Hey guys and welcome to todays video where I finally answer the question of whether spending a little more on luxury skincare is worth it.. In this case we are talking NIOD and I have used only NIOD products for a full month.. I would love to know what you think so leave me a comment below.. love you all xxxxxx
I have such a clear fond memory of using NIOD SOD and Sanskrit Saponins on the day of my high school graduation. I had acne, no make up on on my graduation but using those two products felt so nice as self care products for a special occasion
Modulating Glucosides is my holy grail from Niod! It really dials down my sensitivity. Added bonus-it feels like silk gliding over my skin. Great video like always! 👍
I agree with your findings. I've been using NIOD exclusively for a month now also (since October 23, so yes, today is exactly one month) and my skin looks and completely different. The only non-NIOD product I use in my routine is The Ordinary Glycolic Acid toner. You have been so helpful to me with my choices. I actually had NAAP in my DECIEM basket today, as I was going to make one final Slovember purchase, and I just removed it. I was hesitant to get it, as I felt The Ordinary Glycolic would be more effective for me, but thought I'd try it since it's 23% off. But, I'll stick to the routine I currently have. It's working. I just started ELAN last night. I loved how it felt on my skin. So I ordered a backup bottle today, along with a backup bottle of Re: Pigment. Oh, and I think I've become addicted to the one NIOD product I initially delayed on buying because I felt it would be a waste of money, the Modulating Glucosides. OMG, I LOVE it!!!!!!! Another great video. I'm looking forward to the next. P.S. Your skin looks amazing! :o)
I'm use affordable products, and have skincare routines that work beautifully. I haven't tried NIOD products yet, but I'm glad to know they are there when my skin needs them!❤️
Hi. I am a little surprised you did not include the Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist (SDSM2). It is a holy grail for me. I also love the Survival 0 and the Flavanone Mud Mask. For the mask, I use the MAC 192 small paddle brush. It makes application of the mask a breeze. Enjoy the rest of your day. Best always, Denise 😊🍁
My new favorite hydrater is NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist. I have dry skin and live in a cold, dry climate. WOW! Spray a little between steps and lock it in with a good moisturizer. It works great!
Omg im not even a minute in but omg im so excited. Ive recently splurged and purchased an entire niod routine because of you so this is so exciting 😍😍😍😍😍😍
So... I love Niod so much. It is amazing for my sensitive, combination to dry aging skin. Here are my thoughts: The SS is super drying for me and it also tickles. I can only use in Summer time when my skin barrier is not challenged by weather. The Flavanone Mud is amazing. I mostly use on t-zone and it really, really works. I dislike the smell but I can live with it. For sure one the best clay/mud mask I have used. HG The Non-acid precursor I haven't tried. I have a bottle of the Hyaluronic acid but haven´t even used it. The Re: pigment is amazing. I use with a q-tip and it lasts forever. It is amazing, as you said for post-inflammatory pigmentation. HG I got a bottle of Copper peptides and I´m looking forward other serums to finish to be able to use this one. I use the Survival 0 and I love it. Another amazing product that is a HG for me Another HG for me is the FECC. So amazing for my eye area.
I guess to be fair to the cleanser, their directions have always recommended to use every other day. My absolute ride or dies from NIOD are the FECC, CAIS3, SDSM, S0 and NEC. They are all amazeballs!! Testing a few others at the mo, but I’m undecided on those.
@@lonewolf5969 Hi, no that isn't one I tried because I have already found my holy grail LAA from Geek & Gorgeous C-Glow. It's an amazing vitamin C which goes on like water and for me, who gets significant prickling from the likes of The Ordinary LAA, has no reaction whatsoever. It's also a fraction of the price of ELAN and has worked wonders on my skin. I would never move away from the G&G C Glow :) x
This video made me so excited to try my box of Niod goodies! Sadly, I don't want to try them all at once in case of any strange reactions, but darn, dear, you are GLOWING!!!! The flavonoid mud mask will have to be a future buy! Much love
I have super sensitive skin so I tried the non acid acid precursor. I reacted to it. I don't react to the 5% lactic acid and so I use that. I agree with you - the lactic acid is where it is at.
Love NIOD so much! Although my skin is not liking anything at the minute, even basic cleansers 🙈 Cais 2.1 was my holy grail for so long, I'm still waiting for my skin to behave so I can try the version 3! 🥰
Love NIOD as well! I'm having the same issue as you with m skin misbehaving. It went all haywire on me back in February. Thought it was mask 😷 related but now I'm thinking it's hormonal. Hello adult acne...UGH! #midifecrisis
@@ch21again I had the same problem! Hormonal chin acne but then I got maskne. Not sure if they were related. Anyway! I got curology and the online derm told me that high levels of biotin make hormonal acne worse! If you are taking it definitely cut it down to a minimal amount. My chin acne used to recur even with tretinoin, but now it hasn't been back in months.
