@@Audrey-faithlife probably because you're exposed to the accent on a daily basis. Being from the US, we really don't have much of an accent so it's difficult for me to understand what they are saying much of the time with such a heavy accent.

Loving the comments on the Irish first dates, people are so genuine and witty with what they say! And I love the Irish accent, been mesmerised since 1994! The people seem so lovely and haven't been affected by what the English have been affected by. Why is it so complely different over there even though they are just under 2 hours away?!

Katie, that should have been their accents, and they’re (or they are) both Irish to me.
If you cant tell the difference hear then I cant imagine you would hear it many accents. They are quite different.
Fair enough if he was from belfast and she was tyrobe. They would be different but quite similar. Wheras dublin and tyrone accents are very different.
