe Netflix cancelled The Dark Crystal show, but keeps and defends Cuties? Damn...
I liked Castlevania (season 1&2 anyway) so I had hopes this would be at least somewhat faithful to the game, but yeah it's Netflix so I should've lowered my expectations. I didn't even know about the live action Resident Evil movie. Now I have to watch it when it comes out lol. Expect a video on that if it's bad enough (or good enough?).
@Synthetic Man, I liked Season 1 of Castlevania too, even bought the blu ray. But didn't like season 2 as much and season 3 went full Wokevania. Creator of the show admitted to never playing the games or even trying to remain faithful to the lore. Recommend looking up the plot synopsis, it just sounds like a generic Zombie apocalypse show with the RE name pasted to it. Plus we're gonna have not 1, but 2 potential super Mary Sue characters who are Albert Wesker's "daughters." And wokeness too of course. Lol, probably gonna offer excellent material for RUclips reviewers like you. Btw, thoughts on Microsoft purchasing Bethesda? Hope they don't buy any single player focused Japanese devs.
@@Gruntvc Not a fan that they bought Bethesda as an anti-monopoly type of guy, as it points to a Cyberpunk-like future where 6 publishers control 80% of game releases. That being said, Zenimax is a shit company and Bethesda has catered too hard to the casual market in the last 5 years. So maybe Microsoft will put some new management in charge. As long as Bethesda, Id soft, Arkane, etc.'s games come to PC then it won't affect me anyway
@Synthetic Man, I agree, that'd be a dystopian future not worth looking forward to. Id Software is probably the best dev left at Bethesda. Hope Microsoft doesn't ruin them, not even Activision went that far. Maybe Microsoft will bring MachineGames into line or just reboot Wolfenstein. Sucks they started out so great with New Order and Old Blood only to then crash the reboot into the ground with New Colossus and especially Youngblood. Microsoft hasn't exactly been the best to the studios they've purchased. They tend to force online focused stuff onto traditionally single player focused devs during the Xbox One gen.
Not once to my knowledge was eternal return played, the main theme of the game. That really disappointed me and the final fight with the dragon was boring compared to the game. Spoilers to those that haven't played the game or saw the anime and want to, but in the game you run through a ruined mountain kingdom, and destroyed fortresses. Then you fly on the dragons back while harpies attack you as you make your way up his back, and then finally you fight the dragon in what he claims to be the center of creation. In the anime they fight, Ethan rides on the back of the dragon, they talk, then crash land, and finally the dragon is slain.
The game is full Of berserk reference and the original ver had Griffith and Guts golden age arc weapons and armor set to buy but were removed on the later vers.
Carnivorus I was actually talking about the White hawk armor set which is basically Griffith’s Armor from the series. (It was removed in the releases of the game because of licensing).
I like what I've seen so far of this series. I enjoy the animation and like the fact that the guy is hyper emotional because of the trauma he experienced and the pawn is super methodical. Nice contrast there especially since traditionally, the roles are usually reversed. But I like the main character because he is a badass and can show his real emotions. Then the girl is super chill and rational about every encounter. It's cool. I recommend it.
@@zironthegamer The anime doesn't seem to follow the game's lore, while the premise is the same, Dragon attacks Village and rips out Protagonist's heart, but that's it The Dragon doesn't give Ethan the choice to turn back, Ethan turns into a Dragon not by failing to defeat the Seneschal but by committing a "Sin of Pride" etc
That just feels like a weird reason to like the show. The dynamic was not really done that well at all, in fact, that's how it should be done considering that's the lore of the game.
@@dangerousish7837 my friend. Thanks for your opinion. However, I strongly recommend you checkout my full explanation of Dragon's Dogma according to Castle video on my channel if you truly want to experience what it meant to be the Arisen. I like it too, yeah there are 2 or 3 things i can complain but are just nitpics, nothing that kill the story, i want a 2 season but dont know if will have one... :c
One thing I don’t like about the series is Ethan and Hannah’s sudden shift in personality: Ethan may have been motivated by getting revenge on the Dragon but he was still a decent guy who went out of his way to help people in need (those two soldiers along with that guy and his wife), he goes from that to a complete uncaring dick, Hannah goes from completely emotionless, only caring about helping Ethan in whatever he set out to do (and even criticizing him when he strayed from the main quest of killing the dragon), to being talkative and and more emotional. This wouldn’t be a problem if it was set up better. Aside from that I don’t really have much to complain about I liked the episodic structure, the animation was alright and both Ethan and Hannah were pretty good characters I think.
I just don't like the ending, so instead of killing the guy, she lets his life become even worse by becoming the creature that ruined his life, pretty stupid ending.
It might be set up for more, the ending is open enough. Just because the game’s exact lore isn’t shown doesn’t mean it doesn’t apply to the anime either, really the anime cycle might just be another addition to the overall lore. I thought the mountainside weed farm was interesting enough addition to Gransys, even the thoughts of Simon and Balthazar about being expendable soldiers was a good look into the perspective of the Duke’s soldiers. We don’t see how other towns are impacted in the games, but the anime shows at least one effected group.
uh....what no. they retconned the fuck out of the ending. you don't become a dragon by killing it. you become it by challenging the senesechal and if you fail you become a dragon. the ending is a big middle finger to the game and destroys any lore the game had. heck the whole anime is a middle finger to the rules established in the game. so many retcons in 7 episodes.
@@AlejandroRodriguez-cy8ee Where in the anime did they say that this is the ONLY way? Where in the game did it say that was the ONLY way. This lore is meant for this. The developers of the game wrote this. You people need to learn what a retconn actually is.
@@treestefano717 have you like....not read what the dragon said at the end when ethan killed it? that all arisen are bound to become a dragon? come on dude. i dislike the anime but even i had to watch it. the game also said this WITH THE GOT DAMN Senesechal fight. where he is explaining how everything works. what's your move watson?
