If she knows so much about the corruption that Adani did Why did she not ask questions herself? Why did she give her password to Hiranadani to ask them? With her fiery personality and eloquent English why did she not ask herself. How many other MPs have given their password to people outside the government office and private business outside the country. Because you completely misunderstood what that login and website was. She explained it in a different interview it is only a portal where you can drop your questions and nothing else. Any citizen can write a question where they can be put in the website with her approval. She said she has an otp that let’s her verify the questions. The website hasn’t got access to anything else. All is what she said and up for courts to judge. But the question is why her staff didn’t write the questions, why a business person’s staff handled the question? That is the question. One studies relentlessly and takes very difficult exams and then interviews to finally become a civil servant however netas can be anpad gawar jahil without any preparation or understanding of sociopolitical history of India.
I am in favour of holding an equally difficult exam to become a neta, a MP candidare. A manadarory good work experience that all of us can see. A clean background check and minimal good education. Take away all privileges of neta type log. Make all their work and education related details public so we can choose better candidates. Why not? To elaborate, an Indian Member of Parliament receives a 60k monthly allowance as a part of his/her wages under the head office expense. 20K as Office expense and 40k as Secretarial Assistance. Why Mahua Maitra had to resort to an entity who operates overseas for free secretarial service as a favor? As among the finest talents in mass media of our times, do I believe this did not cross your mind? Or you ask uncomfortable questions selectively? When the BJP puts up a comparison between this episode and a parallel one in December, 2005, when about 11 Members of Parliament had to be suspended, cutting across party lines; it is actually comparing chalk with cheese. A public servant is not allowed to receive personal gratification in any form such as in kind or cash above a certain limit without declaring it to the authorities. So on all these fronts the lady MP does not appear to be culpable. So this is nothing but public harassment of an elected representative from the Opposition.
I completely agree with you. In 2005 case the poor guys got only Rs 10,000. In this case our Billionaire dear friend of Mahua presented her with expensive gifts which cost more than USD 20,000 and also payed for her expensive domestic and foreign vacation for asking questions in the parliament.
