    Love the drone footage. Would love to see you open up those long rows. This is so different than when I loaded under a New Holland 1880! My husband packed silage for 53 years. Good job.

      Walker Bros Ag does an awesome job and as a bonus they don't run over the old fat guy with the drone. :-)

    Interesting that one chopper has a Deere head on it and the other one is running a Krone head. Wonder which one they like better

      I was wondering the same thing when flying the drone and all I could come up with is that it was pretty hot that day so maybe added cooling. Then again maybe someone forgot to close it :-)

    Hi Jim, maybe you can answer a question. I see all these silage videos where they are using multiple tractors to compact the silage. Why doesn’t a farmer use a sheepsfoot roller? It’s would do a better job compacting, and a used one can be purchased under 40k and last a lifetime.

    • @JimBaltz
      @JimBaltz  Год назад +2

      My guess is because they can use the tractors for other farm activities while a sheepsfoot roller would be for only one purpose. Also it might be a little hard on the concrete ;-)

      I know of one farmer that does. Its a lot of money for a unit that only does one thing and they can't push silage.

    • @allenbraun8759
      @allenbraun8759 3 месяца назад

      We used a sheep's foot one year, it was awkward on the pile and got itself stuck a few times. Really too slow to move smoothly with the push tractors