@@treestefano717 "where in the game did it say that was the ONLY way" literally, the entire Final Judgement quest, the entire story arc after we slayed Grigori, where it literally tells you this; Any Arisen that has failed the test returns to the world as a dragon, starting the circle anew, also see the Servitude ending where your arisen becomes the next dragon if you lost to the Seneschal
Well there is something that people forget, if you win and become the new seneschal then who will be the new dragon? I must think the seneschal can create a new dragon but lets think this too, you are the seneschal, you can make new rules for your world, perhaps the seneschal in that time make new rules for fight him, after all even the dragons sometimes makes weird things, like for example creat a daemon or the araisen can be other things like death (as far i remember he is an arisen too), there are too many variations, i still wanted that they make the story of choose your love or the world thing, this story of the anime ( its called anime right?) Is an okey story (i like it) but i like most the one for the game :3
Revenge is the first tool a hack writer reaches for to get a plot moving. Likewise, gratuitous violence is a lazy way to make the audience feel "dragon man bad". Dragon's Dogma was all about the quest to discover WHY the dragon took your heart and what drives you to reclaim it. Giving the protagonist a "muh murdered family" backstory strangles that mystery in it's crib.
+ Personally I think it's a decent story with its themes & time constraint, alongside a pretty good CG animation. + Art design is totally on point with the game. + The story & lore itself "somewhat" faithful, albeit rather simplified & shortened. This is clearly an alternate story & possibly a prequel of the game. + It definitely put the "dark" in fantasy for sure. + Best fight scenes is probably Hydra fight imo.
I saw the anime and I was like: wtf is this guts wannabe shit, I mean it tries to play off of the deadly sins where the real dragons dogma didn’t have that cancerous crap and at least the story didn’t kill off characters in the same episodes
It is insulting that they got voice actors like Greg Chun and David Lodge and gave us this pretty mediocre if not bad abomination of an anime adaptation.
The good thing is that the anime didnt spoil anything from the game. The game is top 3 RPG of all time for me. Worth every single minute. The gameplay is soooo fun. The magic skills is hands down the best in any game but the other classes are so good. The story is cool and very oldschool. 10/10. The anime is more of a teaser and doesnt touch 2% of the game. The game is a must play.
It's very dependent on who watches it. The die hard fans usually think it sucks where people who don't know much about the game think it's okay. Not everybody hates it, just depends where your looking.
@@mystic_memez3296 It is not just the fans. I did not play the game, but this show felt like somebody tried to make a witcher like series about the dark sides of human nature, without understanding human behaviour in the first place, and instead trying to fill in the gaps with cheap shock moments ("Oh look, rapey goblins. Are we not mature and grimdark?"). So yeah, you do not need to be a fan of the game to feel negative about this series.
@@e.m.p.3394 Dragon dogma is not mainstream game so a lot normies aren't gonna tune in the show only the video game fans know it and the show hasn't nothing with the plot of game so why make it in first place anyway.
They had all the makings of mirroring Daimon's story, and they threw that golden opportunity away. A shame. Had they focused on Ethan and Hannah instead of pointless side characters? May have been salvageable in 7 episodes.
Honestly even as a massive fan of the game, I wasnt even disappointed just... blank. Don't feel anything. It was just a cookie cutter anime using aspects of dragons dogma. Oh anyone new. SPOILER WARNING not really any spoilers. OK, the ending... everything was to weak and just not even lazy just careless. This couldve made wave if done right. Instead it was just pointless why bother? I was hoping they was going into the lore flesh it out, the first arisen. No they overall just fuck everything up for no reason. DD isn't a story game but its not a shitty story its vague and open for little discussion but still no story I was as bad as the anime. Am the type to watch 10 minutes give up had i not played dd I wouldve dropped it instantly. Am just... why? They copy the story in a lazy way rush it then thee end. Really shouldve either gave us a new arisen or focus on the first on up to his fight with the dragon or... the old woman I forgot her name, or the king... or..... so many option it wouldn't have been a banging anime but it would've atleast been not trash or empty.
Only four episodes in, but I already have serious issues. Not necessarily with the plot (as it is), but with the fact that this series has the EXACT same video scrambling glitches as their last CGI series - Ghost in the Shell. Seriously...what the hell Netflix?!
Also, we got a surprise digital release on Steam/GoG of 2003's cult classic, Freedom Fighters. Basically, Red Dawn the Video Game before MW2 did it. Made by the same devs who make Hitman. It is currently on a 1 week launch sale for $9.99 and comes with the excellent soundtrack too. We rarely get patriotic Murica games like that now.
Boi the game story is much much much worse and Ethan is your prologue character. I like Ethan he is simple, consume by revenge, chosen by a dick dragon to do his dirty job and he did it without knowing that's pretty much your character in the game too.
Very good points. So many things done wrong in this show, and it sucks because it had a first episode that made me think that MAYBE it won't be as bad. Other points: -They have the same voice actor for the dragon, and NOT ONLY do they mess up his lines to make them fake ass 'old' sounding but they even messed up the voice filter so the original Grigori voice sounds nothing like him. AGH -If they wanted a dark mcdark ending they could have used one of the bad endings from the game, like either him failing to kill the dragon or taking the deal for glory (since SUPPOSEDLY Ethan's sin is pride, which I didn't get at all) and have him become the duke we see in the game in one of the bad endings. They could have made him sacrifice his pawn instead or something which could have worked because we've seen stories in the game with Arisens caring for their pawns deeply (and even falling in love with them which is a bit odd considering the pawns apparently become like a copy of their Arisen eventually based on the dragon forged and the end of the game but whatever lmao). -the use of the 7 deadly sins as a theme was so misplaced and forced into the story that it messed up everything. I'm so annoyed that people that haven't played the game might watch this and think the game is going to be like that.
