73 year old single female. Moved to a cabin in Highland County, western mountains of Virginia on a dirt road. 10 inches of snow. Wood stove for heat. Beautiful, peaceful, good Christian neighbors, not too close but wonderful and helpful. My dream came true. Birds, squirrels, deer, bear and more. God bless!
I would like to believe that of the seventy three years that you’ve been on Earth, a good many times that you’ve been spinning along, good things have given you many positive experiences. I hope you can spend many more years sharing positive vibrations, God Bless .
I always feel better after watching any of your videos. I live in a city of about 320,000 people. Your life reminds me of the three years I lived and worked in Maine in the late 90s. Traveled all up and down the Maine coast and met many fine people like your family. Thanks again for sharing.
I've heard those mountain lions, Katie is correct. It's a blood curdling sound like a woman screaming at the top of her lungs. Yes, absolutely. Katie called it like someone's legs were being cut off. It's a sound like Katie said, "I never want to hear that again." Lovely video Tipper. So relaxing. Thank you.❤
I think it was about 10-12 years ago that it dawned on me that my mom was a person before she was my mom. Since then I have made a point to listen to her stories pre mom. It’s amazing to listen to her stories. I’m so proud of your girls for always have listened and are so interested. Amazing! ❤️
You all should put a yurt on your property and fix it up (glamping) and make it a vacation rental. The property is so gorgeous and you could include a breakfast. I would definitely pay to stay there. It’s so peaceful and natural. God bless you all.
I must say that I am jealous of sorts. This video was so down to earth and family oriented that it made me homesick. My family is all but gone, with just a sister left. My boys are not of an age where they would enjoy sitting around talking like that. What a blessing to you to have your girls there in the house and enjoy their company even if it is only for a little while longer. It was so soothing listening to stories that are nothing more than everyday life. Not grand stories about grand adventures but just daily life and the struggles of it. The only thing that could have been better is if there was a radio playing some old gospels in the background. God has been good to your family. What a blessing
Tipper, you're a better woman than me. First word of snow I headed out to Florida! 😊 I enjoyed hearing Matt talk about dear hunting. I know, in every aspect, he takes his responsibility to provide and protect so seriously. This is good family time and a joy to watch.
A day in the life of the Pressley family! I love how you all do things together. You are the epitome of what a family should be and it's wonderful to see!
I saved this video until I had a block of time with no interruptions so I could feel immersed in the woods with y’all, and I was not disappointed! The talk around the wood stove was the BEST! Always love pregnancy/birth/baby stories. And if there were only two (TWO!) times that you couldn’t get a twin to stop crying...well that tells me everything about the way you mothered. Good job, Mama!! 💛👍🏻👶🏼👶🏼
I live in Indiana and saw a mountain lion on a lonesome country road one evening. Everyone said I was crazy but I know what I saw. Also, I love the stillness that comes over the woods when it snows.
I miss the days I lived in the forest. When we had a lot of snow, we’d going walking for hours. It was the most peaceful sound and feeling to be out there. Now I live in a city, reliving those years and living my dream, to move back, through your videos.
Sure enjoyed going on a hike with y’all today. I bet that fire sure felt good when you got back to the house and the delicious hot cocoa too!! I thought you might make a campfire outside and roast hotdogs. Fun times no matter what you’re doing when you all get to be together!! Thanks Tipper! The snow is so peaceful. ❄️
Love the walk-in-the-woods posts of yours. Always makes me think how similar our territories are. We're just way colder. Matt looks like he's carrying a Marlin .30-30. Mine was given to me by my dad. on my 14th birthday. Great brush gun. The best. Also.......mountain lions. Until a couple decades ago, there weren't mountain lions in MN. You'd here rumors. Not until trail cams became prevalent, did we see proof. Wolves are pretty plentiful, and black bears. I'm in central MN, about 100 miles south of true forest. Just farmland here. Several times a year we have black bear roaming the farms. Anyway..........fun post.
