From what I noticed a lot of Judokas tend to struggle against people who are not wearing a gi. In the gi, they are amazing, but without the gi they tend to struggle more.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people that says Judo doesn't work without the gi. Yes, Judo definitely still works without the gi. From what I've noticed, a lot of Judo schools only train with the gi, they never do no gi. Some yes, but a lot of them don't.
I think that's a problem. Like I said, Judo definitely still works without the gi, but if you're a Judoka and you always train with the gi, the first time you go against somebody that's not wearing a gi, it's going to throw you off.
Wrestlers tend to do better against strikers. They're better at closing the distance and getting a takedown, or closing the distance, getting into a clinch, then getting a takedown. Judokas tend to struggle with closing the distance against strikers.
I remember watching a video one time of a Judoka going against a boxer (who was not wearing a gi) and he kept on eating shot after shot and did not get a single throw or takedown. The boxer at the end was forced to put a gi on, and the Judoka finally managed to get a throw, but when the boxer wasn't wearing a gi the Judoka did not even get a single takedown and ate a bunch of shots.
