    Johnny Dawes is probably one of the most esoteric climbers out there. A lot of his ideas are so original and almost otherworldly

    As a video game developer it’s fascinating hearing him talk about visualizing the surface normal vector of the geometry of each footfall face extending up as a line that he uses as a guide to land on. That’s literally how you move objects around programmatically in 3D using basic vector math.
    I’ve bumped into videos of him climbing before and always found it interesting, but very cool hearing him talk about his techniques 🔥🔥🔥

    This is especially good for older climbers as much as it is for younger climbers. I climbed the File at Higgar Tor in the pouring rain. Got a video of it. Like trying to cut your wrists with a cheese grater in a cold shower.
