I'm not a huge fan of the Tau, but their lore fascinates me. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the way you weaved established canon with supposition gleaned from the canon to fill in narrative gaps and support your theories about why certain things happened. This really felt like a documentary put together by some news service within the 40K universe.
I am a veteran space marine and inquisition player. But I have just started Tau as they are the most different race of W40k, they are all shooting and like modern warfare.
I think the dawn blade is one of the 5 croneswords that Yvraine is looking for. Think about it all the swords have to do with stealing a soul and this sword takes the years of its victims or otherwise steals their soul.
I have to say I do wish they would expand on Shas'O Kais as he is one of the 3 students of Puretide. Would be very interesting to see him a bit more fleshed out and even see his stance on how things are in the Tau Empire. But anyways great video. Very nicely done.
I believe he was the protagonist for the video games Fire Warrior and Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, but it would be nice if he got rules in game etc and thus expanded lore. Thank you for the support.
I actually think that the one in the shooter was a different person as they said he had basically gone mad but yes he is the commander in Dark Crusade (a game I still love to play). Just think it would be kinda cool to see more on a legendary student of Puretide. But anyways thanks for the quick reply! Keep doing what your doing and make sure you have fun with it.
Effing love what you have done with the Channel! These stories and lore videos are fantastic. When will you do one for Vect, The dark Eldar, and the dark city! Would love it as a resource for all us True Kin out there. Just a thought ;)
SkaredCast thanks Skari, I really appreciate it! I actually did a (much lower quality) Dark Eldar video a long time ago, it isn't anywhere near as well researched as the recent ones as I only used the codex for resources. Maybe I'll come back to the Dark Eldar though, eventually.
thanks for this lore. because of tabletop performance i would ordinarily say no to anything to do with Tau, however between this and your farsight enclaves vid I'm beggining to be bought round to playing the no-nose-fish-fappers :-) battlesuits at least.
True however the Tau have been around for 5000 odd years, and have been space faring since 2000-1500 years. All other races took at least twice/three times as much to achieve what the Tau have in such a short period of time, given time they will eventually develop/improve their warp travel technology
The ' in T'au is meant to be a pause in the middle of the name. When you say the name it kinda sounds with a break like you are saying tah ow with emphasis on the h.
No clue why everyone seems to have such a stick up their ass about a fictional race, the tau especially. They’re the only race in warhammer that actually feels different from the others, both functionally and and thematically. Hate them because of the political analogy you drew with them? It’s a fictional race for one, and second, that’s a hilarious reason to hate tau considering every race is absolutely fucked with what they do. Tau seem to be saints compared to the race to the bottom mentality of other factions and races. I’m thinking of making a tau army for the exclusive purpose of making you people reeee at a fictional faction of blue aliens.
I hate Tau. they have shit on every edition since showing up in 3rd edition. If they used their gundam suits to fight hand to hand then they might be interesting.
As a player of T'au (they added the apostrophe to the species name as well!), they do not do that in 8th Edition I can assure you! Plus, see Commander Farsight for melee suits.

I'd love to hear more on the forgeworld Tau, especially O' Ralai

Great analysis and you did a great job of making it easy to understand!
Your 40k lore vids are my favorite.

Awesome, really good fluff!
Is it just me, or do the designs of some of the titans(specifically tone and ronin) in titanfall 2 look so similar to tau battle suits
the ghostkeel deadass looks like a titan there's even a meme about it comparing the ghostkeel's pose with the titan fall cover image
Good stuff mate
really enjoyed this video thanks!

PS: Great content, mate
That Old Ethereal who doesn’t like to fight should become the new Space Pope. Any oppose?
Space Asians. Dope

Well, tune in on Wednesday and you'll get to see how awesome it can get :)
you've done it you passed 3000
The Tau can't hope to survive if they are unable to develop long distance faster-than-light travel. If they do this they will be victorious.
Nortarus Firehand they have a form of FTL, I believe, as without it they wouldn't be able to cross the Damocles Gulf. But yeah, good point.
They have warp dives which is a much slower albiet safer method of warp travel.

I hate the tau so much and wanted to dislike just because, but the video is very well done