I feel pretty much the same way. The dragon's voice is just wrong when you have the original voice actor on staff. Grigori was just awesome. I usually skip the cutscenes since I've played the game so many times at this point, but I always let Grigori speak. The dragon in the anime was so generic, he didn't even get a name. The seven sins theme could have worked, but it just didn't have anything to do with the game's story and lore. I could forgive that since this was supposed to be its own thing, but they didn't even do it properly. Like... what is it about wanting revenge for the loss of one's family that equates to pride? Why was Ethan's wrath a bad thing, given his circumstance? The biggest confusion I had was with the lust episode. The "lust" featured was just some guy having sex with the succubus (which we can assume he thought was a normal human woman). We know nothing about this guy and have no reason to believe he did anything wrong. Overall, the show just seemed overly pessimistic, clashing with the confrontation with Grigori from the game. Throughout the fight, he was actually encouraging you (you can see some of his dialog in the clips from this vid). Anime was disappointing, but I'm still hyped for a sequel to the game. The game was just so good that even a bad anime adaptation can't diminish it.
They killed the entire lore behind the dragon. It's not a former Arisen. The dragon is an instrument of a god who uses it to find a successor. Netflix even screwed the pooch when it came to the Arisen's final choice. To either sacrifice the one you love in exchange for royalty of the land. Or fight the dragon and refuse to sacrifice your love for the chance to become a god. If anything, it would have made more sense had the dragon not killed his wife in the beginning but took her instead then giving him the choice. And the greatest sin of all is we never get to see the Capital!! The plot I'm not gonna go to heavy on as Rachel Arisen has their own tale. However each Arisen must still adhere to the rules of the lore.
I actually think it was a fantastic adaptation but a mediocre anime. Imo an adaptation should capture the feeling, spirit and memorable things about a game first and foremost (otherwise there's no point in making it an adaptation, just create an original anime). What do I remember about Dragons Dogma, in relation to other great games of the time? Plot and characters talked funny but were otherwise complete forgettable garbage, which put all the focus on the fantastic action and feeling of a "personal journey with my follower(s)". Models and textures were kind of shit too but it had great VFX. Pawns were waaaay smarter than I thought they'd be. Unexpected but kind of cool ending. Yeah, I'd say this anime checked all those boxes. I didn't exactly go into it expecting game of thrones.
Basically how I feel, it felt like dragons dogma to me, but the story could've been alot better and be more similar to the games story, even with the same characters probably or as other people suggested, use the dark arisen dlc since thats more unique than another dragon that can speak
they could have adapted the dark arisen expansion as it would fit better with the tone they were going for, grigori is cool and all but a dragon is not very imaginative, daemon would have been cool to see with this style of animation, I mean some of the fight scenes were pretty cool. Also they made everyone a basic knight, only magic user is the pawn but it would've been cool to see more characters as magic users or as many of the other vocations.
The thing that bugged me the most about Ethan becoming the next dragon was that when the previous dragon was talking about what sin fueled his transformation was his pride. I’m sorry, but when you obsessively desire revenge against a monster that slaughtered your entire family, you aren’t trying to look superior to anyone because you’re furious and want to commit violence against said monster. Olivia even said in the first episode that Ethan shouldn’t get consumed by revenge and nowhere in any other episode does it imply that he’s going through this with a sense of pride. If they were actually keeping track of the story, they would’ve known to have his sin be wrath. In all honesty, they shouldn’t have made Ethan become the next dragon at all.
false. he changed. he became emotionally heartless. we especially saw that during the greed episode. He only cared about revenge. He started to not care about anything else at all. when his pawn tried to get him to rest or eat inthe next episode, he neglected that he needed any of that...pride. too proud to take help, to help others and focused on that one goal just to PROVE he could do it and that all he's been through wasn't wasn't anything. He made it also only about him, as if he was the only person who lost all. you took everything from vs you cause too much destruction and pain and WE would be better off with you gone.
When I saw the trailer of Netflix's Dragon's Dogma, I just considered it a story of an arisen in an alternate reality that was the origin of the dragons punishment cycle. I just threw off the whole thing of Ethan's fate as a alternate parallel of losing to the cycle guardian: only by seeing and accepting that Humanity was bound to sin as a result of human nature as well as theorizing that the dragon was fated to be consumed by their wrath, Ethan should have instead left the Dragon out of acceptance that vengeance isn't always the answer, which in this universe probably would have been the true way to defeat the Dragon, get his heart back and not become the next dragon because they "figured out the curse but prolonged another fate". If there is a season 2, they should just do a multiverse reason as to why Ethan had the seven sins as a lesson and have it considered a fairytale story in a universe resembling the game and have that storyline be about a mute pawn that was raised in Cassardis becoming an arisen. 7/10 no The Wind is Pushing me in final episode credits, maybe we'll get lucky if season 2 is directed by the game creator.
Don't forgot, drugs are bad and if you do drugs you're bad too! Oh, and if you think the families of veterans who die in the line duty don't deserve to become destitute and starve to death... well you just have no sense of honor you greedy, greedy bastard. Humanity truly is the worst
its not the worst, bizarre amount of sex in it and they seemed to try to cash in on goblin slayer. in terms of time line i thought it was before the game timeline i thought it was part of the repeating nature of the game. there is a mmo of dragon's dogma in the japanese region.
Finally gave this show a watch.... And yeah, I don't think it's terrible. But it does get irritating. It's "Berserk-inspired", but it often feels more knock-off than homage. Too many episodes are needlessly and predictably edgy. I will say thay the 3D style isn't as jarring as I would have expected though. Not necessarily "bad" writing, but very one-note writing is making this show a chore (just finished episode 5 as of this writing).
This was really bad. Saw all 7 episodes and it was cringefest. No chimera, no cockatrice, no ogres, no harpies, no evil eye, etc. This anime is the worse adaptation of a game ever, and Dragon's dogma has a really short story to begin with. So idk how they messed this up so bad.
What they are thinking?!? So many videogames they can take from MGS to Bayonetta!!! IDK...anything but Dragon's Dogma!!! 😳 This game basically has no story, just plots! Ugh...who is deciding those adaptations in these days?
