    Outstanding! The only channel I’ve seen with multiple videos about grass fishing. Down here in Florida grass is all that matters! Keep the grass/hydrilla content coming! My home reservoir has no docks, no riprap, no bridges, no creek channels - just vegetation so that’s all I care about 😎

    • @BassFishingHQ
      @BassFishingHQ  3 года назад

      Yup there is definitely a lot of vegetation in Florida

    Great video! I took 5th in my club tourney yesterday and it was 90% grass fishing in that 5-15 foot deep grass. Patterned them on a chatterbait and then switched to a jig. I missed Lunker by 1/2 oz. Great video! I gotta get some tubes!

    I bet I've went through 400 yards of line since your skipping video I've been bass fishing my whole life from the bank and I just can't get the technique down. I can kinda skip a floating worm but that's about it. I have just never tried because I was always so scared of backlashes 😂😂😂 . Love the videos.

    • @jrhayes6901
      @jrhayes6901 3 года назад +1

      Give it a try on a spinning reel... try to cast at the bottom end and keep raising the rod tip back up drawing line out as your bait freely skips without resistance...apply same technique to a casting rid...the trick is to keep line coming out of the spool

    I always hear it said that milfoil grows to 15 feet depth. Yet my best secret location on my favorite lake is an island of thick milfoil in an otherwise barren area growing in 30 feet of water peaking at 15 or 10 feet

    I'd like to know a bit more about the health of grass and weeds. Sometimes we'll be out on a lake in the middle of summer and certain weeds around us are all dead, or brown and gray tint and are unhealthy. Do I avoid that area, and that certain type of weed? What are your thoughts. Thank you

    • @BassFishingHQ
      @BassFishingHQ  3 года назад +2

      Yup dead grass, unless it is matted vegetation, you typically want to stay away from. Most grass, the greener and more crispy they are, the better

    Less experienced anglers avoid grass like the plague…that’s the only reason I’m able to go to small, highly pressured public ponds with 5 people already fishing, and still catch fish where the average person can’t. Don’t tell these people there are baits that can go through grass lol

      @@BassFishingHQ ok I have a question I have a tournament this weekend on mosquito. I went out and pre fished and caught one keeper and 7 shorts but I wasn’t sure how to fish the grass there. Do you normally catch them in the weeds or on the weed lines? And what plastics are your favorite for out there?

    This time of year I'm all up in the grass. There's only 3 baits I use exclusively in the grass in the heat of summer and that's a chatterbait as you mentioned, a heavy swimjig 1/2 and heavier that I rip through the grass using a boot tail swimbait, and finally a light hybrid jig that I can let slow sink in open areas of the grass, jig along grass hard edges, and using a craw with lots of water resistance, burn across the tops of grass like a horny toad. That's it.
    You're right that bass group up in grass. I can sit at one spot and catch 4-6 bass. Today I truly got lucky. Landed a 7lb 10oz on a swimjig. I let it sink into the grass and rip it out, repeating it, and this monster ate it.
