Johnny's getting deep into the art of rock climbing at the start, the dance the rock brings your body into... And the interviewer interrupts to ask him some generic question about motivation, then the arrogance to insist upon his question being answered... smh I feel Mr Dawes' dissapointment and anger Edit: Also his resemblance to Tyson Fury in a wig is uncanny
He has incredible character..but he's got a complete lack of humility. listen to him rant about being amazing...no humility! haha..I still love watching videos of the guy. total legend.
Fickle Media most of the more recent “superstar” climbers are pretty humble and don’t really look for the attention - just a few I can think of off the top of my head; Alex Honnold, Tommy Caldwell, Pete Whitaker, Emily Harrington are all focused on their climbing more than their status. Now if we are talking about football stars.... you are spot on...
Humility?? xDD never seen anyone with as many arrogant comments within 4min in my life -He claimed needing/wanting recognition -Stated how special he knows he is -ranted about no one asking him about the meaning of Indian Face, and couldn't wait to burst it out. -He stated how people are stupid and not using their brains -He clearly stated how much better than others he is and how others don't know how good he really is. The guy is a walking prick. Good climber, but full of himself. Whether he is right or not, it's not the matter. But humble, he is not.
Johnny's comment on confidence underlies why he has so many hard routes to his name. Look at the West face of Tryfan and tilt your head 90° to the right you will see an Indian face and headress. Late afternoon and evening light is best.
"not me, not how special I am, i noticed how special i AM".... absolute legend!!!
Is this guy for real? Reminds me of that bowler who says "who do you think you are, I am".
Interviewer completely getting the roasting he deserves.
Gotta Love this Guy!
A rock Climbing Philosophical/ Metaphysical Guru.
Rock On Johnny....Always!

Living legend. I wish todays superstars had as much character and humility.

Steve S good point ✌🏼
@@steves1015 I would add that I think there is too much focus on numbers and not enough on the purity and beauty of the line.

This is a great video but it's so David Brent it's hilarious.
What a guy. There's only one JD legend .
Gold.
Really good view of Snowdon. It takes it all in.
I love this guy #legend
3:43 He really starts to lose his cool. What's the deal with that? Does he really spit in disgust at 4:26?
Even if Johnny was a shit climber I'd still want him around at the crag for his climbing philosophy and dry humour!
"Never weres". Classic.

The interviewer has rarely been anywhere near the route he asks about.
