- One of Dommie Jayawardena's two directorial films in which Baila Chakrawarthi had an impact. 'Singapore Charlie' a comedy caper scrpited by Anthony C and this song was written by Karunarathne Abeysekara.

Look at M.s , he even has dressed very well , I think there is one reason for the most old actors and actresses to be dressed well and be very smart in the past , I feel it was because just after we were given independent from England , as it been not far from still have had Western way of life style in the country. It is just a guess , but I don’t blame for that , because we respect for the quality of a man than what he dressed .
Just have a look at old films , in there majority of the actors were very built and smart .

I too agree with you . The actors and actresses of those days were handsome ,sweet and beautiful actresses ,well built,fresh and shining ,not much make up like today . Tony,alexander ,dommy, baptist fernando,robin fernando handsome to the word . Golden era .that period will never come

Dommie has been picked up for the traditional villain in many movies so he was not known as a director.
Thanks for uploading this. I did not know Dommie directed any movies. I know he was always the villain and think he was not given the due credit and was shockingly under-rated !

I just love this song and the rhythm by MS since I started listening to movie songs from 1970s but only happened to watch the movie a few days ago on derana channel. Other than this track there is nothing much - except a few explosive moments by Dommie, Anthony C and of course the beauty Sandya Kumari.

why what about the song " walakulen peraa pewu ama nura" it is so beautiful. it is a duet by Sujatha and ( I think ) Nihal Jayawardena. Pl upload the song if you can.
Sandhya Kumari looked her best in this film. none can match her photogenic beauty. in this film she reminds me of the goddess of the hindi screen, the late Madhubala.