Been a fan of DD since it came out, despite its many flaws, its gameplay is fantastic. The only relation this show has to the source is the most basic aspects of plot points i.e. dragon steals a warriors heart and creates an arisen. That's it. It's relation is barely even skin deep. The tone and theme's of the game (struggle & hope, determination & will driving the eternal ring) are absent. In their place, is baby's 1st 7 deadly sins plot. You know, Christianity, the completely wrong dogma, that the source material, is in no way about. There are no characters, everyone is card board cut outs for plot convivence. Really shallow and cringe writing throughout. Even as a fan of the game or action series, avoid this garbage animation.
The biggest issue I had with this show wasn't the pacing nor the narrative's themes and faithfulness to the original material, but rather, the directing and sound design. A lot of cuts fucking sucked, and while the OST and VA-work was fine, the sound effects were extremely off at times.
There has been a weird influx of animes for not really dead but stagnating video game franchises lately. Dragon's Dogma, TWEWY, and Splinter Cell.... I guess video game companies are just now using adaptations to judge whether or not the brand is successful :P And this anime just really seems like a common ploy to reinvigorate the Dragon's Dogma brand especially since the mmorpg in japan shut down. Story and the circumstances just seem to be generally catered to mature fantasy audiences and overblows what the game truly is like. Capcom is just very bad at making their IPs be accurate or capture the same energy of the games for their shows and movies in general. Only being able to do adaptations of Battle Network and Starforce games for already being episodic stories. Also the most enjoyable version of the Dragon's Dogma anime is from the english dub + audio description. The narrator explaining what is going on in the generic orchestra opening truly replaced Into Free xP (Netflix budget really should have gotten the Into Free by Dangan song from the og game to be licensed. Capcom has been criminally not using anime songs in their games lately. Also screw the notion of netflix animes not needing banger OP and ED songs) And bonus also.... Caxton should have been the canon husbando.
Synthetic Man This is why I hate awkward IP stagnation hell. Companies doing everything except make new entries. Sequels feel like miracles these days for some IPs :P
Apparently, there's a new VR Splinter Cell game coming, but I think it is exclusive to the Facebook headset. Given how Ubisoft is now, I don't think I want to see Splinter Cell return. Stealth games in my opinion are best when their single player focused games that are tightly designed.
Genome Soldat Ugh... another thing I hate. VR entries that minimally satisfies what people want from an new entry. At this point to me vr entries are just cheap expensive cashgrabs. I’m still salty over Space channel 5 vr :P
Dragons dogma is genuinely one of my favourite games, but I knew to keep low expectations for the anime, and honestly that kept me from being disappointed with it. As a generic fantasy story with nods to the game, it was an okay watch. Nothing special but it kept me entertained. I guess I was disappointed that the Dragon didn't have as much of a personality as Gregori, but if we consider this canon to the dragon's dogma story it's a different Dragon so it makes sense that it didn't interact with Ethan in the same manner. I'd say it's a nice little homage to dragons dogma, but it does absolutely nothing to expand on the lore of the world (and breaks some of the lore due to Ethan becoming a Dragon because of his sins?). It just borrows a few enemies from the show and sticks them in some fight scenes. Probably not a show I will remember down the line, but it could have been worse. I was hoping it would be a bit longer and showed some of the Bitterblack Isle stuff because a lot of the content there is the high point of dragons dogma in general for me.
@God Fox Just recently got the game on my Switch and have seen the anime. My guess is that the anime is more or less a prequel to the game. So they could implement more from the game and add a new Arisen as the main character in season two.
@God Fox I think the arisen (in the game) becomes a dragon when they are unable to defeat the seneschal. It has nothing to do with defying fate or giving in to sin, but rather if they are unable to break the cycle and essentially become a god themselves.
They butchered my boy Grigori, he was never the one to mourn or point out human imperfections. Rather he just destroys them and the bond with an arisen is equal to his. In the game he was much more foreboding and held such a high tension especially in the last fight. He treated it like a fight and not like something he’s gripping over like in this one. I mean what boss you ever fought actually encourages you to go on as you try to beat them. Grigori in some kind of aspect forces you to show how far can a human go. Fight to live or die trying. That was the entirety of it. Although he might have been seeking his death, he was enjoying every moment of it as much as I did. Get the Mercedes to be your love interest, she’ll explain how the dragon and the arisenfelt like equals. Who are destined to fight in such an epic way it changed Gransoren for good. Like putting a massive hole in the ground as a start.
Unpopular opinion, I thought it was cool. I straight ran BBI on hardcore, so I’d consider myself a big fan of the game considering all the pain I’ve gone through for it.
You know I was on the fence because [huge game ending spoiler] was such a cool surprise to me (I legit lost my shit when It happened back then) and I didn’t think they could do it justice in the show and lo and behold I was right. They didn’t even try.
I thought it was pretty good to watch even though it was in 3D GCI, But the writing could have been better though it definitely needs better writing if it gets a season 2 (I hope it does just so they can finish the story) I wished it had more episodes to at least make Ethan's change gradual but instead they just flipped a switch and boom too angry to care.
They basically decided to use Dragon's Dogma's IP to create their own Berserk story, and failed terribly. (Both at being a Dragon's Dogma series, or a Berserk like series.)
I thought it was good, not great, not bad. Slightly mediocre. SO FAR that is, I have two episodes left. It has its moments. IMO the issues I had was the video quality dropping randomly in some scenes and I thought I was the only one but looking here others experienced the same issue. I even watched it outside Netflix on a streaming site and somehow the codec issues followed. Also some of the scene transitions were sorta off, like the Hydra eating Lennie but you don’t actually see it. And also why the fuck did the guards have to conduct a MEETING to debate whether Louis was telling the truth about the wolf attack then finally suit up to help 300 years later lol. I agree entirely that the characters can be stale sometimes, with Hannah it’s understandable since she’s a pawn. I feel like some people are complaining but don’t want to admit to it; that their own favored character and pawn setup/appearance wasn’t used. Yeah I agree it’s a little bland to use the default look, but what else are you going to use? They’re not going to go through everybody’s builds and personalize it to the majority of everyone’s liking. It’s like if they somehow made a Skyrim movie or show, they would most definitely use a default Nord appearance because they wouldn’t care about catering & it actually (in a way) gives folks a blank slate to imagine their own character & pawn. If that makes any sense.
