This is an incredible breakdown of the story! I picked up on a number of things in my playthrough, mainly the broader themes, and that the plants & what makes them thrive seemed to hold a lot of symbolism. But I felt like understanding all the deeper layers and historical references would take me another revisit or two to fully appreciate. You've unpacked so much more than I realized was woven into the game, and I'm really excited to revisit it with this knowledge. The game resonated with me so much, but I feel even more personally connected to it after watching this. The writing is really exceptional, especially with how it's all delivered through the gameplay. That ending was just pitch perfect, too. Thanks for putting this together and sharing it with us Botany Manor fans!
Why thank you so much! This game was so much more layered than I expected and I really enjoyed connecting all of the pieces of history to her life story. It really gave the game so much more depth. I appreciate you for watching!
So glad to see this pop up, the analysis was very in-depth and I like that you did research to confirm real life events and people that occurred in the game and gave some additional background on them. As far as the game itself (which I haven’t personally played) I did like the double meaning behind the book and chapter names. I also liked seeing the blue mushrooms sprouting on the tree and the ash plume that was growing over a fire. As ever, incredibly well done!
I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! Yeah, it was a game that was surprisingly layered and I enjoyed doing the research and uncovering everything. Also...how are you?! It's been a long time. Feel free to reach out and catch up!
@@pixeljurnee I may do just that. Reaching out I mean. I’ve had an interesting journey, and may tell you about it. I might get back into RUclips, surprisingly people still watch my videos despite not uploading anything in 2 years. I’m very glad to see you never stopped!
Great video for a great game!! Thank you for doing the research. I had wondered about some of the names and references mentioned in the game. I hadn’t considered the double meaning behind the chapters but that makes so much sense now!! Edited to add: wow, love to see you’re a psychologist!! I’m a psychological associate, so sending my admiration as a fellow psychology professional ❤️
Thank you! Just like you I got a bit curious and had to start looking things up and I was amazed at how much real history they included in this. Nice to need a fellow professional in the mental health field! I was a psychological associate, too, back in the day and it's so rewarding. Good to see us enjoying great games
