  • Surveyors get to 'stand up tall' and let the new AP20 AutoPole from Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon tilt into those difficult to reach spaces.
In this interview with Peter Haddock, product expert Mark Francis explains how the new AP20 with change the surveying landscape, keeping individuals safer whilst preventing injuries and removing errors.
Peter calls it the 'Digital Wizard Wand' as it will take analogue surveying techniques into the digital age. You can tilt it at any angle and even turn it on its head. The AutoPole elements also mean the system with its tablet, automatically recognises a change in pole height, beeping to tell you.
Each pole can also be a part of a surveying team onsite, communicating with the total station at the touch of a button.
We think this will make a huge difference to surveyors and help speed up the surveying process, taking out the risk of trips, falls and even bad backs.

Great innovation. As a surveyor I would rate it 10 on 10.

What is that silver rod above the prism. What is it used for?