Well, my two playthrough's characters were a 6'5" jacked warrior with a huge gut and a 5'2" brown just-as-jacked dwarf assassin (and one of my pawns was essentially an orc woman) so I didn't really expect character design that extreme. No, my problem is that the plot is nothing like the game and monsters just felt like a nod to the game instead of actually belonging in universe
Synthetic Man Just had to come back to say that you were right. This anime really isn’t that good. I take back what I said. Now I understand. Actually for some reason I was under the impression that it would leave off on a cliffhanger & set up more instead of just being a one-off series. They shouldn’t have done that. If they were so unsure how unpopular this show would be then they could’ve at least set the story up as a continuing series instead of shortening the story/world up to where it ends adruptly. Much like how Castlevania is, at first with how short season 1 is I was worried it would be a simple one-off but instead they’ve been writing the story as something that evolves. If these writers did it for this series it could’ve had a way better story. I was okay with the 7 deadly sin humanity issue up until I realized this was a non-continuation series & really feel like that’s literally the only theme or lesson they’re trying to convey which honestly is kinda bland. It’s obviously just catering all throughout for DD fans now that I’ve watched it to the end, but not in a good way tbr.
I hope you keep making videos man, I love your content. Hopefully you get more popular in the future, like, definitely branch out to other sites like Bitchute or Rumble because it gets harder and harder to make money on RUclips these days.
only ever played the intro to DD never got into it, thought the anime was good. I dont watch anime though only other thing I've watched and enjoyed was Castlevania. That was awesome.
I'm late to this video, but I stumbled across it after watching the first two episodes of Dragon's Dogma. I hated it. All the interactions felt extremely forced, and the animation style wasn't consistent and didn't blend. The characters didn't really match the background scenes in my opinion, and their animations also felt rigid and inhuman. Everyone's shoulders were so square and it felt really awkward.
Yea played Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen and vanilla way back. Hoping for DD 2 but we got an mmo. And then there was Deep Down by Capcom. Idk if it’s still in development or not.
I believe the overall message in the anime is despite these things, you’ll experience in real life, such as greedy people gluttoning people, lustful people, prideful, ignorant people to not let the errors of their ways rub off you and never lose sight of who you truly are.
Dragon's dogma dark arisen is my favourite Action RPG and i loved the show because it was new and established that the world progressed it didn't stagnate. The episode with the mushroom village or even the first episode where it's very visible that this casardis isn't Our casardis. Another thing, the game makes very similar HEAVY handed commentary that the show goes a different direction with, that scene of the jester and the crown was to express edmund's underlying fear of being usurped/found out, and him hiding it with modesty as the people who all know the weight an arisen holds blatantly mock him because they are loyal to the world they know aka Duke edmund is the bamf here not this dude. The series also very likely nods to the sequel because as i've followed any bit of news i can theres a mention of a curse and the world seems massively different as your goal is to break some curse, everything is a cycle but much like the stories themes originate from and mentions, things Change and must not stagnate so we might be playing in the world ethen left behind, given a few corrections and fixes from capcoms writers.
15:14 I think that if you are noble and kill the Dragon (or just faced him/her by this point), then the Dragon will test your movivations, just like the game. I assume that they are trying to say that the protagonist in the game were PureOfHeart and that's why he broke the cycle and faced the Seneschal at the end. I think they said: lets just make ANOTHER ending, so this is officially the 6th one. Here's the list: (Spoiler's Alert) 1. If you choose your beloved instead of fighting the dragon. 2. If you lose the fight against the Seneschal. 3. If you turns back to your previous life when the Seneschal offered you to do it. 4. When you kill yourself to EndTheCycle. 5. (DarkArisen) When you successfully kill the Boss in the BitterBlack Isle. 6. This Ending, I assume its cannon. I am just (tried) successfully to explain were the fail to tell... 💀👍
I remember I used to be a Magick Archer during the Bitterblack Isle DLC, it seems it was free since by the time I got it, it had replaced my original Dragon's Dogma digital copy to the Dark Arisen version. Also the story sucked for me, after the extreme edginess of the second or third episode I just knew it was going to be a garbage retelling of a story with the names and characters of DD. Having the bad ending is kinda interesting but IIRC Ethan became the Seneschal, rather than the dragon, so this story is just a different universe and a supposed "cautionary tale"
I gave up after 2 episodes, its slow, the dialog bothers me,the audio needs work and the titles of the episodes already hints that its not following the flow of the original plot nor even really tells what its actually about. Its just not up to par.
No rook,No Seneschal,No Gwyneth and Selena :(( 1/5 at least the Female main pawn Mikasa Dragon dogma Netflix Can be example for my new arisen creation LOL.
Loved the game. Single greatest flaw though - the balance. If you play carefully and methodically, exploring everything you can and leveling up your character to create your ideal build, you quickly find that about 1/3 of the way into the main story, you'll be so overpowered the rest of the game is a bit of a joke. Biggest problem with the show - it failed to adapt the main story hooks of the game; the whole tragic, cyclic twist of the game's story (which I won't spoil)... which is hilarious, because the game's crazy plot twist is so utterly perfect for an anime show, it feels like it was taken FROM an anime show. And that plot twist really relies upon at least a little character setup - some time spent on the interaction between the Arisen and the Duke, for example, and the various people working for the Duke that you meet along the way. I mean, sure, since it's a cyclic story... you could tell the story of a different cycle. But then for it to be a faithful adaptation of the game, it needs to recapture the same elaborate character-driven story elements of the game. But the show was too busy moving on to each new monster to actually spend enough time on characters.