Believe it or not there have been Mountain Lion sightings for at least the past 5 years in NJ … in the Sussex country area there was one reported at a school bus stop early in the am . Coyotes we have lots of , but Mountain Lions moving in are something!
I really enjoyed seeing you guys in the woods…it was beautiful. Also loved listening to your stories while having breakfast and sitting around the fire getting warm. Such a calm and serene life. Beautiful family! ❤️
A lovely hike in the snow is wonderful. Even the small amount of snow you got looks magical. Here in northern Virginia, we got a little more from the most recent storm and they are calling for more this weekend. I also love to hike and walk in the snow. So peaceful and beautiful. Thanks for sharing your hike with us, Tipper.
Oh how I enjoyed the walk in the woods covered in snow. The hot chocolate and the beautiful platter of food was wonderful and being a part of your sweet family conversation was perfect. I needed all of this! Thank you so much for letting me join you.
Thanks Pressley family for letting me tag along on your hike though the snow ❄ It's so beautiful and I'm so envious since I live even farther south than Corie's fiance.
Wow! Sure is beautiful there.! I live 50miles south of Tallahassee, Florida. Not likely to snow here.maybe one day I can visit north Carolina when it snows. The creek is absolutely beautiful. You all are truly blessed.
Katy walks just like her dad! Such wonderful memories told around the old stove fire. Beautiful snowfall. Not too much, just enough to enjoy. I bet y'all do get more snow. Stay warm my friend!
Being from Michigan, originally, I grew up in the snows of the 50's and 60's. Over the 24 years I was in the Air Force, I was stationed in Northern Japan, 3 yrs. !0 years in Korea, off and on, Washington DC, and Duluth Minn, I decided that I had had enough snow, so I retired in NW Florida. It has snowed her three times. Twice back in the late 80's and once since. It's pretty to look at, but I don't want any. Love watching y'all hike in the woods, and love to hear your stories.
This is the family I always dreamed of 🥰them sisters love each other ❤️I had two brothers and both have passed away 😔We were very close, my mother wasn't very loving to me and my brothers, but we sure loved each other brought back memories seeing them laugh and joke with each other, I really enjoyed this video it was bitter sweet ❤️thanks for sharing family is everything
My favorite type of video! Reminiscing with family around the wood stove. Good way for Austin to get to know where Corie comes from! Thank you for posting! Can't wait for the next one!
Love to see the snow. I live in Florida and was in Pigeon Forge last Christmas and it poured snow. We had never seen snow before. It was so quiet and peaceful. Loved it. Don’t think I could live in it. Love y’alls stories. Thank you!
More! More! More! This was such an enjoyable visit! It's pretty much what I had in mind when I suggested y'all just hangin out on the porch and talking. THIS is how ya do a "reality show"! Looking forward to more soon. Oh, and sorry ya didn't get all the snow ya wanted. We got about 8" here, but the suburbs aren't a walk in the woods, so it wasn't nearly as enjoyable.
But, you got to understand this isn’t a reality show, this is a video clip. This is real life and unpredictable and that’s what makes these videos more realistic and, much more enjoyable.
Sonya, mercy, I know that! I've been following these folk for some time now and feel like they are family! I put the words reality show in parenthesis for a reason! 😊 This is how a "reality show" should be done. Just reality. No drama, no nastiness, no puttin on airs, no hating on people, nothing artificial. Just wonderful livin!
