      Me too! It's so nice to see more birds getting to experience the outside world in a safe way, and I can't wait to try out free flying later down the line

    I am a junior in high-school and will be going to college to hopefully one day become a vet as well. I qualify to bring an ESA to school with me and my Mom agreed to a bird. I was wondering if it would reasonable to bring an eclectus to school with me. I am very introverted so I will definitely be home with him after class. I really like the eclectus temperament as they can talk, are playful and will get along with children (which I want to have in the much later future). Is that a reasonable commitment to take on during college?

      I must admit I don't know a lot about eclectus parrots, but taking on any parrot during college is tough and a big commitment.
      I love and adore Charlie, but parrots are less than optimal when trying to study for an exam and they start to scream for attention...
      Really do consider everything and maybe find someone with eclectus knowledge that could maybe give better advice, cause I'm afraid I don't qualify :)
      But hey, best of luck with your studies! I really hope it's everything you wish for, and how cool that you got in, I know it can be quite tough many places, so very well done :D

    Love your videos, I´ve got a question about your harness, what size do you have? I´ve tried to use a small size harness to my bronze-wing but not having to work, it seems that it to small?

      Thank yooou, I'm glad you enjoy them!
      Charlies is a size small, but feel free to try out a medium, since Pi's do have that awkward size where it can differ :)

    I love your videos! I will be adopting a blue headed pionus this summer and had a question, how do we prevent our birds from getting bird lice or other paracite from the outdoors when taking your bird outside? Is there a product like cats and dogs that we can put them? There is a lot of ticks where I am from and wouldnt like to take a chance of my bird getting that. But I would really love to take her outside in a harness when I go hiking. Thanks!

      Thank yooou! And what an interesting question.
      I haven't really heard of ticks being a problem for parrot owners, and I think as long as they don't play in tall grass when you are out you will be fine... As far as I can tell most of the ticks they get they do remove during preening, but can risk getting some on their head they can't remove themselves, but ticks aren't dangerous for them if it's only a few.
      I would never use cat or dog products on them, it sounds super toxic, but always ask a vet if in doubt :)
      Hope that helped, best of luck with your BH

    Aren’t you afraid of big crows or ravens when you go out with Charlie without the backpack?

    • @stellaandcharlie
      @stellaandcharlie  5 месяцев назад

      Not at all! It's pretty unheard of in Denmark that bigger birds get that close or would even atack, but I would be cautious if I lived somewhere else or was free flying in the middle of nowhere :)

      @@stellaandcharlie it’s the same in the Netherlands, but all the crows walking around in the park still scare me like crazy😂😂 I guess I just have to get over it haha

    Is Charlie friendly with people? How old is he?

    • @stellaandcharlie
      @stellaandcharlie  4 месяца назад

      Very! She loves to go on people's hands, and if not outside they are allowed to scritch her aswell.
      She is 3 years old :D
