  • This Video is my Halloween Special, so to speak, where I recreate Casta Fierce into the Witch she was always meant to be. I had alot of fun with stereotypes--probably too much fun in some ways--but I didn't bend her towards the ugly stereotype. I made a beautiful Witch out of her and I hope you enjoy it.

Her face is adorable, i love the color of her eyes!!!
Duuude, i have the hardest time with wigs. Like, it's so hard for me to be satisfied with any one aspect of the wigs i've made. I'm like "screw it, i'll just reroot!! >:("

Thank you;) And yeah, wigs are still a bit of a challenge for me, but the more of them I do, the easier it kinda gets but...well most of the time, i prefer to reroot;) Rerooting is just easier because then you can just style it the way you want whereas with a wig, it's best to plan WHAT hairstyle you want for it ahead and then keep that in mind as you put it together;)

not to harp on the lighting, not sure if it is over exposure on your camera or a strong lamp or just sunlight coming through the window. You can put a sheer cloth in front of the window or light (not too close... no need for a fire!!!) but to diffuse the light.. also you can point the lights at a wall to bounce the light back on your figure... and it could be something as simple as changing the exposure on your camera... BUT anyways there was an interesting effect from the over exposure, even though it was almost impossible to see what color you were applying to the head, the one thing that showed up really well is the placement of the pigments on the head... each time you used pastels or colored pencils it would highlight that area on the head... Kind of a cool effect... definitely not something you want when showing off your skills... but good for the viewer to see where you are applying pigment.
I have watched a lot of repaint videos and I think you are the only one to use the eye shadow product... others may use it, but never mention it.
So having watched to the end and seeing the two outfits and the face paint, I will say you did a very good job. The lighting was perfect for those last shot of the completed figures.

Thank you for wonderful, and helpful, critiques;) I will take your suggestions to heart and I'm glad that you enjoyed the way the doll came out;)
Believe it or not, I first saw etellan use powdered foundation to change the skin color on one of her dolls...and I've seen Poppen Atelier do the same (such as in her Sanderson sister videos;) ). That's what gave me the idea to use the eye shadow for blushing and for lipsticks and eyeshadow for my dolls--so long as it's an oil-free product. That big pallette, believe it or not, I bought 2 years ago at 5 below and I have used it for my own belly dancing makeup in addition to this. I use clean brushes each time though and make sure my skin is very clean before I use that palette, but am hoping to get a new one just for doll customizing and a new one just for belly dancing as some of the colors are starting to run a bit low. That or i'll have to invest just in some cheap eyeshadow colors that are just for belly dancing and buy new colors for customizing, whichever I can afford to get;)
I will continue to figure out how to light my living room properly--that's where my work area is and there is a big bay window..but my desk is in the corner, away from the light! with alots of stuff in between. I may just need to buy a different camera--i'm currently using my phone to record and well...while its' good, it's not great. I'm hoping to get a new camera after christmas:) I also put up a new video yesterday--the lighting may have the same issues though as I had already recorded most of it prior to the completion of this doll but I did try color balancing it with my editing software--hopefully that helps;)
Thank you so much for your comment and have a beautiful day:)

Yes, i know--that is one of my older videos. I had massive issues with lighting and I was still learning how to use the editing software that I use--check out one of my newer videos--much better quality:)
