Awesome. Simplicity at its best. No jibber jabber to deflect from instructions, for me you have unveiled the mystery of seaming and I shall press on with my squares for a patch work throw. Thank you so much Hannah ❤
I' learned to knit when I was 8, I haven't knitted in 25 years and recently picked up a project and am grateful for your clips, they are so helpful and I like your manner
I have been knitting for a few years, and now am teaching my daughter. Your videos are so helpful and I've learned a lot while teaching my daughter. I like how you just get the job done with no chatter or mucking around wasting time. Thanks
I’m so pleased to know you’ve found these videos useful. Such a brilliant time for you both, passing the passion on to the next generation. Happy knitting 🧶
Thanks! I looked at several seaming videos and you managed to make it so much less complicated! I've always used the slip stitch without realizing it had a name. Now I know more about how to do it correctly. Will probably try the invisible stitch soon on a smaller project. Great video.
Wow, this is so helpful, thank you. I’ve just started seaming (on beanies) and started with the mattress stitch, and I can tell you, my seams are *not* invisible! 😂😂 I’m going to try the slip stitch method next time.
Thank you so much for the great videos Hannah! I really wanted to learn knitting from my grandma but she's been gone for a bit now, so I'm just hoping she's happy with how it's going :)) thanks again, you're awesome!
That makes me think that perhaps Andrea did a lot of sewing before or alongside of knitting. It's such a good idea to pick up what works well in other situations, feels so much easier. Happy knitting!
Angela wright hi Hannah I like all your ways of showing how to do different sewing stitches how are y'all doing today's I am doing fine today's from columbus ga 🙂🌹🍍
Hello Hannah. Thanks for this ... I have another way. I usually slip my first stitch on a row and knit into the back of the last stitch. This gives a little knobbly bit which I can either sew into or sew between using either a slip stitch or a back stitch.
That's a great tip! When you're looking for those stitches in the edges of stocking-stitch that can be a great hack to find them more easily. Happy knitting!
Hiya from Tasmania! I thought mattress stitch went back into the previous stitches somehow and so its like lacing a shoe and then they disappear when tightened.
That's a good idea! It might take a while to appear as videos are generally planned a long way in advance of filming. Other option for that scenario is here: ruclips.net/video/cIqXJcmFPTg/видео.html
This can really be a lot of personal preference and experimenting. I like the slip stitch seam for arm holes, personally and if the side seams are plain-ish stitching I like the mattress. Happy knitting 🧶
When you finish the invisible seam you can't actually see it on the outside, it's like the two stitches on either side are joined together 'seamlessly'. It's also in this video as a single tutorial: ruclips.net/video/uBbqBeGcxDg/видео.html Happy knitting. 🧶
The pattern will not usually tell you exactly which seaming method to use, but if it does, know you can swap if you find a different one easier. Happy knitting 🧶
Hi Vernita, the sound is quite loud in this video, I make sure of balancing it across the video. You may have to adjust it after any ads, and be sure to check the volume tab on RUclips's controls - I've had it lowered or mute without realising before. And the automated subtitles/captions are available too. Click on the 'CC' tab when you hover over the video. Happy knitting!

Some videos definitely have more jibber jabber than others, so glad this was helpful for you! Happy knitting 🧶

A great refresher. I am putting off sewing up a knitted cushion but will get on with it confidently now!
Yay! So glad this helped as a reminder. Happy seaming! 🧶
This is great!! Thank you for getting back to me!
Any time!

Yes, have a good go with the invisible stitch. Thats a good idea to start with a smaller project, with fewer rows to work through. Happy knitting 🧶
This was the most simple/easy to see seam tutorial I’ve seen! Thank you!!! I got tired of accidentally seaming “Frankenstein sweaters” 😭
Glad it was helpful! Happy knitting 🧶
Those are the best explanations I've ever seen. Thank you!
So glad you found this helpful, happy knitting 🧶
I help me?plz plz
Thank you so much for the useful info on sewing up seams.
You are so welcome! Happy knitting 🧶

I just finished my first project using your videos and I plan to stay and learn a lot more!
yay! Congrats on finishing your first project! Wishing you much more happy knitting :D
I’ve always just done a slip stitch, I’ll have to try the other two! Thanks 😊
Hi Cara, yes, have a go - you never know one might feel even easier than the slip stitch for you. :D Happy knitting!
Thankyou for tutorial. Saves me making a mistake of using wrong stitch, ill use mattress stitch for the baby cardigan 🧶
Sounds good! Happy knitting 🧶
Thank you so much, gracias.
You are welcome! happy knitting 🧶
thank you for this tutorial, so easy to follow and displaying the finished product is very helpful as well describing the seams thickness, etc
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy knitting 🧶
Andrea on Fruity Knitting preferred the back stitch for most of her seaming
That makes me think that perhaps Andrea did a lot of sewing before or alongside of knitting. It's such a good idea to pick up what works well in other situations, feels so much easier. Happy knitting!
Good morning Hannah, really enjoy your videos 🌷🌞 most helpful, thank you
Good morning! So glad you enjoyed this one too. :D Happy knitting!
Thank you so very much for your last method that you taught us. I plan on using it on a baby blanket
That's great, you are welcome 😊
Angela wright hi Hannah I like all your ways of showing how to do different sewing stitches how are y'all doing today's I am doing fine today's from columbus ga 🙂🌹🍍

So glad it was helpful! 🧶
Thank you, terrific video.
You're so welcome! Happy knitting 🧶
Do you have any clips of knitting together arms of jumper to the body when stitches go in different directions please?
I don't have sleeve seams on video in this channel. Hope you found something to help. Happy knitting 🧶

Yes, that's a great analogy, Sarah. It's just like lacing a shoe! Happy knitting. :D
Do you have a video showing sewing up cast on/off seams at all? If not would you mind making one please as I like your way of explaining best. Thanks
That's a good idea! It might take a while to appear as videos are generally planned a long way in advance of filming. Other option for that scenario is here: ruclips.net/video/cIqXJcmFPTg/видео.html
@@KnitWithHannah thank you for considering it. And thanks for the alternative suggestion.
This is really helpful. Which is the one that you said you use the most?
I use invisible seam, aka mattress stitch, most often. 🧶
Okay thank you for the video but what are the lavender bags for? Do you hang them to dry filled with lavender?
I put lavender in them and they’re in the wardrobe and around my yarn too. Lavender is a clothes moth deterrent.
What type of stitching is best for what?
Ie. what is good for shoulders, side seams etc
This can really be a lot of personal preference and experimenting. I like the slip stitch seam for arm holes, personally and if the side seams are plain-ish stitching I like the mattress. Happy knitting 🧶
Which of three options is best for baby sweaters where they will get a lot of wear & washing. Thanks
I tend to use the invisible seam for garments, but any will do, they'll all be resistant to wear. Happy knitting! 🧶
We can’t see the finished seen because it’s out of the camera shot☹️

Happy knitting. 🧶
All 3 methods were done on the inside or was the mattress stitch done on the outside?
Mattress stitch is with the outside facing you. Happy knitting 🧶
@@KnitWithHannahThanks!
How to join knitted arm with the sweater
Best way I've found it like a sewer, to turn body inside out and have sleeve inside it then sew around the edges. 🧶
But I can't appear read pattern
The pattern will not usually tell you exactly which seaming method to use, but if it does, know you can swap if you find a different one easier. Happy knitting 🧶
Could you speak up some
