As an unbiased Australian who judges these contestants on their songs and talent ALONE, I can honestly say that these two girls gave one of the best performances of the whole competition. They deserved more respect than what they got...

I was in the crowd and was so disgusted by how people treated this girl - most of the crowd would shout (in a negative way) everytime the girls was mentioned or came on stage ... I get that people aren't liking the Russian government - but srsly? It isn't the girls fault and they were amazing, so they should have been acknowledged for their music instead of for their country

You know, I think people have the right to express their point of view if they feel a country is doing something wrong, but educated people know *when* it's appropriate or not to do that. This is not the Russian government performing here, it's two beautiful girls giving it all in the name of their country and not necessarily supporting or pardoning what its government does. With that being said, excellent job, girls! Beautiful song and masterful performance! I'm glad that this was what ultimately reflected in the voting!! I'm American and this song is probably my favorite from this year's Eurovision. I find it to be the most interesting, musically speaking. I'm a sucker for two part harmony. You have to realize that people are not physical manifestations of their governments. As an American I can relate, because my government doesn't do a single thing that I want it to. If I had it my way, my country would be very different. I think for everyone else it's probably the same.

Eurovision winners hardly ever become successful. Their flame sizzles after a year. I haven't heard anything from Alexander Ryback, Loreen, the molitva girl. The only two that made world wide success are Abba and Celine Dion. Emilie from Denmark career was getting so bad she had to sexualize herself and even that failed.
Booing two 17 year old twins because of what their PM said is extremely immature and totally out of place. I honestly didn't like the song but i commend them for keeping a brave face infront all those boo's.

I disagree, I understand from your perspective that could be the case, I'm Irish, so I don't see that here, our government is awful, and etc. but people choose to believe what they want, in my opinion, the best song was Hungary... I loved it... but because eurovision is normally political, i think the right politics came through... Russia's song was good, but it's hard to accept their talent when Russia is so anti-homosexuality... I always thought Ireland was really retrogressive, but it's not in comparison.
Irish people love the Greeks. I for one have never heard any bad 'propaganda' ... I study sociology here, so society is my forte and I don't think you're right about that, however, if that's how you feel, I hope this comment restores your faith in Western Europe. At the end of the day, don't we all just want equality for everyone? So I'm glad Conchita won, because it's a win for the LGBTQ community. :) I hope I've made my point better this time :) Sorry if any offence was caused :)

A mind-blowing performance. It's like the greatest theme from an as yet unmade Bond film. The staging alone is astonishingly technically exacting and they're singing phonetically in a foreign language. They look like goddesses. Any other year this would have walked it. Brava.

    • @DmitryParker
      @DmitryParker 9 лет назад +9

Sequoia Не весомее, а голоса зрителей умножаются на голоса зрителей. Т.к. жюри одной страны это три человека, то и правительству легче регулировать голосование.

    Verse 1
    Been looking at the sky
    wishing on a star
waiting for a brand new start
    Living on the edge
    closer to the crime
cross the line a step at a time
    Now maybe there's a place
    maybe there's a time
    maybe there's a day you'll be mine
    Now something's got to give
    make a brighter day
    all we got to say
    Chorus
    Shine into my darkness
shine into the night, my rising sun
    drive away the madness
Can you be a masterpiece of love
Sending out a message out above
Telling all the world to show some love
No one's gone bring me down, bring me down
    You are my rising sun
    Verse 2
    Keep looking up ahead
    riding like a wind
open up your heart, let me in
My life is on a string
    when I see you smile
our love will last a thousand miles
    Now maybe there's a place
    maybe there's a time
    maybe there's a day you'll be mine
    Now something's got to give
    make a brighter day

Viz12345 No, they dont sing for Putin. They sing for Russia.
I'm Venezuelan, and when and when a venezuelan represents our country in any kind of event, he does it for Venezuela, and represeting all venezuelans, not for Nicolás Maduro or his government. Putin's politics are only his politics, and the ones of HIS government.
These girls where born in Russia, raised in Russia, and are singing for every russian, even gay russians or the ones opposing Putin. They deserve to be treated like every other artist who competes to earn a victory for their country in any non-political event.
Booing them just for the plain fact of being Russian shows you bear as much intolerance as Putin's government shows every day regarding gay rights and/or human rights.

I don't like what Putin did but as you obviously CAN'T remember the name of the contest so let me remind it to you! It's Eurovision SONG Contest! This song is really great and the girls don't deserve to get bullied because that's what some of the attenders did while their performance! They were BULLYING them! Please stop critisizing them because of what Putin did with Crimea(I be;lieve it's wrong spelt but whatever :P)!It's not their fault and you HAVE to understand it!They're just 17 guys!
P.S.Fokas did a great job and the song was actually written by a Greek songwriter who's quite famous here in Greece but I can't remember his name :P

A song that I learned for my stepfather. Then I did not know English at all. (after that I was enrolled in English courses)
He replaced my father, he always loved me like his own daughter, raised me. He was the best friend of my own father and promised him that he would not leave me and my mother. My father was killed in a fight in a cafe, there were people armed with guns and knives. My stepfather also suffered, he doesn't have his right hand, he was treated for a long time in the hospital, but even now (19 years have passed), he doesn't forget about his promise. He is my father.
I am writing this now because today, August 18th, he died from the coronavirus. Dad I love you

самое забавное, что подписывать всех людей под одну гребенку, свойственно исключительно "недалеким" людям. Тем, кто неспособен даже представить возможность различных взглядов и вкусов на одну и ту же, некую, абстрактную модель...

I feel sorry for this talented girls to represent Russia in this times... Depending on everything around Ukraine and also Conchita Wurst reduces their chances to win or get a top result. Their appearance looks so good and they are great singers, so I actually hope that people will recoginze that ESC actually is a song contest, nothing else.
    Peace! :)

  • @ItsAnAnimeWorlddd

Guys, these are only two 17 year old girls. They can't be blamed for the actions of their country, they are innocent, as are 95% of the Russian citizens. The twins made friends with Mariya Yaremchuk, the Ukrainian representative, and had many photos and such together. In an interview after the show, both twins were in tears because of the criticism they received. Europe is the one in the wrong here, it was completely unnecessary to boo like that. Sure Russia hasn't been making any friends lately, but two young girls should not be punished for their government's actions.
