Arsenal have agreed a deal that sees goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale leave and join Southampton for £18M. In this video, we talk about how I believe Arsenal did a great job of selling him for this price and why the deal is not as bad as you think. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Ramsdale is a great character, he came into the club under a shadow, with a lot of people looking at how he had been in two relegated teams. His performances during a huge transitional phase for Arsenal, combined with his personality and the passion he showed, won the fans over. I would have loved to see Ramsdale stay and improve in quality.
Arteta being quite ruthless has the upside of making players acknowledge they have to bring their best, no freeloaders or players looking to cash in and sit on the bench. The downside may be that players loyalty to the club may wane if they see themselves as easily discarded. ESR and Ramsdale may feel they weren't given a fair opportunity to get their place back in the team. Wherease Aubameyang who was a high quality player, showed poor leadership and mentality.
Raya has shown his quality with big saves in the first two games. Knowing he's the confirmed number 1 is probably going to settle his nerves, which was an issue early on last season.
Sad to see Ramsdale go, but the club has to keep pushing onwards.
Great video as always.
Nicely put.
I don't feel good about Ramsdale or ESR but ultimately Arteta and the club have my trust to make difficult decisions
we got a great deal considering his wages.
I support this move because he needs to be in the England national team for the world cup, from the way pickford is playing he might grab the number one position.
Rambo is a top man. I'm really grateful for his efforts that got us to where we are. I really hope he does well at Southampton and if they go down then he goes to a better club.
Bon voyage Rambo!
ESW was probably the best Saka backup for the price out there. I'm at a loss.
Got a great deal but buying a backup keeper for 30 mil euros makes no sense that too when we desperately need a quality attacker .
Joan Garcia can't be 30M😂😂
@@hakeemahmed2874Joan Garcia is a better ball playing goalkeeper but he is not a better shot stopper. But he has a higher ceiling.
Southampton lucky to have such a quality footballer
We are
Arsenal's negotiator is actually terrible. ESR for 27m + add ons? Ramsdale for 18m? - if Arsenal wants to sign a keeper replacement for ramsdale - it will cost arsenal upwards of 35m, if arsenal wants to buy a player with ESR potential, it will cost arsenal upwards of 50m... If arsenal knew all transfer window that - 1) ESR, Ramsdale, Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Kieran tierney were all players that needed to move on , but not only is arsenal unable to offload tierney & nelson - they only got 70+m for the sale of ESR, Ramsdale and nketiah - which obviously covers the cost for merino and calafiori.
To rate this transfer window, arsenal did absolutely terrible - not only has the squad depth weaken, we havent gotten the no.1 priority position which is centre forward all summer. We have lost, ESR, Ramsdale, nketiah, Viera and the only positive we got is Calafiori, a left back/centre back - even though arsenal already have 6 players that can play left back on the team. (Tierney, Timber, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, Kiwior & Calafiori)... at centre forward, we have a consistently injured Jesus and a makeshift Havertz as centre forward. Are we going to win the league with a weaken squad this season? probably not and if we dont win now, then when?
I don’t like Ramsdale but Arsenal sold him for £18m is way too cheap. And the asking price for Garcia is £30m where he’s not an EPL proven yet and just got promoted to La Liga. Not really a good deal tbh.
Arsenal need to show the same ruthlessness to their forwards
Fair price, good for both parties
If they sell Nketiah as well that would be an even better deal
This is a cheap deal how is it a great deal?? If you consider the price we buy him, his performances and he became international, how can we say this is a great deal no this is a shitty one!!
So if Aaron wants to leave, And this is the best offer they got, Is it fair towards Aaron to block it after all he done in this club? You gotta see it from the players point of view aswell brother, dont be so selfish.
@@VinnieHndrx are we in a business or in fairytale or something, the guy has a contract, he is really well paid as long as the club doesn’t receive the correct amount you keep a very good player in the club, where do this crazy ones come that if he wants to leave, Nelson wants to leave we let him leave for nothing? Eddie wanted to leave we should have accept the first marseille offer? As long as a player has a contract, he does what the club decide!
@@justin4517Did you watch the video?
@@justin4517 I can tell youve never been in a team atmosphere and yappin from a fan-view.. Then we got nothing to talk about. I guess a random commentator on youtube knows better than a top 10 club in the world...smh.
@@VinnieHndrx 🤣🤣🤣 again a random guys assume the life of someone else, I even work in a professional team as staff so sorry I perfectly know what it can do, again if the guy is professional enough you explain to him, and this is a business first, so what we do with Nelson who asked to leave before the window open? We let him leave for free, sorry you are thinking like we are in a lovely world where it’s all love, sorry no you signed a contract you are a pro you respect it, if you behave badly you think others clubs will come or shit stop this nonsense sense!!
Great shot stopper, great character, but doesn’t fit the style of play any longer and Mikel didn’t like the ‘lack of concentration’ comment from Rambo in the Amazon interview. His sale says more about the development we have made as a team, rather than his personal development. Sitting on the bench gathers no value for him. Add in 120k wages, and I agree with Woklz, this is a decent deal and allows our team to move on. Best wishes Rambo!
I like cheese do you like cheese
Why does Ramsdale is not in the squad for nations leage?
He was on big wages so its a good deal for us now we need to a winger
what's the plan for Reece Nelson?
Wolves will be kicking themselves, they need someone desperately
Ramsdale wasn’t a good number 2 as he didn’t play well without regular game time
should have gone to leverkusen
Martinez 2.0 no english tax to be seen , also as always not getting whats needed.eg a st.
It was a shit deal, just say it like it is
Hardly amazing is it
I’m just glad we moved him on. He seems like a laugh but his lapses in concentration have cost us dearly in the past. Very overrated because he seems to be a laugh!!
First COYG
Nah, it's really cheap, he will have a good season and we will regret selling him that much. Mark my words.
We won’t regret selling. Raya has been quality. If you don’t realise that yet, you are living under a rock or you are delusional. And wouldn’t it be good for Ramsdale to play somewhere he can get minutes and show his talent? I would be happy for him if he had a good season but I won’t regret selling him.
He will get relegated. Coming back to this at the end of the season
@@NorthLondonForeverCOYGthis is not about regretting, is about having the correct value for the player, if you take into consideration the price we paid, the performances, he became international you can say we had a good value for the player, this is not about regretting is about business!!
@@justin4517how much did we need to sell him for 30-40?
@@Rk-xx1sg first where come this like everybody seems like we have the obligation to sell ramsdale we don’t, than yes a keeper with the level, contract etc of ramsdale you look for 35 with add ons
