For me, HV shines in one particular circumstance that makes buying it so worth it. Air travel. It is seriously amazing at creating a seal that prevents moisturizer loss from the pressurized environment. It does have a dry feel to it, which I don’t enjoy usually. But that dry feeling doesn’t matter as much after you’ve done an intensive pre-flight hydration routine. Just as long as you stick to mineral sunscreen over top as I doubt chemical sunscreens will be very effective through HV. FYI, I’m a Flight Attendant and using this particular combination has alleviated nearly all of my chronic dehydration and reactivity.

i hope you'll do a brand review of Stratia in the future! due to me living in Europe and their limited availability, i've never tried any of their products, but kind of want them all (except for their vitamin c, although i'm curious about it). also, indie brands need all the help they can get now a days. your reviews are always so helpful, and there really aren't any full brand reviews of Stratia on youtube yet.

Niod is fantastic, my favourite brand out of many I have tried. My only issue with them is they need to be clearer about what products can be used together and how to create routines. The website says you can use CAIS with vit c, but over the phone they say otherwise. Great products besides that.

Yes, I use that sometimes during and definitely after I get acne pimples. I usually use adapalene and few backup treatments if a pimple would not respond to it. This sometimes work during I get them, but it really shines after. It repairs the acne really fast and leave no scarring.

I use many of the products you reviewed, including CAIS. When I use the NIOD line I include Modulating Glucocides in my routine. Your review was very helpful and informative as to some of the NIOD products I've been wanting to try but haven't committed to purchasing because I wasn't sure how they worked or how it may benefit me. I already have so much of the NIOD line and there's only so many products you can put on your face in a day. Anyway, I noticed when you showed yourself applying the products you put a few drops on your hands and then pat the product into your face. I think I use too much product - generally I end up using 6 or 7 drops or whatever amount that is needed to cover every inch of my entire face and neck, if I happen to be using the product on my neck. What is the proper way to apply these products? How much should one use to get effective coverage? Thank you for reviewing these products and for your knowledge and dedication to skincare.

When you mentioned highly reactive skin... 🙋🏻‍♀️ my skin gets so irritated and breaks out if I use products with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide. It’s super unfortunate since my skin is both dehydrated and acne prone and those two seem like such well-loved ingredients!

    • @gothamista
      @gothamista  4 года назад +3

Yes and for most people, they are great ingredients for soothing inflammation! So it's amazing to find formulas that take this into account!

that sounds exactly like my skin, can i ask what you use for the dehydration? i have terminally dehydrated skin (probably partially from prescription retinol, but if i stop using it my acne is overwhelming) i can’t find anything to help the dehydration that doesn’t have HA and is effective, until NIOD but i really don’t have the money for it. so if you have any suggestions??

I have just started to use Niod, a lot to take in and try to understand what to take first and what to use in the end. Like now i always start with the mist, and take a spritz in the end to. And sometimes during the day. I follow up with copper amino isolate activator and then the multi-molecuar hyaluronic complex, i have not bought the cleanser or the eyecream yet, but that will be the next on my list. Because i can not believe how different my skin looks now just after a month..this is for sure something special, i am hooked. !! I have also the Photography fluid opacity 8%, that gives a hint of bronzed skin, i am not sure what i tnink of that one yet...i have fair skin so i have to be careful with it. The last thing i bought is modulating glucosides, have not started to use it yet because i dont know if i should use it every day, and between or after what of the other products? Can you give me a answer to that Gothamista?? It is a lot to understand and a whole ney different way to think about healthcare, this is pure sciense..! I am 48 years old, have always looked after my skin, but it has never looked better. I dont like to use it under make up, i dont know why but that is not function with me, it look patchy, and nearly dirty if i use foundation. Any toughts around that?

Thank you for this extensive review! I have had the CAIS2:1 for about two months now, but not sure how to incorporate it into my routine. I find it very hard at the moment, as you can’t combine it with actives such as Retinaldehyd (i use Medik8) in the PM.

