- Every ritual in Hinduism is related to the movement of the Sun and Moon and these two are basis of every Jyotish Yog, If we can follow our rituals lot of our problems get away, Follow LA calendar for such rituals. #sakranti
Translation: The zodiac sign of Capricorn is a cold sign. So on Makar Sankranti, that is, on the day Sun transits to Capricorn, the (North Indian) rituals comprise of burning fire(symbolising the Sun) and putting popcorn kernels in it while reciting Gayatri Mantra. Corn enriched by the Sun is harvested during this time in Punjab. So roti made of corn flour is eaten in this season. Also, revdi(sweet made of jaggery and sesame seeds) are offered to the fire. Jaggery represents Mars. Sesame seeds are Ketu which is responsible for releasing one from karmic debts. Blankets are distributed which is again representive of Ketu. Here Deepanshu sir says Jyotish is such, that these acts (representing planetary transits) were interwoven with our celebratory rituals. People simply performed them without having to rack their brains about it.

Sir, we light fire and make Pongal in Tamil Nadu but it is made of rice and jaggery. People burn old stuff during Bogi and the next day lit fire visit Kul Devi and make Pongal. After it, they worship Cows and further spend time with family.

@@malhotra2012pradeep sir i have seen many videos of spiritual leaders saying not to do so. It's a sin. A normal person shouldn't do Gayatri mantra jaap. There are many rules which one should follow before doing jaap. I know the power of mantra jaap. I have felt the difference in myself chanting Hanuman chalisa regularly. But I'm not sure about Gayatri jaap. Just confused and curious to know the truth about it why it's not allowed to do so. Sir i request you please go through those videos once. It's on RUclips. Search you will easily found. And if you get to know anything please comment. 🙏