I happened to remember the other day about something interesting. I remember that in the old days some people would graft a limb on to another tree cutting and then they would have 2 different fruits growing on one tree. Apples etc. Sometimes I think that they would do it with roses and other plants People did a lot of wonderful things back then. Thank you
Lovely video as always Tipper (and family). You all sitting around talking reminds me of talking with my Mom and Dad, both now in heaven. I miss them dearly but it’s good to hear other people’s family chats. Family is all that really matters in this world. ❤️
Wow I'm so jealous! I wish we had that snow here ❄️🌨️ I love the snow just not ice. You and your family are spending quality time together which is all that matters! Such a peaceful time. The creek sounds so comforting. Enjoy your wonderful family time. God bless 🙏💯❄️🌨️
Enjoyed the lovely hike and y'all sitting around chatting...I am in the DC area and of course we got some of that snow too, a bit more than y'all but not as much as they predicted, I think. I have been enjoying watching the wildlife outside of my back sliding door.. 3 deer came up real close to my door yesterday, stood there munching the leaves on the bushes for a while. All bucks and the older one has frequented my back yard off and on for months. I live in the suburbs in a subdivision, with shallow woods in the back. We have a LOT of deer around here anyway. The older buck, which appeared to be a 10 pointer, has a broken front leg has had it ever since he's been coming around. When I first saw it, it looked like it was bleeding and it was limping, couldn't use the leg at all.. Over time, the wound healed up but his leg is still bent and he manages to get along, so sad to watch.. Who knows what happened, but he is tough and seems fine in spite of it. I look forward to seeing him! I hope y'all get some more snow to enjoy this season, take care and stay safe and warm..
Love this video' I find snow to be so relaxing & peaceful I love walking in it whenever I can. Mountain lion would be my worst nightmare !! I've been told by people they could stalk you for hours & you would never know until they are ready! Bad kitty!!!😱😱
Katie most likely heard a Fisher Cat! For a small mammal emits a loud ferocious scream! Had one at my place in N.Y.! And are expanding their range now!
Hiking in a snowy woods is peacefully quiet and relaxing. All the wildlife that has been moving has left tracks and sign that you may not normally see. My mountain lion encounter came one quiet night from a wooded treeline 75 yards away as I was walking in my pasture. It was a scream alright, but kinda hoarse and gravelly like she had a sore throat. When you hear one there is absolutely no doubt in your mind what made it. Probly the wrong thing to do but it sure quickened my pace back to the house. Loved this show, quality family time.
Thank you! I love snow, too! Our area of Arkansas didn’t get any but a little further north they had a nice amount. Shaking snow ahead of you- how nice. ❤️
Just beautiful Tipper! Thanks for sharing with us. Here in Texas, snow is rare. We mostly get freezing rain & sleet. Further west it snows more. I love the snow!
Back in the 80s up here in Iowa we would set out at night watching the stars and for several years in a row we would here that scream at night; n the hills. Then one day my brother in law and I were squirrel hunting and we came across a solid black cat almost as big as the full grown deer carcass that it was eating on. Every year someone gets pictures of mountain lions up here. That is quite the hair raising scream they let out.
Sitting by the fire listening to you all talk is so nice! And Matt's accent and words, it's so similar to the way my dad spoke. These are some of my favorite videos! Love you guys!
Awesome,I so enjoyed your adventures.the snow is so pretty.love the stories of baby girls and pap and Matt talking out of their heads.your life is so diverse. Just love hearing all of you talk about animals and Matt is great story teller.all of you are blessed.Austin s getting into great family♥️♥️♥️❄️❄️❄️❄️👻☃️☃️☃️🦌🦌🐿️🦉🐅
oh that fire looks so cozy, that is one yummy looking snack tray. enjoyed the family chit chat. we have almost 7 inches here and another storm forcast for tomorrow and thursday with possibly another 4 inches
I hope you got more snow. If not then maybe another time. I would love a hike like this. Especially be able to walk out my back door to start the hike! You’re so fortunate in that manner. The snow covered woods are beautiful. I especially like the stream scenes. God bless this beautiful mountainous country side. I absolutely love it! My dream for retirement. And how sweet that your husband takes care of you! My husband was the same way. Now he sits with Jesus waiting on me to join him one fine day. I love the deer hunting stories. We have many as well. One time my husband and I were walking along a trail not hunting but just looking for future use when we did come to hunt. To keep me from walking so far he told me he was going to walk ahead and I could sit on a stump we came upon. So I sat there and sat there a good while. I kept looking ahead on the trail and thought I was seeing him a good ways up there. Come to find out it wasn’t him, it was a stump with a big limb beside it. I thought he was the stump and the limb was the gun barrel. While I sat there I guess he scared up a deer and it ran out close enough to me that I could touch it! But the most embarrassing was two men walked out where I was sitting and there I was all by myself just sitting there. A woman at that! They were shocked and so was I! When my husband got back, needless to say I was not a happy hiker! Thanks for sharing this snowy family outing as well as the stories! Those girls are the icing on the cake!