Good points and agree with most especially the animation...ever think that this might be testing grounds to see if it gives potential for a sequel wich was kinda wrapped up but also not. Given the Dragons name not mentioned and so many things from the game left out and not the same as pointed out. Big question is...the dragon in the anime is way more ruthless than Grigori, so is it Grigori..? Is this a prequel to the actual game?
@@brandonbrown2973 THEN DON'T MAKE A SHOW IF YOU CAN'T ADAPT IT WELL ENOUGH! Castlevania got away with it because it was a really good show while also dropping easter eggs and references, this was just ass.
@@brandonbrown2973 Tell that to the thousands of people who love the anime adaptation vs this. I bet you love the horrible Street Fighter adaptations as well.

People are getting mad at netflix, trying to find someone to blame, but honestly, I don't know what you were all expecting. Dragon's Dogma isn't known for having a good story.
It honestly sounds like the creators read that the game was inspired by Berserk and went: "Oh! I've seen that show!" but had never actually played the game and just kept a checklist for the relevent plotpoints. So they made the Dragon's Dogma anime more Berserk and less Dogma leaving it almost unrecognizable as either...
Anyone could have written this surface level bullshit. The game wasn't nearly as deep as I had hoped it would be, but I certainly didn't think the Dragon's Dogma universe could get any more shallow.
Ugh... So *SPOILERS*, they took the "Dogma" out of Dragon's Dogma? I knew I wasn't feeling the adaptation so this saved me time. How did they remove the most interesting aspect of the game? It literally just created a version of the cycle that is generic and makes no sense? I'm upset because the game has a story that could be adapted into something really cool but everybody wants to screw with the source material in these adaptations and ruin them.
Honestly I think the anime was good up until the half of the third episode. Everything before that was decent enough for me to keep watching everything else was really strange with everyone changing feelings halfway through, it was really weird and it sucked at that point. However you mentioned how a lot of the things in the game were not included. I don't think they could include it, because that would mean more effort put into it, and the reason that wouldn't be a good idea is because if if did not do well so much effort would be gone. Plus that would just mean there would have to be a hell of a lot more than 7 episodes, and personally I do not want to watch past the third. On top of that if they were going to make the anime exactly how they guided the story in the game, we might as well just get the game. I liked how in the first episode we go to like the character and his wife and adopted child, and when they did we have a sense of dread for the main character, panicking of what happened and how he lived but they didn't, we never had that in the game so now there is more emotion to play with in the storytelling. Overall in my opinion anime good until third episode, everything else just went downhill
I don't understand why people are talking about the Dragon's Dogma anime like it's shit or okay. It's not. It's at least average. Animation and sound is mostly good to fit the look and scale these big creatures are supposed to be while still being an anime and of course having a lower budget than a game. Ethan becomes an asshole who doesn't want to bother with the problems of other people because when he did, he created a whole nother problem with the townsfolk in the Greed episode basically destroying each other in their riot. He doesn't go to Gran Soren because he doesn't want to or need to, his only motivation and goal is to slay the Dragon for killing his wife, adopted son, and unborn child that was all the source of happiness in his life. There's no point in him going to the guards of the Duke in Gran Soren since he saw just how useless the guards posted at Cassardis were against it. Hannah gets change over time literally by how a Pawn would logically gain a sense of humanity, by asking their Arisen questions and Ethan literally answers her questions as she experiences the dark shit of Gransys. Also, the rage sequence and not being pure is a good thing because the Sceneshal is supposed to be god protector of the realm. It makes no sense for that kind of person to be an evil fuckwit Arisen that doesn't care about the world so now that there's a filter on it makes sense instead of just being strong. Plus, it can easily make more sense to the player in game on why they don't turn or go mad because all of your main quests involve you doing mostly good things (killing the Griffon, killing Salomet, stopping Salvation, speaking with The Dragonforged about the Dragon, retaking the Shadow Fort). The Lich backstory was nice to provide some cool to a regularly lackluster in game boss compared to the others because it doesn't do much in game. The skills and lack of classes is an inconsistency that I can agree on and the fact that Hannah pulls the God's Bane out of nowhere in the end. However, because of the ending she can work as a recurring character for us to get a bigger, fuller season due to her helping keep a "turned into good guy" or just flat out "good guy" arisen (most likely) Savan in the tutorial because the show seems to take place before the game because Aernst was said to be attacked in the show in one of the earlier episodes whereas in game, Aernst is ruined completely and populated by bandits.
It's fine not really good but not as bad as everyone's says. Dragon's Dogma is honestly a very weird IP to make a Adaptation on but I think it's most likely because of Dragon's Dogma 2 and to bring more people to know about games which it actually did because the Dragon's Dogma sub-reddit is full of new players and I can't be happier.
I agree that the show lacks the depth of the game, and the game was really a great one. Though I find it difficult to enjoy as much as I did originally given how dated it is. The story was amazing. That said the show while lacking was still enjoyable. It was disappointing at how much it lost the spirit of the game, but compared to most things that release these days it was inoffensively enjoyable.
Anything anime touches sucks. Monologues, shouting names in pose, terrible voice acting, annoying, grown women dressed like schoolgirls, and however could we forget "friendship power"...
I don’t think it sucks. I just think the could’ve done more with it, they didn’t explain how they got gods bane, they didn’t meet the duke, they didn’t even have a epic battle with the dragon all they did was just stab him in the heart. Granted you do that in the game but it takes more than one time to stab it. The most disappointing thing about was that they didn’t go to bitter Black Isle, I was so looking forward to see the daimon boss fight in the show. The show ended way to quick and they added extra lore like if you kill the dragon with hatred you turn into it. The show isn’t bad in my opinion just to short.
They'll probably make another season that would incorporate those parts of the game. Not to mention I just recently bought Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen on the Switch.
