Been joining architecture competitions since 2nd yr in uni, I'm on my last semester now (5th yr) and I've only won once in a national level, so grateful for the experience and learnings from it. Arch competitions are almost like lottery, no matter how good you think your entry is, still no guarantee that it will win. But just keep on trying. The experiences and lessons from it are all worth it. 💯🤗

this magazine is amazing, these competitions make us understand how important it is for an architecture student to participate and give different criteria for the project.
This book would really help me out in my presentation boards because it has been an issue since my last year of the career. I've been thinking about getting into competitions too to push myself to improve my representation and get rid of the fear of competing.

This is very useful for a fresh grad like me. The ability to describe the design idea in words often been an issue for me and these competitions related books did help alot.

There is no absolute design process or technique to win architectural design competitions. However, this book is like learning directly from the experts with promising graphic design inspirations and approach to really push us to win competitions and provide outstanding design solutions. This book would help me grow as a designer, I'd love to have it. 😌

Joining competitions is really important not only to showcase yourself and work but also really helofull to build a team work spirit and they are also a chance for the architect , desogner or even student make himsemf better

Hey ! Thanks for that video it's great. I did win a competition, and chose to do almost everything by hand : the texts were written by hand, the drawings were made with a digital tablet, diagrams too ! I think what people forget is that not only every image should be well made but the overall composition of your work and visual
consistency are very important !
Those are great examples, I like the africa one a lot.
Also, the artist im very inspired by is Thomas Dubois, I cant recommend enough his work and how he translates emotion through images.

More than the creativity and technicalities in winning competitions, the personal intention is what the jury would likely sense the most. Winning design competitions is about the persona they see from the entry. The clearer and more the original the idea, and especially the deeper it speaks or the more intimidating it could be, the more it is going to win the competition. Not only the jury, but how your idea will actually change the world, holistically.
Great job in putting such efforts into curating this book! I'm sure it has great insights on how we can all learn so much more on architectural competitions! Looking forward to read the book!🙌

With the ease of availability technologies and abundance of drawing software's , people have really lot touch with hand drawing and rendering.
The content is amazing but what I love more about this book is the amazing layout and the various representations for each competition.

Wonderful video! I had a chance to see the first edition of this yearbook and it’s really inspiring ☺️ but this edition is waay better because of the “how did we win” section.

I have participated in one competition with 2 more people in group we couldn’t reach the end and send our project for different reasons, but lack of information about whats most important for current competition felt badly. Really want this book to understand a little more about individuality of each project and gain more confidence.