Oh yes there are mountain lions inTn &Al I have personally seen and heard them often. My sister lives in HardinCounty Tn. She has a. picture of one in daylight eating the dog food. The game warden in her area cautioned folks to be aware, There is a ridge on the west side of the Bankhead forest. They call the ridge Robinson Ridge because in the early 1900’s my GGrandpa was coming home through there he was coming homecoming to Village Farm and a painter jumped on the mule with him. He killed it with his bare hands..My grandma was the 2nd oldest of 12 and remembered him bringing the painter home, skinning it and selling the hide. I love listening to your stories . Some of the best memories I have are sitting in Papw’s lap listening to him and Grannie talk about the olden days or making music and singing.
Loved this video, so much to enjoy - snow, family walk in the woods, creek, sitting by the woodstove, hot chocolate, orange pastry recipe from this mornings BPandA blog, Katie jibber jabbering 😊 etc. Did pap and granny ever talk about March of 1960 when it snowed every Wednesday?
Cougars are definitely coming back in the Southern Mtns. My place is west / sw of y'all and just about a week or two after a friend of mine told me one was seen down the mtn, I was sitting on my porch at dusk and heard the most perfect cougar scream from up the hill behind me. So cool!
I really enjoyed this. It reminded me of some good times with family and friends. It has been a while since I gather round and just talk and ate . That to me is having a good time.
Our parents used to take us on moonlit walks through the snow on winter nights. You can see without a light because the snow on the ground reflects the light from the moon. The most welcome thing is the quiet. That beautiful hush. Thank you for sharing your hike.
Thank you for sharing your snowy hike! I love hearing the creek! We got missed by the snow here in Dayton Tennessee. It snowed within a very few miles all around though!
I really enjoyed this video; it was almost like I was standing right there listening to the conversation 😆 I also enjoyed listening to the stories by the wood stove. Thank you for sharing!
I would love to go out for a walk but we are sub zero and the wind has been blowing all day. Supposed to be this way here for the next 5 or 6 days. I feel bad for all the critters trying to keep warm. Beautiful there. ❤
Oh my I’m trying not to break the 10th commandment here🙏🏻. We didn’t even get “a priming”, no snow😔. I really enjoyed the walk and just sitting around the wood stove talking. God Bless😇
Interesting and enjoyable walk in the snow and the chin-wag around the woodstove that followed. Don't often see your yard and surrounding countryside all whited-up that way.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE WALK IN THE WOODS. YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY. I USED TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER AND SON FOR WALKS IN THE WOODS ALMOST EVERY DAY, AFTER THEY CAME FROM SCHOOL. I ALWAYS PLAYED IN THE WOODS WHEN I WAS A KID..SO MUCH FUN. GOD BLESS YOU,AND THANK YOU AGAIN,I LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS.
The snow is pretty but that’s something I don’t miss being in Florida…the part of NC I grew up used to get some fairly deep snows but not often…unfortunately, most of the time it would be sleet or freezing rain…thanks for taking us along for your hike & I loved hearing the stories ..I’ve heard a bobcat when I was little that sounded like a baby crying…scared me a lot…it was at night at my grandparents house & I was afraid to go to bed …enjoy the weekend…
Here in Fayette county Ga. we get very little snow but we did get a fair amount on Christmas day a few years ago and it made me feel like a lttle girl again. It also made me miss my mama and daddy when my mama would have a big pot of hot chocolate and fried pies on the stove and daddy would be checking the gas to make sure we would have heat. There's only 3 of us left now of 6 children and mama and daddy It's really hard to lose your family you grew up with but I have 2 wonderful children, 3 grandchidren and 3 beautiful great grandchildren so I'm really blessed.