@@Calberta Interesting about the biotin. I just recently started taking a B complex vitamin so I will have to keep an eye out to see if it makes the acne on my cheeks worse. The dose of biotin isn't high but still good to know that it may aggravate it. Glad you have your issue under control! 🙌🏻
Hyaluronic acid has gotten this undeserved rap in the skincare community lately. One of the reasons, I think, is that when the consumers learn about the frankly outstanding moisture retention property of it think that more is better. When I was...very young and received skincare products in my work, serums had 0 1% HA in them. There's no need to put 2% of an ingredient that attracts 1000% it's weight in water. Where the hell would tjat moisture come from? No wonder your skin feels dried out instead of feeling hydrated. And that goes for all hydrators to a lesser extent. Anyways, there's just so much water your skin can handle. You know when you're in the bath and your fingers get all wrinkly? Is that what you want? The unsung hero from NIOD,, in my opinion, is the Modulating Glucosides. Most of us over exfoliate at times, because we just love that smooth, glass-like feeling, so we want *more*. MG is by far the best thing I have ever used fot a wrecked skin barrier. It healed a chemical burn from over using the Ordinary Peeling Solution in *days*. And it's one of the more affordable products from NIOD. Before they went Lauder it was part of their core regime and I think it should still be one. I continue to use it at least once daily
I think Niod has some holy grails: Modulating Glucosides, Copper Amino Isolate Lipid & Serum, Survival 0 ( only the " 0 " version ) and somehow MMHC2 ( though it might be overrated to someone ). All the others are just overpriced products with strange technologies.
There are different forms to Hyaluronic Acid that you should understand also, plus there’s precursors here that encourages your skin to produce HA itself on a long term.
Yes im not a big fan of HA though I haven’t tried NIOD version yet. Just made my first purchase of NIOD. P.S. I love the way you critique in comment, you should make a RUclips video review of your favorite skincare products, I’d watch it.
I got the Survival 30 about a week ago due to your recommendation and OMG, I freaking love it!! ❤ My combo acne-prone skin looked better after just a few days! Definitely need to get an extra bottle during the sale. Might have to try some of these other products as well. My bank account will hate me, but my skin will be happy!
Hi Rob your skin does look really good - clear and even. I'm back using the modulating glucosides again after many months of using other things. The first few days my skin was a tiny bit red, but that happened the last time too. Once those few days were past, it has reduced redness again for me and that was also my experience last time around. It seems to need to be acclimated to on my skin, but the results are worth it. I don't think I could use some of the really complex/active products in their range tbh. I'm still swithering about trying the FECC, as it has such a long INCI list and products with so many ingredients are often problematic for me (ultra sensitive, rosacea and eczema). I use a lot of spf and that 30ml bottle would last a month max, so it's a bit beyond my budget to use consistently. i'll be avoiding the cleanser and the mud mask lol - too drying and too active for my skin. I think cherry picking the products you really want/need from any brand is a good idea and I've never used any range in isolation. I've always mixed in different products/brands into my routine and that has always worked for me. it's not so much a cost issue as I've used some expensive products in the past, but more seeking out certain things that just perform well for me. I also think I would be a bit bored, as I use on any given day the products I think my skin needs that day. An interesting experiment for you for sure though and I can imagine it would clarify what really does or doesn't work for you. Best wishes.
Hi Rob - great video! I have dry/sensitive skin now in my 50s (formerly acne prone) and am actually loving the LVCE cleanser especially in the morning. The Sanskrit was definitely too stripping. I agree with you on the MMHC as I love my Premium Hada Labo! As I have aged, I found HA to be a game changer in plumping up my skin. I love CAIS!!! Will never be without but as for NAAP - was underwhelmed. I am really loving G&G calm down for my skin (as per your previous recommendations). Also - as for Vitamin C - G&G CGlow works way better than ELAN! In Canada we cant seem to get Survival 30 - only Survival 0. :(
I’ve been using NIOD Copper every nite for the past few months. Feels nice & love the color, but is it actually doing anything for me? I honestly can’t tell. I’ll still keep up with it, but the $60 price tag plus not being able to tell if it’s doing much for me may eventually turn me off. But maybe not . . . I’d like to glow to the gods! 😀😀
Hey Rob, perfect timing for this video. I am ready to make my 4th and last purchase during the NIOD sale. I'm thinking I would be able to control the amount of CAIS I use if I purchased a pump. That first bottle is getting empty w-a-y too quick. I have a pump on my Matrixyl to obtain the correct consistency when mixing with the Argireline. Happy Monday and sending love ~ Paula
Hi rob! Love your videos!! I recently purchased the modulating glucoside serum and wasn’t sure what to use it with or if it clashed with anything?? Also I love the survival 0 serum it’s my favourite and I know it clashes with copper peptides but was it fine to use with normal peptides such as the the ordinary buffet?? Thanks so much for all your help and info!! X x
I feel you about the shock of orange foundation in your teens. They didn't have all these exquisite shade ranges back then. If you were very pale, or very deep you were what we call where I'm from SOL (shit outta luck!).
