Jane Eyre actually did take on board the lesson of forgiveness which Helen taught her after her death. she forgave her dying aunt and abusive cousins she forgave Mr Rochester and married him she ended up happier in the end because she chose to live by good principles: selflessness, generosity, forgiveness and kindness