We got about the same amount ...it's cold ..brrrrr It's forecasted to come again this weekend for us ....not sure how much tho ..... Thank you for the hike today ..... I so enjoy your videos ❄️❄️
What a wonderful visit!!! I enjoyed it so much, every minute of it. I never walked in the woods with snow, but a lot of snow memories from Wi are coming alive, thank you all so much. God Bless. Jean
Well, I went and typed in "mountain lion screaming " and sure enough, Katie, it was an AWFuL sound ! I think any one of us would be scared hearing that at night, even inside with family near. It does sound like the most distressing sound any human would make. Now I have to forget it before I try to sleep. lol
I absolutely loved watching this video! I've always wished I would have been born and raised in the mountains instead of the flatlands. Please make more videos like this, it felt like I was sitting there in your basement with a cup of hot chocolate with y'all! Thank you and God bless!
Some things you never forget. I moved away from snow country when I was 12. Now, at 70 I recognize the sound of the snow crunching under y’all’s boots in this video. I love it!
Your family walk evokes sweet memories for me of winters in my childhood. We used to get fresh spring water and dig sassafras roots for tea. I don't think I have ever heard a mountain lion, but Katie's face as she relived the memory was priceless!
Tipper, you may still get your snow this coming week. They are calling for more snow starting late Thursday , all day Friday and into Saturday for us in NC. But who knows, none of the weather people got it actually right this last weekend. We didn’t get as much as they said. Good walk with some interesting stories throughout the video. Y’all take care.
What a wonderful visit with your family! I'm like you Tipper, I will take any snow I can get! Where I live here in Arkansas we were supposed to get 1-3inches last sat. night. It was snowing when we went to bed. We woke up and nothing was on the ground. We were so disappointed. The temperature just wasn't cold enough for any to stick.
God bless!
Sounds so wonderful! I'm glad your dream came true 😀

That stream will make its way to the ocean, to share it's story with many other waters, giving itself up to the clouds to return once again.
Thank you Tipper for the lovely nature walk and stories. Family time is the most precious.
It really is 😀 Thank you for watching!
A day in the life of the Pressley family! I love how you all do things together. You are the epitome of what a family should be and it's wonderful to see!
Tipper, when Katie goes down to the creek to pick rocks. Her dad needs to make sure she has a 40 caliber on her hip and knows how to use it.

It's strange how peaceful and quiet it is when we have snow.
I love taking walks in the mountains in the snow. It's so quiet and peaceful.

Love it. Just like my childhood. Great job, from 'Bama.

In the summertime, I could sit on that rock by the creek and read or feed the wildlife all day. 🤗
😀 It is a good place to sit

I love hearing your creek. Grew up next to one and miss the sound of it
i love snow too !!!! and hiking around exploring !!! fun to watch !!!!
Nothing prettier than the woods after a snow ❄️
Gooood evening from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great night!
Good evening and thank you 😀
Love this video' I find snow to be so relaxing & peaceful I love walking in it whenever I can. Mountain lion would be my worst nightmare !! I've been told by people they could stalk you for hours & you would never know until they are ready! Bad kitty!!!😱😱
So beautiful and peaceful there. I dislike snow on roads but appreciate the beauty.
Glad you enjoyed the walk 😀
Thanks for the adventure. ❤️
Thanks for watching! 😀
I love learning and adventuring with with you folks.
So glad you enjoy our videos 😀
Katie most likely heard a Fisher Cat! For a small mammal emits a loud ferocious scream! Had one at my place in N.Y.! And are expanding their range now!
Fascinating! I'll have to look them up 😀 Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing. I love snow too!
