Thank you! He passed away unfortunately; I couldn't tell you why. They're great fish, but I think the albinism maybe had something to do with his longterm health
Once a week I clean it with water changes, but it never gets bad really. Everything on the tank is consistent - set schedule with lights and feeding. The plants too suck up excess nutritients that algae would use otherwise.
Sup Ben, not sure you'll remember me but I asked you some questions last year about fish compatibility. Anyway I ended up getting 2 young angels to live with my torpedo barbs in my 55g. I've had them for about 7 months now (I got them as juveniles). Turns out they are a male and female who have paired up. I was asking before about the compatibility of angels with cardinal tetras and otos. In the end I didn't add either to my tank but more recently I'm thinking I'd like to get otos to help a little with maintenance + I like otos. My angels are pretty big now, probably similar size to yours. But I see you still have at least 1 otocinclus in your tank so I'm assuming it would most likely be fine if I added them? I don't know how much difference it would make but my female angel is pretty aggressive to the barbs but the male doesn't bother them Also sorry to hear about your white angel he was a stunner *Edit* Ps hows the betta getting along in there? Id love to add a female betta in my tank but id worry about my angels bullying it.
Sup! Thanks for coming back. That's an interesting question, but I'd lean more to not adding the otocinclus. The angels are a pair and large, they'd see them as food when the otos are put into the tank. That being said, it would probably work, but I'd add a bushynose or rubberlip pleco instead. Probably, they'd be larger when you add them to the tank. The male betta in my tank is working out fine; and he was added when these angels were big. A male or female betta could work, provided there is a good space for them at the top with plants or hardscape. Hope this helps and feel free to ask for clarification or more questions
@@bensfishtankchannelI did think about a bn pleco if I could get a female wild color (not a fan of the spikes). Other than that there's still space for some more fish so I'm thinking a blue ram cichlid or two, probably both the same gender since I already have one pair of fish. And a small group of panda corys. :)
@@hraz7134 yeahh that'd be awesome! You could do a male/female pair of the rams, they don't tend to be as aggressive paired up like angels and show better color for each other vs the same sex pair. I gotta get some panda cories too they're so cute
@@bensfishtankchannel Yea I had rams in the past but my experience with them is that they're just as aggressive as angelfish lol. But they were kept with tetras and the barbs when they were smaller, so it will be a different experience than being kept with angelfish and fully grown Denison barbs. I'll have a think about if I want multiple/a pair. I just don't want the barbs/corydoras to be forced into the middle with them being attacked at both ends of the tank 😭😂
Yeah he's a male. He gets along fine with everyone; you really just have to watch out for other fish that will pick at him or other fish that look like him. They would tend to attack similar looking fish.
