This is a high quality reproduction of an Oakeshott Type XVIIIb longsword (15th-16th century), which has a slender, strongly tapered point for thrusting into the gaps of plate armor. Similar to an Estoc, except that it has an edge and a different blade cross-section. As usual I talk about the handling, fit & finish, and the results of my testing.

Dramatic effect for the movie if I remember right. I The blade itself was poison, and when someone was stabbed by one the blade immediately broke and started disintegrating. In the books it disintegrated much slower. I could easily be talking out the wrong end, so corrections are welcome if you have them.

The SL 1009 is one of the most beautifull swords in Lockwoods Catalogue for me. My grandpa has a few Lockwood Swords and this is his and my favourite in terms of looks

Ive got the SL-1011. saw it reviewed here years ago and had to have one. ive had mine for a bit over a year now and absolutely no regrets. its looks amazing and feels great to use as well. would get another, but just like albion, they cost a pretty penny and take a while to make. if you have patients unlike me, i would never not recommend Lockwood Swords. simply amazing and worth every cent.

This is gonna sound silly but I love that sword aesthetically, just have no money. So I took an old cold steel hand and a half sword and ground down the blade (careful not to ruin temper) to that profile, then re-edged it. Doesn't cut great, but has the appearance of that sword. great for thrusting tho!

Shad should make some cutting vids with this, let us see if it will truly fail this trial. it might not be wide like other ones but its rigid, thats good for both thrusts and cuts.
This has to be one of my favourite swords aesthetically. The Oakeshott type XVIIIb has always been the one I'm drawn to the most. I'm sad that Skall is no longer going to be able to show it off seeing as he's selling it. At least it is going to Shad. It's nice that we have a proper video on it as a send-off though.

As usually Skall, my dad loved your video. He thinks it helps his blood pressure. He loves learning about different weapons. He almost died in 2016 with a blood glucose of 662 and I forced him to retire early. His case shows that you can work yourself into type 2 diabetes. If Cara or your's personalities start to drastically change, check your blood glucose. Just saying because we care.