I remember All the sounds of the wild animals at night growing up..eerie!! LOVE THE SOUNDS OF THE WATER BEAUTIFUL !!
Sitting by the fire listening to you all talk is so nice! And Matt's accent and words, it's so similar to the way my dad spoke. These are some of my favorite videos! Love you guys!
Thank you Lisa 😀
Great memories and good information about tracking ect. Thank God for giving us such beautiful places

Thank you! I'm jealous of your snow 😀
What a beautiful day in Western North Carolina!
Thank you Sherry! Enjoyed that hunting story 😀
whooppee snow tipper we havnt got any. so its lovely to see the whole family hiking in it
Oh yes there are mountain lions inTn &Al I have personally seen and heard them often.
Loved this, you are truly blessed
Thank you 😀
Just beautiful.
We got about 4-5 inches at my place. The grandkids had a blast. Thanks Tipper.
I bet they did 😀 I used to love to play in the snow-actually I still do!
Katie is always jabbering 😀 I don't recall them talking about 1960 I'll have to see if Granny remembers 😀
Woods look so pretty with layer of snow. Thanks for hike by your creek especially. Glad you got some snow. ❄️⛄❄️
I enjoyed the walk and stories by the woodburning stove. Great video!
Our parents used to take us on moonlit walks through the snow on winter nights. You can see without a light because the snow on the ground reflects the light from the moon. The most welcome thing is the quiet. That beautiful hush. Thank you for sharing your hike.
Same winter freeze that came through my region of Tennessee. Carbon copy accumulation. I was wanting more too! Love snow days! Peace!
Thank you for sharing your snowy hike! I love hearing the creek! We got missed by the snow here in Dayton Tennessee. It snowed within a very few miles all around though!
It’s so beautiful out there. ❄️ Thank you for taking us along and sharing your memories. Hot cocoa & a snack are perfect 😋
You are so welcome! 😀
I really enjoyed this video; it was almost like I was standing right there listening to the conversation 😆
I also enjoyed listening to the stories by the wood stove. Thank you for sharing!
I would love to go out for a walk but we are sub zero and the wind has been blowing all day. Supposed to be this way here for the next 5 or 6 days. I feel bad for all the critters trying to keep warm.
Beautiful there. ❤
That is ooshiee weather for sure 😀 Thank you for watching!
My sister and my Mom's neighbor saw a mountain lion in Roane County TN. Their properties hop on one another. Two separate sightings! They're there!
Such a beautiful Winter Wonderland, especially along your river. The rivers in Maine have been frozen for the past two months. lol
Oh my I’m trying not to break the 10th commandment here🙏🏻. We didn’t even get “a priming”, no snow😔. I really enjoyed the walk and just sitting around the wood stove talking. God Bless😇
😀 Thank you Robbie Lynn! I'm wishing we got more but I need to be thankful for what we did get 😀
Interesting and enjoyable walk in the snow and the chin-wag around the woodstove that followed. Don't often see your yard and surrounding countryside all whited-up that way.
Really enjoy the story telling, sitting around the wood burning stove. 🔥
We got about the same amount ...it's cold ..brrrrr
It's forecasted to come again this weekend for us ....not sure how much tho .....
Thank you for the hike today ..... I so enjoy your videos ❄️❄️
So glad you enjoyed the walk 😀
What a wonderful visit!!! I enjoyed it so much, every minute of it. I never walked in the woods with snow, but a lot of snow memories from Wi are coming alive, thank you all so much. God Bless. Jean
So glad you enjoyed it Jean 😀
Great, great video. It’s so soothing to watch you walk in the snow and listen to your story’s. Katie has so much spunk
Thank you Miss. Tipper.... and the rest of you!
(I enjoyed the hike from under my covers here in TN.)
😀
I really enjoyed this video! Just like I was there with you sitting around the stove telling stories.
God's Country right there, Thank you for taking us along on your journey
Thank you for coming along with us 😀