Hey, Renee, I’ve been diving back into Niod after initially trying the multi-molecular Hyaluronic acid, fractionated eye serum, the oil based cleanser, Sanskrit saponins (which I use regularly & love) & the copper amino isolate 1%, ; now I’m using the Survival 0 (wow, I’m impressed), the re:pigment for my melasma & the myrh clay for firming. I honestly want to try the whole brand so I pick up 3 at a time to slowly introduce into my regimen. I am watching this video again to refresh my memory as to what your thoughts were. Thanks for all of the vital information, as always you are pleasure to watch! By the way , did you use the neck catalyst on the lower half of the face as Deciem recommends, I’m super curious about that one. You didn’t mention the oil cleanser, not a fan? It doesn’t emulsify that’s for sure, however my skin appreciated it, especially over time, but not my fave within the brand to be totally frank. I’m wondering if you’ve tried the Photography fluid? Apologies for how long this comment is.

Thank you so much for your honest review @gothamista! And thank you and @deciem for hosting such a wonderful giveaway. Such a great and informative video. It's is hard to explain how much I Love Deciem - The ordinary and NIOD are godsend to everyone, and of-course to skin care lovers. the CAIL 1% is simply amazing and also the LIP-BIO, very curious to try Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist and Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex!

Hello Renee, I’ve always look out for your skincare reviews and tips as they are so educating. Thanks for sharing! A question that I hope you could shed more light. How do use the copper insolate serum and lipid at the same time and together with retinol? So you alternate them and what’s the frequency of usage? Thanks

The Lip Bio Lipid Concentrate product didn't help me at all and caused dark hyperpigmentation on my lips after 6 weeks of use. So disappointed about this. Now I am trying to figure out how to fade the HP on my lips!

After watching only 2 videos , I subscribed to your channel because you clearly explain and review the brands, also include medical facts in all the videos. Skincare is not always about using good products to your face, it also depends on your health. How we maintain our health inside our body is what reflects outside. This is the best skincare channel i have ever watched. Keep up the good work and looking forward to ur future videos.

Like all your videos, Renee, this was so helpful. I have loved many of these products for years and rather than relying on pretty packaging and perfumy ingredients, these products are based on science and performance. With the added fact that it's a Canadian company and I don't have to pay crazy exchange rates and duties, makes them that much easier to use 💕

Niod!!! Love them! I like the new packaging for the FM. I have dry skin and really loved what this did for my pores. It is strong and you feel it. FECC is my holy grail. Combining it with the WishTrend eye butter is nice. I need to pull my survival 0 back out and use it. It has been in my fridge. I hadn’t thought to combine it with my sunscreen. Thanks for another informative video, Renee!

yes! FECC and the wishtrend eye butter is a glorious combo for me too!
BTW, the FM and couple of other formulas have 2 packaging sizes - larger one in tubes and smaller in the jar!

Thank you for this! I have tried the CAIS and HA and love them. I have been trying a lot of things to find what can help after i was exposed to chloropicrin, which is a tear gas that Terminix used on the house next door, only they didn’t follow the proper protocol and I looked like phantom of the opera and felt even worse than I looked for 11 months, until I could move. It was unbelievable and debilitating. I ended up with very damaged skin around my eyes, dramatic hollows under my eyes and paper-thin skin all around my eyes. There’s a deep sudden drop off where the face meets the bones surrounding my eyes. You can see all the blood vessels underneath tiny layer of skin. Quite unacceptable appearance for a sales rep, as I try to get a new job after losing mine in January. So I have been trying all kinds of things in an attempt to help build the collagen and skin layers back up. Vicious circle... looking better will help with getting a job but need the job to look better. It’s crazy. So if you have any suggestions, I’m all ears. You gave me some ideas, but I welcome your input.

I feel like the MV works better during the day to seal in your skin care and the velvety texture helps to make the skin look refined and blurred under minimal makeup and spf, that's the way I use it, don't know if decien would approve of my technic lol.
