Nice tip about using it as a booster as well! I use it right now to add overdrive and modulation only to my delays, but still retain my clean tone. Sounds very much like the Caroline Meteore.
Nice video. Could you connect two amp heads to the A & B signals and connect the output to a cabinet with one speaker? This way switching between amp A and amp B or mix both but using one single cabinet?
Hi, javiermelladomusica. The LS2 is not designed to take the signal coming off of an amplifier. It doesn’t act as a load box so doing this would likely damage your amps. To use two heads with one cab, you would need something like the Radial Headbone: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Headbone Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
I use this purely in the A/B function to change paths to two different inputs on the console(sound board). That way I can use it for two different instruments(such as guitar and bass, or guitar and mandolin) which are eq'd differently but I still want to use my same tuner pedal(or other stomp boxes).
I’m interested on this. My idea is to have the chance of changing between electric bass and upright bass. Without too much time waste, how much did it worked for you?
@@tavofo95 It works pretty well for guitar to bass, because I use the tuner pedal as a mute. Then I simply unplug the 1/4" cable from one instrument, replug, change the a/b switch pedal, unmute, and I'm good to go. In your case, if the cable and the pickup for your upright are one in the same(ie. aftermarket bridge/surface pickup), then you'd be changing connections at the pedal and not the instrument. It would still be about the same procedure, however you could get it to the point where you weren't doing any unplugging if you had two a/b switch pedals. You could put one at the beginning, and then one after the shared pedals(such as tuner). You'd just have to make sure to remember to have both pedals in either a, or b at all times.
@@tavofo95 Ignore the last couple sentences in my previous reply. My idea with 2 a/b pedals would only make sense if the pedals had a reverse option which I don't believe is possible. If it were then you could go from multiple inputs to one output, but as is I believe you can only go one input to 2 outputs.
A support pedal in the spotlight? Well played lol. Great pedal for loop switching but I just use mine to bypass my entire pedalboard's signal. It's like insurance, at least if a cable or pedal goes dead in the middle of a song I can just bypass to my amp and finish the song without effects.
Ehm, I do believe that starting at 5:25 and on concerning Amp select switching that Nick mistakenly points to the wrong sides of the pedal when talking about ins and outs thus making the explanation a bit more confusing than needs be or am I imagining it? Oh well, at least Nick understands and well shows how it ultimately all works.
Can I use this to split my guitar so that I can add chorus to my delay pedal, but also have my guitar signal unaffected by the chorus? I just want to modulate the delay, not my guitar.
Yes, you can do exactly that. You just use a cable from the Send A to your delay, then from delay to chorus, and from chorus back into Receive A. The guitar is plugged into Input and a cable from Output to your amp. The pedal should be set to "A+B MIX", which is a bit confusing, but when only loop A is used, B becomes your clean signal. I use it to apply an overdrive to only my delay, but not to my clean sound, which gives a nice lo-fi sounding delay.
Hmm. Stale comment since this is a super old video, but pretty sure there's no need to "dead patch" the loops. You can use the boost on a loop as song as it's selected, even if you have nothing plugged into or out of the loop.
Cool pedal. But if you are looking for a cheaper and and easier-to-use alternative, the ONE CONTROL FLASH LOOPER is the way to go. It's easier to bypass with added 9v DC outputs instead of one.
The intro to this made me lol. The smoke and shredding belies the fact this is the world’s most boring pedal. Don’t get me wrong, I have one. It’s as essential to own as a can opener and equally as exciting. I commend everyone involved in the making of this review, I’m sure making engaging content around this pedal was no small feat
Wow. So really, a guitarist can have three respective sounds to choose from the by using the LS-2 then? One that’s just the amp by itself, another that’s 1 effects board (A), and a final one that’s a 2nd effects board (B)?
yes you can,but this is not a wet dry system,is more like an external loop efffect,to aloows you to mix the dry signal with the wet signal at the level that yoiu want. To make a really wet dry system you have to use the ls2 to mix the signals of two amps sounding toghether,so in that case you can preserve very dry the tone of your "main amp" and use the other amp to do the modulation thing and win in clarity sound . Im trying to say that is not a wet dry system if at the end of the chain you are only going out through one amp.
Leaving the reverb on all the time just because you like to play in the cave? I use my Boss Fender Spring reverb, that means I like to play in spring! ROFL
Hi there, So I just pulled out my LS-2 recently to use between my Spark and Yamaha THR amp and have been getting pretty noticeable transistor / Grounding noise. Is this normal? I don't remember it doing this when I was using it years ago switching between two Fender tube amps. Any advice?
Can this be an effective pedal when used as part of a pedalboard with two acoustic guitars? (I play different guitars in different tunings) Or am I better going with something cheaper ?
Hi, Bryan! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BigShotIOv2--radial-bigshot-i-o-true-bypass-instrument-selector The above pedal from Radial is a better option for instrument selection. Hi, Tortilla Man. You can use the pedal like that, although it is not its main function. The LS-2 was mostly meant for toggling between two different signal chains. If the goal is to have a true ABY function, you might want to check out the Radial Bigshot ABY. The JHS Buffered Splitter would also work if you don't need to A/B between the signals. The biggest crappy situation here. I just got a stupid aby box. Buffered and with phase switch but does half the tricks this one does. And was costlier. Damn.
Hi. Can anyone help me with this. I want to know if there is a pedal that has all the features of LS2 plus also provides the option to save presets of A+B mix. Let say on A I have high gain distortion/fuzz and in B I have an overdrive. Now what I want to do is create presets for different tones by mixing A and B. Is there any pedal has option to save different mix presets.
nothing better than being able to take a tone sucking crybaby pedal and just leave it on all the time only putting it in signal path when you actually want to use it. very nice to be able to set up 2 different paths.
How does this work for changing channels on amp with an overdrive . Dirty channel to clean with my channel changer. Can it change amp channels? I'd like to have the clean channel totally clean and have me only using one to do both

But the tip with "dead loop" is a good one. Thanks.
Id imagine its possible to run two amps with one guitar right?
"Ad infinitum". YES! (BTW This is one of those pedals that at first seems meh but in use is just a wonderful optionprovider and problem solver).

Just FYI, you don't have to dead patch the loop to use it with nothing. The loops are normalled.
