    I really don't recognize any landmarks from St.Lucia. It could be either St.Vincent or Grenada. Most likely Grenada. The buildings there were designed with the same stones that characterized St.Georges, Grenada(Building styles that they used for forts(St.Lucia had more British styled barracks for the British troops of World War I and I don't see any of these structures in this film.).
    still, fascinating footage. Love it.

    This is the real St Lucia. My parents told me how much they have destroyed the island with this thing caled progress. St Lucia is still beautiful from my point of view because I wasn't born there and visited for the first time in 1993 from July to Sep and agian from Jan to May 1995. St Lucia remains the best place ever that I have been. I will return to make a proffessional film in 8K on a 6 month project of life and beauty around the whole island. I use to shoot on 8mm and 16mm cine cameras back in the day. Thanks dor sharing this.

      I hope to see your film one day. My mom was a girl in St. Lucia during this videos and on her trip last year she said it was the most lush and green than she's seen it in ages. 💚

    Most of this is Grenada, and a scene from southside from Bequia, and not St. Lucia. St. Georges is easily recognised by it's architecture and layout, and the boat types are also not typical of St. Lucia, except except for the Gommier type canoes from 4:44 onwards, which is in St. Lucia, in Soufrière, near what is now known as Hummingbird Beach.

    Thanks for sharing. But some parts do not look like St Lucia. For example, where is St Lucia would 4:16-4:45 be?

      Mmmm, it is deceptively similar to the Castries basin, but @ 4:28 we should be able to see the Vigie beach/ airport area. Plus, no sign of the Pointe Seraphine/ Ganter's Bay area. Also, what is that big barrack structure at the top with that massive retaining wall?
      I'll have to do some research to see which island it really is.

    After looking carefully - Its NOT St. St. Lucia.

  • @MrResearcher122
    @MrResearcher122 3 года назад

    St Lucia is more greener. On the hill scenes St Lucia has more lushness,with palm trees hanging down as if tethered,with a silky cord, to the sky. A turquoise, reddish amber, like tropical fruit in heaven, glows over the island, like the orange or yellow colours in a painting from Cezánne or Vermeer. It could be a nearby, sister island, still nice,still pretty,despite the humble shacks from slavery.

    If not St. Lucia, where is this? Looks very familiar to me, being born and grew up in St. Lucia.

    It should have remained like this. Back then people looked out for each other when there was lesser material things. Now people have much more and selfishness grew in leaps and bounds. The only answer is to turn our hearts to the Most High God.

      Every thing, the video shows a very well developed place with lots of concrete buildings, if this was the 60s where are they now? and the land scape thought have changed throughout the years, looks nothing like st lucia