Zachary Gadzinski i hope so man, but i did want more character development between the characters. Since the arisen is a dragon the pawn has to go there on her own. If she does her build is deffenetly better tgan mine.
Since there's supposedly a second season on the way (or at least talk about it), my guess is they'll delve further into the purpose of the dragon in that season. Or at least their own version of it... Blegh. For me the anime was just "Ok". It did some things I like, some things I didn't, the Nietzsche and Seven Deadly Sins motif is oldhat as fuck and that detracted from it imo, and all the extra edge made it way less interesting and sometimes downright frustrating to watch. OG Dragon's Dogma is basically a traditional fantasy with a twist, whereas this is like they had to fill a quota on something. I kept wondering what they were gonna do next. "Does the hydra give the Arisen's pawn cancer? Will harpies eat babies in front of the camera?" just shit like that. It was weaksauce. The ending was kinda weird but it works as a good set-up at least.
The sloth episode was my fav. Ethan can stand corrupt lords, sulty wives, and even child sacrifice, but a pothead that was it humans no longer deserve his sympathy. Weed has broken him, he is so high he forgot his sense. Lmfao!
Genuinely who thinks that CGI looks good, it’s so jarring and stilted and awkward on the decent looking 2d background 🙄 so sick of companies swapping to CGI so they can cheaply shit out a product
The only ones that can do 3d well so far are studio orange. Houseki no kuni is a masterpiece in terms of story and animation. But the person on the helm of that project is Eiji Inimoto, who is a renowned 3d artist that understands when to use 2d or 3d and when to blend. Sadly other studios haven't caught up
@@shadow4040 There are cases where it works and has a point. Per example Houseki no kuni makes sense with 3d because the characters are gems and their hair glitters in a way that's impossible to do in traditional animation. They also employ 3d for certain things that wouldn't work in 2d. However, the big difference is that Houseki no kuni has a lot of 2d too, specially on the character expressions, which are really hard in 3d cause it looks lifeless. It doesn't try to use 3d just to be cheap or easy.
@@shadow4040 I usually dont like 3d, but i think Houseki no kuni was able to give something that is close to what 3d should actually look like. This here looks quite average. Just curious, did you drop because of the animation or story?
I don't like the CGI either, it always looks off somehow, Grigori looked like plastic to me. It's a shame because the story of Dragon's Dogma is really interesting but the visuals and, for me at least, the characters and way they wrote them, is not appealing.
@@shadow4040 I understand your position. I do still watch shows even if is in 3d if the story is worthy and if it isn't a mess like Berserk. However, the only ones I saw that made me forget about 3d altogether were Studio Orange anime. Well watch in anime website, i think it's on Crunchyroll for free. The story is worth it, for me one of the best of 2017.
A thing I noticed was Hannah appeared to be a magic archer, even though pawns cant be hybrid classes... ;) lol
It is entirely a budget issue, not a lore issue, they cut it because AI for extra pawn vocations was too hard.
I mean I would have preferred that your town was destroyed and you're wife murdered so that you as the character would have something definitely driving you to go after the dragon in the game BUT that's not what happens in the game.
yes they can bbi has magick archer pawns
But is the tapestry you weave truly of your own design?"
"We eats when 'ungry an' we sleep when tired of eatin'! We kills 'em when we wants 'em dead!"
"Their kind is easy to fathom.

Wolves hunt in packs!
HARPIES!
Goblins hate fire and ice both!
I sorta be wanting Dragon’s Dogma 2 to conquer the new elder scrolls xD
yea Mappa has their hands full with projects atm, on top of AoT S4, they are also working on Jujutsu Kaisen
Anyone that even remotely likes this show should just watch the older anime of/read Berserk. It’s much better and has a writer that actually knows how to write trauma and rage.
RIP Kentaro Miura
Anime and 3D blender models together makes me mad, how is the case that in the 90’s with less money and technology the animation in 2D was miles better than 2021 animation, we live in the cursed timeline
personally i think the anime was interesting and i did enjoy my time, it was cool to see some of the monsters in action and seeing that Succubai aren't just glorified harpies and what not, but it really pales on comparison to the game, especially with that really bizarre 7 deadly sins thing, i seriously didn't know why they did that when the game is about something MASSIVLY different
and a little ps note to add, i think the BIGGESR reason i enjoyed it just abit more then most is we are seriously lacking in dragons dogma thing (also still low key sad Dragons dogma online not only never came to the west but shut down) but most of all im way to dissapointed that Grigori sounds so.....modern? idk how else to put it, sound slike a gruffy gumpy old giant rather then a philological dragon
It's not Grigori
I enjoyed it as well. I dont think it was meant to emulate the game's story cause... i couldnt take the actual story all that seriously lol. but i think it did its job personally. But it'd be weird for someone who doesnt know about Dragons Dogma to watch it.
I'm hoping for a sequel. The show was okay, but all that matters is it probably means Capcom is trying to bring back Dragons Dogma.
@@gameaddict1074 agreed
Devilman crybaby is proof netflix has potential to make great things.
I liked that game... It kinda gave me a Berserk vibe too.
Its berserk inspired
Hell, the game even has an armor set that came straight from Berserk.
Duke Edmun = King of Midland
I like what I've seen so far of this series. I enjoy the animation and like the fact that the guy is hyper emotional because of the trauma he experienced and the pawn is super methodical. Nice contrast there especially since traditionally, the roles are usually reversed.
But I like the main character because he is a badass and can show his real emotions. Then the girl is super chill and rational about every encounter. It's cool. I recommend it.
I agree I like it
@@zironthegamer The anime doesn't seem to follow the game's lore, while the premise is the same, Dragon attacks Village and rips out Protagonist's heart, but that's it
The Dragon doesn't give Ethan the choice to turn back, Ethan turns into a Dragon not by failing to defeat the Seneschal but by committing a "Sin of Pride" etc
That just feels like a weird reason to like the show. The dynamic was not really done that well at all, in fact, that's how it should be done considering that's the lore of the game.

Why else would you want to kill a dragon?
Dragon's Dogma is not famous to have an epic story so i was surprised they made an anime adaptation of this game
I think they just give licenses to random people on the streets
The good thing is that the anime didnt spoil anything from the game.
The game is top 3 RPG of all time for me. Worth every single minute. The gameplay is soooo fun. The magic skills is hands down the best in any game but the other classes are so good. The story is cool and very oldschool. 10/10.
The anime is more of a teaser and doesnt touch 2% of the game.
The game is a must play.
Why did everyone hate this? I thought it was a pretty good show. Granted I had never known about the game.
It's very dependent on who watches it. The die hard fans usually think it sucks where people who don't know much about the game think it's okay. Not everybody hates it, just depends where your looking.
@@mystic_memez3296 Hm. I guess that's true. But I feel like die hard fans need to give it more of a try. At least it wasn't like for us Berserk fans.
@@stevenrith2386 Ah. I understand. Berserk is similar.
It's disrespectful extremely disrespectful to the game itself... I'm sorry it had to be said
Only four episodes in, but I already have serious issues. Not necessarily with the plot (as it is), but with the fact that this series has the EXACT same video scrambling glitches as their last CGI series - Ghost in the Shell. Seriously...what the hell Netflix?!
I liked the anime
Also, we got a surprise digital release on Steam/GoG of 2003's cult classic, Freedom Fighters. Basically, Red Dawn the Video Game before MW2 did it.
Made by the same devs who make Hitman. It is currently on a 1 week launch sale for $9.99 and comes with the excellent soundtrack too.
We rarely get patriotic Murica games like that now.
This could've been better if Ethan wasn't a one dimensional character.
Other points:
-They have the same voice actor for the dragon, and NOT ONLY do they mess up his lines to make them fake ass 'old' sounding but they even messed up the voice filter so the original Grigori voice sounds nothing like him. AGH
-If they wanted a dark mcdark ending they could have used one of the bad endings from the game, like either him failing to kill the dragon or taking the deal for glory (since SUPPOSEDLY Ethan's sin is pride, which I didn't get at all) and have him become the duke we see in the game in one of the bad endings.
@@tdblackboxx6866 If we get a sequel then I'll give the anime a pass :P but god it was bad
Imma be honest. I absolutely loved it!
Same
They killed the entire lore behind the dragon.
Also they made everyone a basic knight, only magic user is the pawn but it would've been cool to see more characters as magic users or as many of the other vocations.
the cuties scandal part made me laugh
Stopped at episode 3 with the goblin rape scene
It's not a Netflix anime without a rape scene
To sum up this anime:
Humanity is awful and they deserve to be destroyed or subjugated.
-told by a depressed man.
Don't forgot, drugs are bad and if you do drugs you're bad too!
Oh, and if you think the families of veterans who die in the line duty don't deserve to become destitute and starve to death... well you just have no sense of honor you greedy, greedy bastard. Humanity truly is the worst
7:15 where is that scream from?
its not the worst, bizarre amount of sex in it and they seemed to try to cash in on goblin slayer. in terms of time line i thought it was before the game timeline i thought it was part of the repeating nature of the game. there is a mmo of dragon's dogma in the japanese region.
Why not make the anime about that boy at bitterblack isle
What they are thinking?!? So many videogames they can take from MGS to Bayonetta!!! IDK...anything but Dragon's Dogma!!! 😳
This game basically has no story, just plots!
Also screw the notion of netflix animes not needing banger OP and ED songs)
And bonus also.... Caxton should have been the canon husbando.
TIL about the Splinter Cell anime...hasn't Sam Fisher suffered enough?
I’m still salty over Space channel 5 vr :P
lol the Grigori in this anime is so fucking small
I just beat dragons dogma thanks to your channel. Amazing game. Already beat it twice. Hyped for the sequel
Since it was a 3D & 2D CGl anime hybrid, it was rough to watch; ¡in fact, it reminded me of BERSERK 2O16, which isn’t a compliment! XD
That was awesome.
the show was on speed run mode
And an mmo that got discontinued nonetheless :( never got the chance to play it
I believe the overall message in the anime is despite these things, you’ll experience in real life, such as greedy people gluttoning people, lustful people, prideful, ignorant people to not let the errors of their ways rub off you and never lose sight of who you truly are.
Here's the list: (Spoiler's Alert)
almost i was the only one who thinks the show is crappy
I remember I used to be a Magick Archer during the Bitterblack Isle DLC, it seems it was free since by the time I got it, it had replaced my original Dragon's Dogma digital copy to the Dark Arisen version.
Also the story sucked for me, after the extreme edginess of the second or third episode I just knew it was going to be a garbage retelling of a story with the names and characters of DD.
Having the bad ending is kinda interesting but IIRC Ethan became the Seneschal, rather than the dragon, so this story is just a different universe and a supposed "cautionary tale"
I feel like they might bring those things in after the guy turn into the new dragon
Strider is a perfectly balanced balanced class
The game was awesome the anime was trash
I gave up after 2 episodes, its slow, the dialog bothers me,the audio needs work and the titles of the episodes already hints that its not following the flow of the original plot nor even really tells what its actually about.
Its just not up to par.
Tbh i kinda liked it, sure it didn't get everything right or it did change some things but it was enjoyable
No rook,No Seneschal,No Gwyneth and Selena :(( 1/5 at least the Female main pawn Mikasa Dragon dogma Netflix Can be example for my new arisen creation LOL.
@qqq??? Nah i didn't like the way they change it too much.
The animation style was a high point of it for me. Didn't like the ending but it had its moments and looked great.
114 dislikes? People are in denial

Wolves hunt in packs!
I liked the anime, but then again I went into this not knowing a single thing about Dragon's Dogma
No Caxton 0/10
9:22 I haven't seen the serie, but I know that they haven't play the videogame, they NEVER does.
Wait... wouldn't it make more sense for his sin to wrath?
